19:10 The reason why Hulkenberg's synergy is doing so little damage here is because you're using it from the back row. Remember, your melee damage decreases as a trade-off for increased defense. Moving the character to the front row when they make a physical-based attack or synergy will make it hit harder. (for physical-based synergies, I don't think both party members have to be in the front row, just the one making the attack)

Can confirm it’s just the one actively using the attack in the synergy that needs to be in the front! That’s the trick w physical elemental skills. You see electric and your brain thinks “magic, I can use this in the back row no problem!” But it’s a PHYS elec attack, not a magic one so the front row damage scaling applies!

Nico, if any of your party members want to talk on the runner to progress their social link. Just travel to any of the nearby villages (like the one you visited beginning of this episode). You will be able to hang with them on the way, and immediately return to base and spend the night however you want, since you technically did not go to a dungeon. So essentially, nothing was lost, and you just consumed one day event like you would do with any other activity.
@DarknessDpa21 күн бұрын
Funny enough you can even visit dungeons too and do the same thing. You only lose that time as soon as you step inside the dungeon itself but the prep area before it doesn't count.

I'd say that one thing that draws a lot of people to Louis is that for a massive chunk of the population, he's the only one who's willing to call things as they are. We've seen that Euchronia is a kingdom absolutely riven with divisions and corruption: The whole starting cutscene where the king dies begins with a clergyman taking a bribe while a beggar is kicked into the mud by a noble for the crime of sullying his eyes with his presence. "A land grotesque as its people" indeed. As far as the righful law of the land is concerned, Paripus, Eugief, and many other Tribes are simply less than full people, and any argument to the contrary is madness. A Mustari man weeps how he can't afford medicine for his sick daughter because Mustari aren't allowed to work in jobs that pay enough. A Paripus is hung for crimes he probably didn't even commit because by sole virtue of being Paripus, it is "common sense" that he must be a lowly criminal. These are how things are by deliberate design. They are "as things should be", and why do those who protest not see that self-evident truth? That is what the law says. Surely only a "madman" would say otherwise. People follow Louis because he is a fellow "madman" who says what they've been thinking all along. Because he says that the entire structure of religiously-enforced racial inequality is wrong. So what if he killed the king? What did the king ever do for them as they were beaten and treated like trash just because they were born? Louis might be mad, but so is the entire world they live in.

Another thing I'd like to add is how the game makes sure that it's clear that your party members aren't "normal" people. Strohl and Hulkenberg, being the party members who come from privileged tribes (at least up to this point) are presented as people with good reasons to be sympathetic to the lower tribes. Strohl, by his own account, was a typical privileged noble who looked down on everyone until he had to watch his parents die and he realized that they were trying to teach him that being a noble should be about holding up those less fortunate, and Hulkenberg had her pride shattered by not being able to defend the prince, spending years on the road as a disgraced knight after that (and probably relying on other people's kindness to even survive). It's not like your party are just randomly good guys. They have good reasons to be against the current system, being from "lower" tribes themselves (Heismay, Gallica, the protagonist) or being from privileged tribes but going through experiences that taught them the system is wrong (Strohl, Hulkenberg)

19:11 The reason why Magic Knight's Hammer was going so little damage was because physical attacks of any kind will deal less damage when in the back row, and Hulkenberg was in the back row. As a reminder, the front row deals more physical damage but takes more damage, and the back row deals and takes less damage, with the exception being magic and Gunner skills.
@bluestrawberry67914 күн бұрын
Technically, its that skills that are classified as "Melee" do less damage. The game does not actually give you any way to know which ones are though. For the most part, it is just that physical skills are Melee and magical ones are not, but in addition to the gunner, there is at least one more exception, although I'm pretty sure its actually an oversight.

The skyrunner is one of my favourite dungeons in this game for a couple of reasons. First of all being that it gives you a more unique challenge. It's a proper infiltration mission that requires you to be fast and efficient, understanding the weaknesses of the bosses that you're facing in order to finish the battle as quickly as possible. Really having you make use of your party's strengths in order to get the most out of each turn. The second being on a more narrative level, in that we get to see the sorts of people who follow Louis and how he runs his personal army. Although you can certainly make fun of the fact that none of them are going to tell anyone that they got beaten up and the newbies took their keys, I think it goes to highlight the weakness that's inherit in how Louis runs things: he accepts all who prove themselves worthy, or whom he deems to have merit. Yet what we see is not a place of equality: we see an army that's run on 'might makes right', and the reason why all of the bosses don't tell others what's happened isn't just because they're too proud. It's because they're afraid of losing their power. After all, it's what Louis seems to respect the most. And if those who are supposed to be leaders can be stomped by a pack of newcomers, where does that leave them in Louis' world of 'merit'?

