How do you convince on office to train you

It’s so crazy to me how other states work and what people are allowed to do. I live in Massachusetts and we don’t have to have any of those certifications in order to do sealants, polish teeth, cement temp crown, etc EFDAS are unheard of here I’ve been assisting for 2 years now the office I work at hired me after doing my internship there and started me at 20 and now I make 25 after 2 years. Now if I move I will def get my CDA but it’s just crazy to me how many certifications you have to have in other states in order to perform all the things I already do just as a RDA

It is crazy how different each state is. It takes a lot of research on your own to find what you're actually allowed to do. I moved from Ohio to Oregon and I thought it would be easy for my credentials to transfer, I was WRONG. Also CDA, DDA, EFDA is not always the same duties it can have different functions depending on the state and what you're allowed to do. If you ever plan on moving definitely research DANB first!

How can you progress in a specialist office as a dental assistant in NC??

Just started my new job as a dental assistant. Fresh out of school. I felt overwhelmed, everything is paperless. A FMX is done with pan & 4bitwings with a portable x ray digital . Super fast pace. We don't do alginate impressions. We have digital impression system and make the night guards and crowns in our lab. Any advice helps?

You'll get the hang of it . it takes time . and trust me its better to be in a office that is up to date on Technology than be in one that's not

In my opinion, endo is boring. Very repetitive. BUT any specialty office you go to, will typically pay more than just a general office.

Is RDA a good educational field/degree to pursue for someone in the age area of late 30’s/40, I’m highly thinking of a career change, our area/community college offers an accredited program that is really flexible with the RDA program,and would work well for my schedule, loving all your videos and that cardigan is super cute! 😃
