Is it safe? I’m being serious. Every time, recently in modern era China shows one of these amazing structures it turns out later on a ton of corners were cut.

The fact that this is even a second-tier city makes it even more shockingly amazing, I mean here in Africa, if you combine all the best cities in the whole of Africa, it would still be an insult to compare them to Hangzhou 😂😂😂😂, someone needs to wake Africa up, it's still sleeping 😂😂😂

Egypt: _"Build something so amazing people won't believe it's real"_ China: _"Uh.. Okay.."_
As a young man, China was primarily a peasant economy, and the only things coming out of China were cheap plastic toys. There was civil strife, and then, within a couple of generations, all this. They appear to have leap-frogged another generation and are now living in the future.

Nothing spectacular, every city looks similar to this in China. The rest of the world are in a 3rd world state doesn't mean we are good enough.

No, this is not a typical library in China. Infrastructure in China is now maxed out, as China is now broke.

China is a dystopian communist police state. The average Chinese worker makes only 1/5 as much money as an American worker.

This is depressing on so many levels. The very first thing that I thought of was how all of those empty buildings are were paid for from accumulated investments and life savings from retirees, wich are basically null and void now. Thank you, Evergrande, right? But you cleverly worded the title. This city is designed and ABLE to hold 500,000. But it is not even 15% full. And based on a multi decade trend, it will NEVER be full, and I would wager that there will be less than 5% left within 20 years. And thats if you only blame it on the two decade birthrate decline. Maybe electing a new leader could help kickstarting a "reset" campaign. Oh, wait. . .nevermind.

Communist China is a dystopian nightmare. Foreigners must report to the police before they may ride the train, if their social credits are in order.
