Is there a reason you opted to not include any objective data in either this video review or the written version on your website? It would be much more useful to see a measurement using something like RoomEQ Wizard to understand the in room impact of the speakers behind the screen, ideally both pre and post calibration using something like Audyssey or Dirac. Additionally, validating the rated gain of the screen would be very helpful for those of us considering moving from a non-AT screen to a woven or perforated screen. Also, are you concerned about the center support causing audio issues with speakers when the tweeter aligns with the center support?

I am in the market for a PX3-Pro and I was reading through the manual and there is an option for "Calman Service". Do you know what it does, since you guys are ISF and uses Calman as well. I contacted Calman and they said they might just have left it there? I also contacted Hisense but no reply from them either. Also left a post about it on AVSForum

Did I hear Phil correctly. A bulb projector using the iris can produce better contrasts and hence better blacks than a laser at a similar price point? Also says a lamp will be his preference over a laser for watching a movie. So how does this tie in with all the promotional fanfare re current crop of JVC laser projectors? Is the nx9 which is bulb based a better projector for watching 4k movies than its current youngest brother the nz900 on lets say a 100" 16:9 screen in a bat cave? Also lets wait and see how long a laser will actually last.

Sadly the Epsons have severe disadvantages compared to JVC and Sony Highend Projectors: - no native 4k resolution - bad black levels - low native contrast ratio The QL3000 and QL7000 are great for living rooms or presentation rooms!!!

I’ll stick with Plex and Apple TV. Movies often go on sale for $5-$15, and new releases are typically $20-$30. I have to commend Kaleidescape for their impressive marketing strategies. Out of curiosity, do KZbinrs promoting Kaleidescape write off part of the cost as a business expense? Are they offered discounts or given access to used units?

Guess I won't be upgrading my 5050 for another 10 years. These prices are out of my range. $3-5k + performance is the sweet spot that has always kept me a loyal Espon customer. I may have to look at the newer more competitively price to performance projectors to be announced in the future.

Answer these 2 VERY important questions cause they are not on your website and you didn’t answer in this video. 1) What percentage of what color space do these reproduce? 2) Contrast matters!!! What is the native contrast and what is the dynamic contrast?

So glad I found this video. I wanted to buy a refurbished EPSON EB-2245U for its price and brightness, also for the 3LCD technology. Having already a semi-portable home projector, the Xgimi Elfin, I wanted more light. The ANSI numbers that I saw on the Epson made me forget that I'm only using it for movies and gaming, a chapter that I am satisfied with my current projector. So yeah, I will skip a business projector, even if the price is good, since I care more about colors, black levels and response time. Thank you!

The new QL projectors have no competition IMO. 6,000 lumens for $15k? Can’t compare that to the similar priced JVCs. Not in the same ballpark. 10,000 lumens for $30K? A comparable Sony is $80k. Awesome to have options. Right now these Epson are in a league of their own.

Also this explanation of contrast is exactly why the BenQ HT4550i I’ve been using for over a year looks phenomenal with HdR despite having around 1100:1 native contrast. But this all falls apart in dark scenes. Contrast is contrast. Still, these things are going to be light canons and will be well suited to super big screens. LCD screens are getting enormous so projectors have to get brighter to drive larger screen.
@sage11xАй бұрын
I’m glad the demanding customers are getting taken care of. Meanwhile for the rest of us… the 5050Ub is 5 years old. The 4010 is even older and is still being sold with a straight face featuring HDMI 1.4. The 3800 is the cheapest projector with its zoom/lens shift… but it’s bulb, limited to rec 709, and not 4k. It’s clear to me Epson is pulling a Sony and abandoning the sub $5000 market to the DLP manufacturers.

@boomerps26 күн бұрын
The difference in price between the two make absolutely no sense to me. The winner is JVC at this price point.
@boomerps2Ай бұрын
If Epson's price point starts to encroach on JVC's price point then the product decision is easy. JVC, here I come! Crazy price point and WERE STILL E-SHIFTING....Not a native 4K projector
@trendyprojectors4743Ай бұрын
Epson's aggressive pricing is tempting, but JVC's native 4K resolution and E-shift technology still offer a superior picture quality. If the price gap narrows too much, I'll be a JVC customer.

Love watching higher end projectors Reviews that I CAN afford to Buy . Nice to see the movement to affordable Projectors that have (Laser light Autofocus Auto Keystone stereo sound , 2000 lumens or better ,HDR Vision Gigabyte storage 2.1 HDMI X2 and so on. All for two thousand dollars or less .Even Epson lower model for 7.999 is nut's and way to big for what it does .Quality does not mean getting a second mortgage even on Epson lower models . Just my 2 cents .

While i feel where you are coming from, expensive vs not expensive is subjective. I am a true believer in supply and demand pricing. Luckily, i feel like there are a lot of options coming that are cheaper and perform well. But 6000 lumens is expensive basee on the market. Or course, there is a sizable dealer markup in the msrp.
@roguewarr4662Ай бұрын
@@bigjack79 I agree , but this the time of the year people hibernate for winter and think about maybe buying a projector ,and if they turn to the internet for information about projectors and come across video's like this one ,they might get the impression they'll need to spend more then what they want to get a good projector .It's a tough world out there for the first time buyer ,and the last thing they want is to be discouraged from overly high prices . JVC AND SONY are in this High NIT LUMENS war driving prices up ,And not necessarily making better picture quality. Again just my 2 cents .Thanks

@@roguewarr4662 I see where you are coming from. I run an old Sony projector. I am much more into sound than video. I did, however, preorder the valerion pro max projector, which was on Kickstarter for $2200. Based off what I saw, it has similar performance to a 5-7k projector with good tone mapping. My Sony 295ES is a great projector, but it os 1500 max lumens and closer to 1000 on a large screen after a few 100 hours. The Valerion is laser and has been measured to do 2400ish lumens.

The Strato V is more expensive than a 4K Blu-ray player but if are looking for the absolute best picture and sound quality, want access to the largest selection of 4K and HDR movies and desire beautiful interface noting beats a Kaleidescape. BTW the movies pricing is comparable to blu-rays and the rental price is about the same as streaming rentals.

You can still get projectors with 3d for the fans who have a large library of 3d movies, something the companies that make TV's, forgot. You also don't get reflection of objects on projector screens like you do on glass. Projectors are also still affordable and within the price range of the majority of the public.
