Rega’s also dont have their own center caps unlike the SW388’ spoon center caps, so if you want caps you’d have to mismatch spoon caps with your rega’s which some could see as a bad thing. Late to comment but I just received my Tomei Type D for my FL5 and the box arrived undamaged and everything inside was well packaged with lots of bubble wrap and cardboard around all the pieces. From the earlier comment about the box arriving crushed, that sounds like a major shipper failure and not something that would happen even with the normal abusive handling of packages. Don't let the click-bait title and first part of this video deter you from ordering this exhaust.
@KevinTa0222 күн бұрын
@@speedrocker13 Title is just my personal opinion. In my opinion, it is the worst exhaust I could have bought. I prefer flanged > slip joint connections. The tomei is cheaper quality mass produced titanium, and it has a disgusting amount of rasp past 3000 rpms (don’t even want to know what it would sound like if you had a downpipe.) The silencers are also terrible to bolt in. The damaged package was just icing on top for the title. I like the weight savings with titanium, but now i’d have gone with a Rampage catback, boost logic valved or even other stainless steel options. Again, this is just my personal opinion. Can’t speak for everyone, but I got sick of my tomei VERY fast.
@speedrocker1322 күн бұрын
@@KevinTa02 Everyone has their own taste for sure when it comes to exhaust sound. I was mainly pointing out that the damaged package is a reflection on the shipper and not of Tomei. From what I see, the material quality, welds and fitment on the Tomei are extremely good. My silencers will stay in their plastic bags and stores away somewhere never to be installed, so I can't speak to that specifically but yeah since they predrilled one hole, they should have predrilled them all so it was purely a bolt on process. I wish they didn't drill the one hole since it's offset from the center which seems intentional but confusing to me from an aesthetic perspective.

I feel your pain. I bought an auto 97 M3 (with the intention to convert it). Before I could procure all of the parts for the swap, the auto trans takes a shit - stays in 3rd. After the swap, fan blade explodes and takes out the radiator. After the electric fan conversion and new rad, parking brake shoe springs blow apart within the rotors while driving. After replacing all of that, vanos takes a shit. After rebuilding the vanos unit, I fried the battery with a loose coil pack harness connection. After the battery, the belt tensioner siezes up and shreds the belt. Now im waiting on the belt and tensioner, along with the next thing to break 🫠🤑

I started using Chemical Guys' Hydro Spin when I got my new RPF1s a few weeks ago. The wheels still pick up a bit of brake dust, but it wipes right off. Using the Hydro Spin like a detailer, it cleans the wheels and then leaves another thin ceramic coating each time. Everyone should definitely use some kind of ceramic coating on new wheels; when applying to old wheels, they need to be absolutely showroom clean. You hit the nail on the head: prep is the most important part.

Hi, what is your opinion about the M50 2.0 6 cylinder motor for e36? (and if it has vanos, single vanos, how bad is that?)
@KevinTa02Ай бұрын
M50’s seem great for boost and reliable for daily driving if kept stock (and all E36’s have single vanos.) Doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing! (Double vanos came out with e46’s.) Whether it’s single or double everyone has to eventually do vanos maintenance.

What makes a B52 reliable? Hey @Kevin Ta, in you video you mentioned that" the M52- in my 328 is thee most reliable BMW motors". I have been looking to buy a 90's 3 series as a daily driver, I hear that the M50 B25 is the most reliable because of it's steel block unlike the m52 with an aluminum block. I am curious what makes the M52 a reliable Bmw engine. Thanks and all the best.
@KevinTa022 ай бұрын
“One of the” most reliable bmw motors. Some 328is’ came with iron blocks as well! In my opinion both M50 and M52 alu block are extremely similar reliability wise when kept OEM or FBO (and of course taken care of when it comes to cooling.) As my daily driver the farthest I would push it is FBO. Once it comes to boosting then I hear M50’s are slightly more boost friendly but M52’s are still a great option. However, once you start adding boost to any motor then you enter no man’s land when it comes to reliability!

On a tight budget, folks should also look at used oem wheels. Subaru has decades of premium oem wheels made by BBS and Enkei, and can be found online for relatively cheap if you're shopping for practical wheels that look better than what you have, but don't need them to be perfect. Also, compare prices on different sizes - you may think you really want those new wheels in 18", but sometimes you can get the same width in 17" which will save some weight and money, especially once you factor in the cost of new tires, and also give you a little more sidewall (pothole dent protection).
