Just want to add on to your realization about escaping the dungeon after beating the boss: you don’t even need to use the item to return to the entrance because Plateau can do that. Alonzo’s is that type of social link where you think its the Devil arcana one with him being the crafty lying type and the one you get the Faker archetype from. So you just assume, “ah its the Tanaka/Ohya of this game, you probably aren’t gonna be that likable or someone I care much about.” But you learn how Alonzo isn’t that bad of a person, in fact it’s clear he cares about his foster mother and village. And then the game decides to immediately burn his village, *KILL HIS MOTHER RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU AND HIM, and now the whole village HATES him.* Alonzo even wished to take his own life before you stopped him on the next rank *since he felt it was his fault from all the constant lying,* like holy sh@t. Bro, this follower bond went from 7 to 11 in one session. Now I just feel horrible for this poor man. *Hands down* one of the Best Follower bonds in the whole game in my personal opinion. It’s honestly great. I beaten this game already and I still think how refreshing it is for Atlus to turn this usual setup of a Devil Arcana into something completely different and wild.

Alonzo's social link is hands down one of the top social links in Atlas history. Part 1: Starts you off with you being conned by him giving you the expectation of being a sleazebag, Part 2: He opens up showing he isn't such a bad dude and tugs at your heartstrings with his backstory along with the love and respect he has for his mother. Part 3: Then we have to watch as said mother dies right in front of him because she refused to lie about Alonzo not being her son, she could have done so and probably survived but adopted or not Alonzo is the son she raised and loved as her own and she would never deny that even if admitting it meant her death. Then the villagers Alonzo was trying to save verbally destroy him and all this poor man can do is take it. Part 4: He tries to outright commit suicide right in front of you and you have to talk him down from it, convincing him that taking his own life won't solve anything. This social link is a masterpiece of intriguing you from the very first interaction, locking down you interest and never letting it go for an instant. Also a couple things you'll want to know: In regards to blessed water you were asking about the coliseums Bronze II match reward (the next match you have there actually) gives you 10 blessed waters for its reward. Later on there is a village that sells 10 of each type of water and restocks the lowest tier of them (blessed water) but its not for a fair bit further into the game. Also there is no need to bother about continuing Bardon's social link for a fair while, you'll want to be around level 60 before attempting it.

If you manage to find Alonzo in Grand Trad it can lead to a different experience. When I played I found him all three times in the city, so my first impression was that he clearly gave off the air of a schemer but he clearly had a soft spot for his mother. Then when I met him again Martira, where he's playing the role "Cuculus" I was interested to see how long would it take for him to show his true side (the one I'd glimpsed from eavesdropping on him in the city) in front of me. I was was pretty surprised at how quickly he talked about his mother and then even more shocked that they then killed her off and Alonzo almost took his own life afterwards.

One detail of note to Bardon’s bond is that the progression of his link will have NPC dialogue in Martira changed to express their unease of the increased taxes for protection plus how the guards are spying on the villagers to keep them safe. Bardon means well in wanting to protect Martira but he has gone overboard with it that it resulted in people feeling miserable again & fearing him. This ultimately leads to a fair vote of Gastreaux winning.

Strohl's Max rank event was what convinced me this game was something special. I was in a voice call with one of my mates and when the moment Strohl gave his final speech about always being a step behind you as a player, effectively saying that no matter what he will be your hope whenever you may falter, I just had to read it back aloud to him because it hit me that it was such a well written moment. And props has to go to the voice actor himself for filling this moment with so much weight and emotion. Strohl has more than proven why he's the Heroic Embodiment of the Warrior. A man of honour and strength who uses both to not only set an example as a noble, but also to defend those he cares for and those who rely on him in turn. He was my first Follower I maxed out and I am very happy it was him. His story let me know that I was in for a wild ride with the rest of Metaphor, and I don't regret a single moment.

