6:59 The difference between K7 integration and KK software is the usability within your DAW. It wasn't practical to use Kontakt wrapped inside KK for my 60 tracks project as KK uses lots of RAM and CPU per KK instance. But with K7 integration, I can only use Kontakt without a "wrapper" in my 60 tracks project since it's more lightweight on system resources. In fact, K7 direct integration is the result of many customers requests to NI since MK2 but NI delivered it very late actually lol

Labs recently became Labs+ and to be honest, I haven't explored the changes. However, I do believe it's still free. Subscribing to things can be a little tricky especially for free products, but I find Spitfire to be a great company that doesn't bombard you with emails.

The big question mark is how do they implement Maschine workflow for the user base that rely on the tight integration in the MK2 model?
@ThisIsOnesto
@ThisIsOnesto 9 сағат бұрын
The lack of Maschine Workflow is a big missing piece. However, I believe that NI commented somewhere on this video that they are working on an update for the MK3 that will finally include Maschine integration. So once again, the MK3 is supposed to get even better over time with updates, but we're left in the dark on that timeline.

Are we throwing the last 120 years of audio engineering out window? I just want to know because I started studying mixing four years ago and after a few mixes am only now understanding how a slow attack on a compressor can let the impact of a percussive instrument through. Please let me know if ive been wasting my time when now I can let Neutron find me a starting point and just tweak to taste.

BBC piano is nice, but suffers what a lot of good vst piano's have. Too much room or reverb that is in the sample so you cannot get a pure dry sound. I prefer closer mics to get a pure dry sound which I can add reverb or room too.
@ThisIsOnesto
@ThisIsOnesto Күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment, I totally get what you mean. Noire and the Teletone Piano offer that pure dry sound you're talking about. It really does give you the most flexibility for spatial effects. I always try to have at least one beginner friendly plugin in these lists, and I felt like having the room baked into the BBC Piano would make it easy for those who don't want to fuss with other plugins.

It seems that NI design their hardware gears with "live performance" in mind more than designing them for music production. I mean this thing costs at least $750 because of just fatar keybed, polyphonic AT and a few new aesthetics? ... I get the feeling that NI completely forgets that this should be a MIDI keyboard for music production in a studio. Pads and faders are vital elements for any music production. I'd buy the S49 in a heartbeat if pads and faders are there. I make lots of percussive tracks and Pads not only help me to create the most smooth percussive performances but they also help me to preserve the keybed and protect them from wearing out.
@schragemusik
@schragemusik 2 күн бұрын
And yet there are many folk who wouldn't touch a pad - EVER. As a keyboard player, I've bought boards with pads, thinking they may come in useful, but hardly ever use them. As a result, I begrudge the fact that I'm paying for functions I'll never use. So, vital? Not at all. Vital in limited circumstances perhaps. Same with faders. More useful than pads but still not 'vital,.
@Ahmad-Mounir44
@Ahmad-Mounir44 5 сағат бұрын
@@schragemusik It really depends on the genres of music you produce. I mostly produce hybrid orchestral music so I utilize the faders for more expressions and realism. For the Pads, they are very important to me because cinematic percussion expressiveness is easier to achieve on pads than on keys. On the other hand, EDM producers nearly can't live without them for beat making. But in the general view, everyone is different I agree.

The problem I have gravitates more around how NI operates being their complete disregard to the community requests then deliver what feels like an unfinished prototype in exchange for a few added bells and whistles that quite frankly could have been implemented in the previous keyboards. The most frustrating part about all of this is the inability to load multiple instruments in a multis GUI to combine different plugins. Being that your limited to one plugin instance at a time is just painful considering Akai VIP advanced allows you to do this seamlessly, and thats been around for what a decade now? I have the MPC key that is a full standalone workstation synthesiser which includes all the bells and whistles as the MK3 and more with an added touchscreen so NI falls flat on their argument about how their users pefer tactile hardware control over touchscreen which first of all is a straight up lie and secondly MPC Key has the best of both worlds utilizing the hybrid of touchscreen meets hardware control and ive seen brand new ones for $1400 even less. Justifying price points when comparing the 2 is uncomparable insanity. On another note ive been a loyal NI costumer for 15 years and the emplyees seem to have a god complex with a chip on their shoulder. They have treated me like dirt for all of these years and it seems to have gotten worse. They fail to deliver time and time again and worst yet they lied to FL users promising the DAW integration "coming soon" since product launch and only recently being almost half a year later finally released the deep DAW integration. Their marketing techniques are what is going to drive this company bankrupt/find themselves a lawsuit or both. It amazes me that while their MK3 line of keyboards were on the precipus of product launch, they shifted their focus on other software developments nobody asked for that arent intended to be shipped with the controller for the user to enjoy. They have a huge problem with project management getting away with this new type of marketing that forces the customer to make compromises by using them as product beta testers to find these unpatched bugs and address them to NI and their duty to patch these bugs move at a snails pace as their priorities are set elsewhere. Their company motto should be "Too little too late", innovation is a second priority over marketing so I beleive what NI has done here is model their company after Apple...They established themselves in the industry and now what? Apple has marketed the same phone selling year after year with barely any difference other than a minor aethsetic tweak and performance upgrade but their selling point is "look at the beutiful new design and now we added a 12th camera to it!" which somehow justifies a $200 price increse their cult following will run over eachother to buy. Im afraid NI has already headed in this direction and theres probably no turning back so expect a huge nothing burger out of any of their future products if any because innovation is gone and now were left with a company led by marketing with a cult following.

Hello Bro can you tell me where i place nectar and neutron in the mixxer ? is coming neutron on the master? the Mix or on the vocal?
@ThisIsOnesto
@ThisIsOnesto 8 күн бұрын
Yeah no problem, for nectar I just place that on my vocal tracks. Since it’s geared for vocals, that’s where it goes. For Neutron, I like to place that on instrument groups or on individual tracks. If it’s something like a group of percussion or chords, I’ll place Neutron on the group or bus. For something like a lead or bass I’ll place Neutron on the track itself. However I won’t place Neutron on tracks with one-shots or sounds that just make a quick appearance, I won’t use Neutron to help save on CPU. And then if you plan on using Visual Mixer, that’s something you put on the master. Another iZotope plugin you put on the master is Ozone, but if you don’t have it, don’t worry about it.

Thank you for sharing! if I may ask ... I have limited space and eye issues, but I want better hardware/software integration, I was going to get the m32 but I need to be able to read the screen, what would you recommend?
@ThisIsOnesto
@ThisIsOnesto 9 күн бұрын
Great question, the screen really is tiny, so if you have eye issues, it may bother you. A lot of keyboards at this size have tiny screens or no screen at all. Fortunately, you can get by without referring to a screen. The hardware software integration still works great as long as you're looking at your computer screen. The screen on the keyboard is meant to keep your eyes off your computer screen, but it's more an ideal than an essential. So my recommendation is to wait until the Fall to see if there's any new keyboard releases, which there always are, or you buy the M32 from a place that allows you to easily return it like Guitar Center or Sweet Water.
