so what do I do if my gear shafts/cogs aren’t spinning freely no one has made a video about it so I have no clue, any help or a link to a video explaining it would help

It's nigh on impossible to diagnose something like this by text. It could be many things really. You could start by replacing the gear cluster and take it from there. They are not very expensive

In my opinion, you forget to check if your piston is in compression stroke or in exhaust stroke (by the valves)... So it is possible you have to turn your flywheel another 360. Please correct me when i'm wrong

You should always do it on the compression stroke. You would find it difficult to set it on the exhaust stroke because the cams would be opening the valves and it would not stay at top dead centre You should only be able to put the cam sprocket on to the cams in one direction and therefore it would always be correct even if you did manage to do it on the exhaust stroke it would still be ok as the flywheel creates a spark every time the flywheel passes the pick up. On the exhaust stroke it is called a wasted spark as there is no fuel to burn.

the engine is usually the best part of these bikes. It's the rest of the bike that usually falls apart. If you are able to keep it in a garage and you wash it and service it they will last you

I know this is old but maybe I will get a response. My boy has a minijeep gokart 125cc. The original engine went out so I bought a replacement. Should have been a simple swap and go thing. Old and new engine look identical, same 2 plug ins/wires same colors everything. Got it all hooked up and when I finally got it started the gear selector shows the incorrect gear. More importantly it will not move at all no matter what "gear" is selected. For example when the selector shows (R) you can feel the engine lurch for a split second but then no movement. Same for when any other gear is selected. This is a brand new engine with like 5 minutes of idle time on it and I don't quite understand what may be wrong and I really don't want to take it apart if it is something more simple.

It could be that the clutch plates are stuck together. The gear indicator if youre talking about a digital readout is just an electrical pickup on the end of the selector barrel Is r for reverse There's no reverse on the pitbike engines Does it have a seperate gearbox for reverse Its nigh on impossible to diagnose faults like this without looking at it really

I came to find out what's the third hose from the tank. Mine just has an open hoes that leads down to drip at the back of the bike. I thought it's for condenstation or something. Still not sure. I can see it use to have a filter. Mainly why I'm asking. Also something is moving in the tank now that I'm moving it around with a bunch of viniger.

the third hose is a breather. it allows condensation to escape but also air to replace the fuel your using. Sorry no idea what's in your tank

I'm sorry I dont have any around me at the moment to check You can measure the shaft, measure the hole and the thickness and there are bearing guides online you can put the measurements into that will tell you the number of the bearing you need I hope this helps

But on my carb f650 from 99 there is a tiny horizontal hole in the head right next to the right spark plug. As i saw on some Fotos in the Internet it is normal and Stock, so the previous owner didnt do anything weird😂 But im very interested in the reason for the hole. Can you explain it to me or is it different with the head from the GS?

Hey I have a new hot cams timing chain with my new cams and it's very very hard to get onto the cams cuz it's so tight I understand what your going through I had to put my cams in a certain way it was hell idk if I have it timmed right I over tightend my cam caps so gotta order new ones 😭😭😭

i have some chinese 125cc pit bike... its started to make like a metal slapping sound when riding, in every gear , but it stops making the noise when the bike is in neutral or with the clutch pulled in. im assuming something in the gearbox is ratting around like a tooth broken off maybe? hopefully its something obvious like that.... it runs well and still shifts and rides fine just that noise of impending doom is forcing me to do something before its too late. ever had some mystery noises like that before only while in gear? as far as i can tell its not the primary chain but possibly could be the cam tension chain

It could be the timing chain tensioner i suppose What type of tensioner is on your engine It could be a few things i suppose. I would start to take it apart and see what you find

@@motorcyclefixer i have pulled the motor out planning to take it fully apart and look for anything wrong, but since the first step is to remove the timing chain and head i guess i should check the tension and see if its sloppy. i know i had this head off before buti can't remember how the tensioner works. theres bolts on the bottom but theyre all screwed in fully so there is no 'locknut' kind of adjustment from what i see. but i have no idea what im looking at since im new to this stuff. sorry for being vague but im wondering if you have any generic advice for me? i guess to start i should figure out what kind of motor im working on(aka which motor china cloned it from, if any) and find some documentation

I would take it back to the dealer and get them to make sure it's ok. And no it's not normal for it to go like that. They could have sheared a seal during assembly or something

Hi, my rear brake is firm now and not spongey at all, but it feels like it has no stopping power unless i push the brake all the way down and lock the wheel up. My rotor and brake pads are fine in diameter according to the manual and seem to be in fine condition. Any idea what could be the issue? Thank you! 🙏

it could be the brake linings. are they too hard or have they been contaminated with oil or grease. Are they wearing equally ? Is the brake carrier seized so its only braking on the piston side? Get the caliper off and inspect it

Thanks for the video. I’ve seen numerous descriptions of how to bleed the brakes, but this was the clearest and most concise. I’ve bled the rear brake on my 98 Bandit 600, and changed the pads, but still too much travel in the pedal. I’m going to try bleeding again, with this method, and hopefully fix the problem. Cheers!

1 and a quarter turns out on the fuel screw to start I cant remember the valve clearances off the top of my head sorry. They'll come up on google though

hello mate i’m getting the same problem with the gears but also the kick start gos solid to, took the flywheel cover off got a socket on there and it freed itself it’s done it again but i pushed the bike and it freed itself up bit baffled to what it could be does it whist your kicking it running fine now but i would like to find out what could be causing the issue cheers

it could be a sticky valve but it also could be a number of other things. i would take it apart to see what's going on with it