It's one of the reasons I enjoyed the general process of playing this game, because I didn't have to worry so much about meta gaming it. I just did what I wanted to when it was available and it was fine. Even compared to P5, which was the most lenient game up to that point, still had a good deal of micromanagement to ensure you got the most of your time, but that's not really a thing in Metaphor. It's a shame to see Nico get so caught in the weeds that it seems to be impacting his enjoyment when it doesn't actually matter.

About the route planing, the game is very smart about it: - Going to a town (not a dungeon) will have you spending the morning in the runner and then you can teleport back, giving you a free night in the city - This means you can always go to a town to advance a party members with a "runner dialogue" without wasting any time, as it takes the same amount of time as any regular social link - When leaving a place you aways have the option of teleporting back or setting up camp, camping means you can continue to travel from the dungeon to somewhere else while also giving you acess to a night activity in the runner Edit: if you go to a dungeon but decide to not enter (opening the doors) then it functions like a small town and you don't lose a night, meaning you can also use them to advance party members
@mastermindmonokuma22 күн бұрын
You have probably already been told this but I'll post this just to be on the safe side. Be sure to do the Tower dungeon in this segment before the deadline for Brilehaven ends, this is so you can encounter Catherina to do her Follower event. If you miss or skip this dungeon to do it later, she will move her runner and will never show up on the road ever again, essentially locking you out of completing her follower events. This makes her the only Follower who you can lock yourself out of completing. Many people have had this happen to them because they thought they could do it later without issue only to realize later that she stopped advancing. As a side effect your essentially locked out of further brawler classes and ANY classes that have them as a requirement. It is honestly the most fucked up things you can accidentally miss in this game and im not sure if its by design or an oversight the developers never noticed.

@DRAG0NSPIRIT1022 күн бұрын
@@krasherom I don't think Alonzo's would be quite the same, if you're implying about potentially getting locked out if you don't do his quest before leaving. Though I've not personally tried leaving Martira before finishing his quest, BUT his quest has no deadline. If they meant for his quest to be time sensitive (i.e. must be completed before you leave Martira) they would've given it a deadline for before you leave the town. I also don't think they'd do that since you can't even start his quest unless you have a high enough Royal Virtue. I think Alonzo would just be left waiting in Martira till you eventually start his quest. As to be brutally honest he's not an important NPC. I enjoy him as a character, but he's not a key player in the overall plot. His little cameo in the Martira story sequence is the only time he pops up in a story section. So him being left in Martira for most of the game (if you put off his stuff) won't affect anything. While Catherina is a candidate, it wouldn't make sense for someone aiming for the throne to sit around on the map whilst the tournament she's competing in is on the other side of the kingdom.
@mastermindmonokuma22 күн бұрын
@@DRAG0NSPIRIT10 Right its an oversight because her ranks during certain parts require running into her on the map, but she moves after a deadline passes, this wouldnt apply to anyone who just stays in certain locations. It might be possible that some you can be locked out of if you dont start them before a certain point in the story but thats just a guess from me. As far as Catherina is concerned because her ranks are tied to fighting her on the runner if you miss one your done. Most people who had this happen are either not used to Persona social links or just assumed that she wouldnt move cuz gameplay logic. I only learnt about it myself from people panicing about it on Gamefaqs boards.

