Al always had that ministering voice in him. His songs always sounded like gospel. It was never far from who he truly is and how he was raised. So it was inevitable that he would eventually convert back to a gospel artist. Love me some AL Green. Nobody else sounds like him.

I saw him at the Apollo in the early 70's. That man stood about 20 feet from the Mike and you could hear him crystal clear. Everyone in the house stood up and gave him a standing ovation. One of the purest voices of all time. A legend.

One time I went over to my son's house to use his computer. While sitting at his desk, I noticed an Al Green CD. I said to myself, "What is Brian doing with an AL Green CD?" I took it home with me, thinking it was mine and somehow found it's way over to his house. He called me a week later and asked me if I had seen it. I said "yes, but it's mine, isn't it?" He said, "No, it's mine, Mom" I said, "What are you doing with an Al Green CD?" He said, "Don't you understand, I grew up with his music, you use to play his CD.s all day, every day. I said... sheepishly, "oh"