You went through a *lot* of bonds this episode so I have a lot to say about each of them since theyre all excellent, buckle up Maria: The Rank 6 makes my heart melt, as Maria finally moved on from thinking shes a burden to try to improve her own environment through her own ways. Not to mention the new sign on the inn is permanent, so you can literally see it as a sign of improvements to come. God bless Neuras for the assist too. Bardon: This is the rare time I wish you didnt progress so fast lmao, because the comments couldnt tell you beforehand that NPC dialogues in Martira changes after Bardon Rank 4. Definitely worth checking an older save to see it, if you can. Anyways, Bardon is an interesting case of a man that wants the best, but didnt realize the consequences of what hes done has put his town into a state of unease, with the increasing taxes for protection, spying and all, that his "rival" Gastreaux managed to win the poll fair and square. You can see how he got there and how he genuinely wants to keep the town safe, but he didnt realize he made Martira feels authoritarian. However despite being ousted he still holds love to Martira, as he gears up to save the town from the sandworm. Regarding the general archetype, with Formation of Vigor and Shelter Formation, thats the majority of buffs gotten for the party so you can see why its a very strong line in general. Matarukaja is just a downgrade from Formation of Vigor so you can ignore it. On the other hand, Frigid Fortress Tactic is an incredibly strong move because it loops Ice weakness onto an enemy giving you big damage and also half turns, so definitely use it a lot, and if possible inherit it to a stronger magic user. Strohl: I love how you see his resourcefulness, cunning, and also forwardthinkingness in his Rank 7, where he turned the table on Lord Hydran. From what seems to be a choice between abandoning the plight of his people and trampling upon those who still live in the area he is offered, he found a third way out while still helping his people. Strohls amazing. His rank 8 message of "the treasure is where your people are" is definitely cheesy but also poignant for him whos been struggling to be a true noble that lives for his people. He finally understand his parents vision. Regarding his tier 3 class Samurai, it can dish out a lot of damage but pay attention because it has the skill Sturdy Stance at max rank, which makes it impossible to dodge (so dont give him any dodge skills) but halves all damage taken. The value of this skill might feel underappreciated on him but on someone like Hulkenberg it makes a massive difference, so you can see it as a future goal to inherit this skill on her. Another thing regarding his synthesis skills, in this game *severe* does more damage than extreme, this trips up a lot of people so figured I'd warn you now. About the Grand Fantasy thing, dont worry about it for now. Brigitta: you can see how fucked up the sanctist church is, first by kidnapping brigittas dog to make her raze down a village, and later when she doesnt do it, they do it themself anyways and pin it to brigitta just to spread the word of magic igniter. You can also feel how brigitta turned into the woman she is now, how despite her bitter experiences in the past with the sanctist church shes biting through it just so she can get her revenge, only for the church to continue manipulating her regardless, and the despair she is going through right now. Alonzo: by how his bond starts you would expect it to be about learning how to con others, and that *is* true for his Rank 2. But its moreso about making a genuine connection to someone who has swindled their whole life to do the real benevolent goal he had in mind. Where he shares about his hometown and his mother to you. And then you hit the latter half of rank 3... Where your expectations of how the bond would go turn upside down. You might have expected to meet his mother and how she affected his life, considering the story you were given just prior about how impoverished he was and how his mothers smile was the only constant thing in his childhood, and instead you are greeted with his mother dying instead, the villagers blaming him for the burning of their place and his mothers death. Alonzo finally realized that his lessons to you, they were also applicable to him, as becoming a swindler makes him think he was above their tricks. just... man. And then his Rank 4, where you have to stop him from committing suicide, his trust in you and his mothers dying words the only thing that prevented him from actually doing it. fuck, man. Heismay: His pantsless-ness aside, his criticism of his village that became isolated after an incident but never tried to better itself afterwards, even blaming themself that it was inevitable and theres nothing that they couldve done, denying outsiders, and as Heismay himself put it, "this xenophobic nest", feels like a not so subtle jab at the period of Isolationist Japan went through, and other countries with similar policies. Where they only pretended to accept him, however behind his back they would drive him away by stealing his urn and hiding it. However, Heismay himself still feels like he shares similarities with the village, the inability to move on. When he confessed that he felt relief when his sons urn was stolen, it feels painfully real. Everyone has gone through that moment in their life in which they want to move on, but when a third party caused them to be unable to, they feel relief for not having the burden of responsibility. Its that he still wants to change and search for the urn, that shows how great Heismays will is. "I found a way to change, surely they too..." His bond 6 line says it more than anything else would, really. For the sake of the villages children, for the future where they can live more freely.

I like to think Alonzo really captures what makes the Followers in Metaphor feel special compared to Social Links. I can't think of many Social Links that are down to completely up end their set up and take you on a completely different direction like Alonzo's Rank 3. Which, given the amount of stuff you have to do, unlikely. 4:40 One of the convos you can have is with heismay while doing laundry, in which he describes how he hates doing laundry, and even tried to bathe with all of his clothes on to avoid having to do it. He gave up on the idea after getting cold while hanging himself out to dry afterwards. I guess if you’re gonna do less laundry, not wearing pants would be one way to do it…

So to answer your question on how to farm enemies that don't seem to respawn, just enter Akademia via the cat. Entering & leaving Akademia will automatically respawn enemies. This method is actually how I farmed a fuck ton of Archetype EXP items off a late game dungeon's enemies when I had the personal goal of "teach protag ALL classes".

Great investment on side quests and social links. ^_^ About Jin and his speach debate: He only speak for certain tribes (his own and clemar) and not all of them (Eldia, Eugief, Nidia, etc.), so it is right to say that "We should help anyone". The social links are so interesting, emotional, sad and tragic, especially Alonzo´s backstory and intentions are really unexpected, but very empathic, painful and well written. I like his character more now and hopeful it will end well.