Yes, you can decide your route piecemeal if you want, instead of picking a final destination. Pick a place, and then at the end of the day pick a new place.
@TimeAxis22 күн бұрын
You aren't really supposed to be aware of the specific stipulations for Follower availability (most people don't have comments/chat telling them exactly how it works, and aren't expected to know). The game is just intentionally slowing down your progress with them so you don't progress too quickly, so that the stories are paced out throughout the game, and as you can see some of the rewards have to do with party members being in reserve, which is not relevant to you yet, so it would be a waste to get those early. Them locking you out at arbitrary points is their way of encouraging you to do other things that you might not do otherwise (without being so strict as to lock you out entirely with story progress). Otherwise, you might speedrun all your followers asap and then only see the more efficient royal virtue events from later towns. The game's calendar isn't nearly strict enough to need to worry about minmaxing to that extent, especially when doing the dungeons in one day like you have been.
@krasherom22 күн бұрын
Something I noticed, if you going to a dungeon that has another one on it's path, than that one on the path will be treated the same as the Small Towns/Gauntlet Runners you encounter UNLESS you visit the dungeon. In which case that will cause the day to end prematurely as the party will have "spent time/been exhausted" afterwards. After that, you will be given the option to Return to town or Camp. Return to town is obvious, but it's Camping that's VERY important if you want to be optimal. If you camp, then you get the option of continuing your journey and choosing your next destination from that spot rather than from town. That way, while you will spend a bit extra time by conquering the multiple dungeons. It will be less time wasted overall and you still have access to your nights when you camp for any extra activities rather than losing them from returning to town.

Regarding how to farm in this game: Money - kill a bunch of low level enemies with merchant MC, you should be familiar with it already. Archetype EXP - You might have forgotten, but when a character has mastered an archetype already and gained 1k A-EXP on it, they instead produce a Heros Leaf of Light which is a 1k A-EXP item, so the best method if you wanna level a specific archetype on someone quickly is to have all other party members on an archetype they already mastered, so you can level said specific archetype faster by the amount of other party members. Later on, you'll also fight overworld mimics and you can use thief MC so when you stagger or kill them in the overworld, theres a 50% chance theyll drop an A-EXP item. This method works better on overworld mimics that can respawn (the one you fought in this episode doesnt respawn, for example) or when their level match yours so you can stagger them, go into a fight and immediately exit out of it so you can stagger them again. MAG - Have as many party members possible with the skill Debt Collection on an Archetype theyve mastered. You get the skill by mastering Merchant so you can just have everyone on that class, but if you inherit the skill to a different archetype make sure said archetype is mastered. Go into a battle against an enemy thats on par level wise with you so you can stagger them first, then repeatedly use debt collection. However, before the enemy breaks free out of stun, make sure you kill them so you get Unscathed Victory bonus. This method is very MP-heavy as Debt Collection costs 100 MP *per use* so only do this when you have reliable way of MP recovery, or when youre about to exit a dungeon as you wont need MP anymore.
@DarknessDpa21 күн бұрын
Legit I don't ever remember having to farm for any sort of money or Mag since I was just standardly on Merchant for a good bit up until this specific point. Never once did I use the MAG stealing skill at all either. So one tip is to try and prioritize getting more turns when you can. This can sometimes even mean passing when you have a full icon and the character you're on has nothing to hit weakness and the next character does (or has a more useful action in general). You aren't actually losing a turn in this scenario since you're getting the half turn back as a refund, and the character getting the extra turn might have more useful actions. Of course, you shouldn't ever pass when you're currently on a half turn icon in this game since it'll just use it up without getting another half turn, even if you still have full turns on your line up (this actually varies in other press turn games). Getting as many turns as you can is the key in the press turn system. Similarly, it's often best to hold off on moves that can't hit a weakness until you're on a half turn, since using a full turn icon means losing a potential extra turn since you can't get the half turn icon with that one once it's used up

For some reason, securing the infiltration route is what triggers the coliseum to be opened. Wonder how that works.

Quick tip: if you’re on the runner day and night, you can cook 2x per day (afternoon and evening if both segments are spent on the runner) Also there’s another comment/thread about it but just in case: physical elemental skills are still physical so their damage is nerfed in the back row! If it’s a synergy skill, whichever characters turn it is should be in the front to use it, but the assisting party member can stay back if needed! Happy holidays!!

nahh , even in the cutscene when the prince is attacked , we don t see louis at all , and since he s so forthcoming with "yes , i did kill the king" the fact that he didn t mention anything about the prince is weird , this is totally a mislead , the true culprit might be folden instead.

28:26 I think with the prices of equipment at least in my case when I played through I would clear our side objectives for the area and take any new equipment from there, then buy whatever is still needing upgrades after I've done that. I made the mistake of buying things early sometimes and immediately getting the same equipment or better when I went into the optional dungeons.

You dont have to be so optimal with your followers because you will 100% max them all out and have plenty of time leftover at the end.

