What a crazy fix my man. Congrats; you clearly have DIY energy. Consider attaching nickel strip across that gap for higher current rating than a blob of solder. If it works, it works though. Good video.

while there is still carbon left on the brushes what you have to worry about is brush chattering because the springs get weaker and apply less force to keep them against the com bars, so when you see it sending lots of sparks, that is why

Hey can the PS belt be removed from the top of the car? I need to do this with my wife's X1 xdrive28i. I'm thinking I'm not going to get to the belt from below since it's AWD.

I wish to FUCK I had watched this BEFORE I bought one of those, because they all do the same shit. Now it's too late to return it for a refund. Money down the toilet, and I have a few other cordless Milwaukee tools as well, the 1/2" and 3/8" impacts, work excellent, the 3/8" drive ratchet, awesome. The angle die grinder, what a piece of absolute crap. It STOPS without hardly any pressure at all. My little air Snapon die grinder will put it to shame.

Glad you could repair it. You didn't have to drill holes in that display board - and you might have been drilling through copper tracks on the underside of the circuit board! To remove the display board to get at the main board underneath, you just squeeze the tops of the little white nylon posts that hold the small board above the main board. Your seems to have two types of nylon post - three "squeeze to release" posts (look at the top of the posts, they have a centre and two sides, just squeeze the sides in to the centre with fine pliers, and lift the board up off the post) and one nylon screw, just use a screwdriver to undo the screw. The solder repair - it would be better to carefully clean off the damaged track, then solder it with flux-cored solder, no need to use solder flux paste. (That's more for plumbing.) Sometimes I repair a broken track by soldering a length of suitable wire across the break - just solder it to each side of the break. It depends if you had room for a wire inside the casing. Still, well done for repairing it.

I am currently trying to do the same repair, but there's a bunch of metal tines on the right side that I'm pretty sure are soldered? Help please lol

I just worked on a RENOGY ROVER BOOST. It is a 10A controller with a 30A fuse. They use a little surface mount hall effect current sensor. Whatever the customer did, it blew the leads off the current sensor. The current sensor is still fine, it just doesn't have any leads. There are numerous design issues with this unit. Renogy puts cosmetics over design.

My Rover (40 amp, same model) used to charge my bank to 14.4, then they'd rest to 13.4, and super hot, last a long time. Now, two years later, the charger is now stopping at 13.0. It won't charger higher the batteries any higher. I have tried with multiple batteries/banks/configurations. Ideas, please?
@chronobot200120 күн бұрын
It's too bad companies don't provide schematics anymore. Everything is considered disposable. My guess is one or more of the mosfets inside have failed. It could also be failed caps. I would open it up and look for burned spots or leaky/bulging capacitors.
@FathomlessJoy18 күн бұрын
@@chronobot2001 Thanks. And you're right. But it turned out to be the panels. I bought a cheaper 60amp controller (PwrMr and it is GREAT), and it does the same thing.

Lame video. Problem not fixed. And definitely not a quick video
@skinyc1110 ай бұрын
Hey man, this video is a lifesaver for some. One quick note, that second belt actually runs the PS, which on later models got replaced with an electric version. Its why so many people with the early US E84's get confused when suddenly there is a belt they didn't expect in the way. Its what makes an otherwise simple job a giant PITA. I would love to see you do this again and show the re-tensioning process on that secondary belt. You do a great job explaining it, but if you aren't someone who regularly turns wrench there are some details missing, and it would help a ton of folks. There really should be a video on just that belt, because its not fun going in blind, and there is NOTHING out there that covers it in detail that i could find.

You should try phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer and performs works better than traditional pastes. On the power section (vrm) and vrams I advice to give thermal putty Upsiren UX Pro is more efficient than the K5 Pro. Also do undervolting.

Great video, finally was able to understand why this controller caused me tendonitis even without being a pro player that plays fighting games or shooters. This controller is not designed for big hands, even when being similar to the Xbox One controller, MS decided to reduce the case size, and if your hands are big, it will feed odd to hold especially in the fingers that are in the backside and even pressing the triggers felt weird for me, ( The new dpad also hurts if you'd like to play hardcore retro games like Super Metroid, contra, or castlevania) Also, I had a physical problem with the controller in which the left stick was putting back pressure on my finger, like if you were pressing a coil spring which started my pain, had to get it fixed and then I sold the controller. First time in my 20 years playing games that I got this pain, not even playing games like Zelda or Kid Ikarus on an N3DS or the weird N64 controller was this painful for me If you experience pain with this controller, don't try to keep using it if you can't adapt after using it for 1-2 weeks, your hands are truly important

Idk about more power but much cleaner than aux jack input. You can stream playlist from phone. Less crunchy sounds from that and can turn them up farther with less of what you don't want.