55:02 So, the best way to item grind in this game is to set the MC on Thief for the hero passive, and learn the item rate up skill from merchant, but put that on everyone. Then just attack the enemies till they perish. After that you go to save kitty, go into academia, and immediately leave. Rinse and repeat until you're satisfied. There's a VERY good grind spot late in the game where you will want to do this, and I will make sure to point it out when you get there. Enemies respawn after a short period, or you can force a respawn by entering and leaving academia. Though the Elementa's are one time kill only, but you can reset if you haven't killed'em yet

Nico about the archetypal ring, the increase archetype exp gain doesn't stack so you shouldn't waste your time and money buying more for everyone one, it's also best to have the MC equips it because if one party members equips it, only that members will benefit from the effect, it just doesn't show it, but if the MC equips it, the whole party will get the increase Archetype exp gain evenly so keep that in mind, also how it works is that you have be in a squad battle for the effect to work, not overworld. i wouldnt worry too much about purifying gear atm as weapon shop gear and chest should be good enough for early to mid game. once you hit nearly the start of late game, it matters, but at that point the waters become pretty frequent blue item drops from dungeons edit: also dont worry about the Grand Fantasy thing either, its story locked atm

Once you have all conditions met for Strohl's Samurai class, I recommend looking into the Mage Lineage. Exclusively because the Mage Lineage has a few passives relating to Synthesis skills. The Wizard has a Rank 20 passive that doubles Synthesis Strength and Hit Rate. I recommend it for characters who you want to prioritise as a DPS. That skill is crazy strong.

So I did some research about the Blessed water and you can only get it from Pyrite Imitecs or a few scattered chests in dungeons. It looks like there might be an upcoming location where there might be a few but yeah Nico you might have accidentally screwed yourself out of those weapons. My advice is to run from all Imitecs and just steal as much of the different waters as possible from them before you kill them off from here on out. Most of the guides and such I'm looking at are somewhat vague but if you run into a pyrite one DON'T KILL IT!

About blessed water... Yeah, you're kinda fucked. The only way to farm infinite amounts of these items is the steal/escape trick on the mimic, the problem is that there are 3 types of mimics for 3 tiers of water and blessed water is only dropped by the lowest tier of mimic (You've killed all already, there are none left in the game). Your best bet now is advancing the coleseum ranking, it's not an infinite amount but should be enough for the items you have!

For the debate with Jin at around 39:00 I consider the first option to be adding fuel to the fire. You aren't cross examining him, like Ace Attorney, so you won't get to follow up. You're just giving him an opportunity to spout more of his rhetoric without throwing out your own. Bad idea. The third option is self-explanatory. It's baseless name calling. Smear campaigns do work, but not in live debates. It just looks like bullying. The second option isn't immediately obvious, but it's also the only choice where you voice your own ideals. Thus, the only viable choice. You have to remember to stick to your guns no matter what tactics the opposition chooses. Even if Jin's copying you, it doesn't mean you need to change your entire campaign in an effort to sound different.

The generals last move is insanely good if equipped on multiple people

Protective formation has saved me so often. you will basically never die to enemy ambushes in 1 turn again even on hard mode with it(as long as you just put everyone in the back row by default). It's a 50% defense boost, better than a rank 3 rakukaja, and stacks with other defense boost(like the other 50% reductions of being in the back row against physica attacks, meaning phyical attacks will do only 25% damage if you have everyone in the back row if my understanding of how it works is right). Also I did not know the mimics in tomb of lament did not respawn. there are still some places left where you can fight the right mimic for blessed water I believe(and they might even respawn there). and there is one moment in the game where you can buy about 20 of them at once. Alonso was my favourite follower, while Bardon was my least favourite. Not that Bardon was bad. Just cared the least about his story. They both have some great skills though.

Do not worry about not having enough magla or archetype experience to unlock everything you want to unlock. Not spoiling it (unless you actually want to know about it) but there is a late-game dungeon in which there is an absolutely broken farming spot for character exp, archetype exp, magla and money. I confess I abused it so I could unlock everything I wanted to before endgame. Again, not spoiling it unless you want me to.

Grand Fantasy, the Party member rank 8 perk, is plot locked. you cant activate this perk yet, and wont be able to for a while.

Strohl buying houses for his people, a roof over their head, was cool. I just don't get one thing. We saw that the old town is deserted. Why can't they just settle back now? He wanted to buy clean land without active residents anyway, the old land with roads would surely be simpler to use.

Yes! The protagonist's players first start appearing in grand trad a little after the tournament begins, then spreads to the other locations you visit! I believe gallica mentions that Maria and the hushed honeybee are either the one's who put them up or that they're your biggest supporters.

Wind Dodge is only good on the Samurai until it's at Rank 20. Then it is no longer able to dodge attacks thanks to Sturdy Stance. So you are better off not do it at all.

I'm the opposite. I vastly prefer the stories of characters like Alanzo and Bardon to the episodes that are nothing but fighting through a dungeon.