Back row- more defense, less physical offense Front row- less defense, more physical offense

This applies to whether a move is physical or not, regardless of elemental type. Magic and the Gunner physicals are not effected by this.

That last fight on the gauntlet runner definitely showed that the game mainly expected you to go out and train a little first at some point to have a much easier time dealing with them. Also as such I was able to win first try on Hard mode because i suspected that we had to face the other guy at some point since we were out of rooms on the ship to go to, I just expected a back to back fight, not the same one.

Just thought I should say this as you kind of got the wrong idea about what "physical" means with that electric attack. physical just means it uses strength as its damage stat and is weaker in the backrow (except gunner skills) and because you had hulkenburg in the back row it was weaker. a "physical electric attack" is just an electric attack that uses strength rather than magic and won't be affected by slash, piercing or bash weakness so they don't stack (but that attack would have done more damage if she was in the front row)

I remember abusing that dungeon's doorways my first time through. I'd fight til I need heals then hide in a room and heal off the minotaurs with Gunner

Tbh I didn't realize how many stipulations there were with bonds on the runner, I happened to do them all naturally on my first playthrough whenever they showed up. It'd probably break immersion or whatever but it'd be nice if they were open and clear about the prerequisites required for the next rank up with each bond.

man wouldn't it be funny if a NPC enemy run into an obstacle like a ledge or doorway for a few seconds then triggers an animation to traverse it like squeezing through a doorway or climbing a ledge Or would that just be seeing peoples first reaction to it
@Flutterdark_22 күн бұрын
as you probably have seen by now whenever you leave a dungeon you can set up camp. its usually useless but especially for brailhaven its good. when you set up camp you can choose to go somewhere else but it has to be connected with a path to your current location to go there. if you would have to go through a major city you cannot travel there from a place. so outside brailhaven works, the stuff outside martira doesnt.

You know Nico, some cutscenes fast forward but others skip. And it’s not just pre-rendered cutscenes that skip either, many that are structured like that scene on the bridge can be skipped. I can’t really find a reason for the inconsistency. It’s weird.

Why people side with Luise: hes been close to royalty for many years and have grown up as an intelegent and acomplished arcmage and military prodigy who surely gained much respect and rapor. All while claiming to do so for end goal of tribe-equality. That kind of reputation lingers with the general public, and he likely already had his inner circle loyal even before attacking the prince and the king. Hes still a heroic figure to the public, whos seemingly honest and stoic in his goals even in the face of the kings port-mortem democracy magic.

The whole thing with the party not hanging out before doing the main dungeon kept feeling off to me so I checked on them during my second playthrough and... they ARE available? I don't know if you had some bad timing for Martira or if there is more too it but when I was running around doing stuff in this town I kept having the option available from the followers menu and even remember being able do the same in my first run of the game. My recommendation if you have an old save file from before you tackled the dungeon, check if there's a red icon in the follower menu next to any of the party members as they SHOULD still be possible at this point so long as their next social link isn't one that requires a certain amount of a virtue or being on the gauntlet runner. Even for the latter, there should still be plenty of opportunities as there's the quest you can go in Brilehaven. Side Note: There is the small chance that Martira was just the odd one out as even the amount of time you spent there wasn't that long, so management of the Followers could've have been accidently locked out by sheer coincidence.(Mind you this part is just a guess) TLDR; Not having access to most Followers seems to apply only during the times when your moving between towns.
@Mathamus122 күн бұрын
The first 2 major deadlines(cathedral and Martira well) lock you out of your party member rank ups. I believe any deadline after that doesn't unless you are really close to it. I could hang out with party members in Brilehaven untill about 3 days before the deadline ended.

@Mathamus1 hmm... interesting. If this is the case then it makes sense but is also kind of odd.

Like the dungeons don't follow the same style, the followers also don't follow the same roadblock format. I'm pretty sure I wasn't blocked from doing follower quests before doing the main dungeon this time around. Old advices don't always apply the same way for each story beat. Personally some main dungeon are *murder* if you do them right off the bat while others are better to get out of the way.

I find it funny when Bizzle simps for Strohl, especially when you remember the player is young (idk the age but probably a minor), and Strohk is an adult who probably sees Bizzle as a little brother GET BROTHER ZONED FISH!!!

I don't think the player's too much younger than them since he's around the same age as the prince and Hulkenberg was still a kid when his attempted assassination went down.
