Why is the distributor jiggling around? Sounds good I could tell you had a cam in it when it was started and idling.

Appreciate the breakdown, but why this platform?

Not sure what you mean, "this platform."

wILL it pass emissions?
@jmacengineshop29132 ай бұрын
I don't know. Most of my customers don't need to be concerned about emission testing.

Nice. Thanks for that information particularly about the cam and valves work.

Oh I like the rocker cover in Red, Not sure what is going on with the distributor shaft moving like that, either loose or something bent, still runs though. I'm an engine reconditioner by trade building race engines back in the day. ( over 30 years ago) 10: 1 sounds odd, but you have a different octane rating in the US to us in New Zealand. I fully "cc " my head after de-shrouding , oversized inlet valves , harden seats ,gas flowing, port n polish, then used a old crushed gasket for my calculations, on my spitfire mk3 head going to hang some mighty big Webers off it on the final race engine.

I believe it was the OPUS electronic ignition. It was replaced with a Flamethrower module by Pertronics

Sounds good & looks good - but what is that distributor? It's not the Lucas 25D or 45D I think the T1500s came with ex factory.

I oriented the distributor drive gear. You want a video on cam timing or ignition timing.

Talk talk talk. I thought you were going to set the timing.

Hi, did you discontinue the old emission system. I'm in the process of restoring a 1976 mg midget and trying to deal with this part of the 1500 engine.

I am in Southern CA. I have a 1966 Spitfire with an 1147cc engine that I would like to have rebuilt. Do you have a recommendation for a rebuilder in my area?
@jmacengineshop29139 ай бұрын
Sorry, I do not.

I'm very impressed with the video and the info provided on your website. I would be interested in chatting about my '74 TR6 to see if it makes sense in my case to get a rebuild. I sent an email via your website. This car needs everything so it will be what a 'learn' on. I have no idea what shipping would cost roundtrip. I could potentially either drop off or pick up to limit costs.

Looking forward to installing the one I ordered! Hopefully the rest of the car turns out as nice as your engines.

Jere you are a master mechanic! I can feel the compression on that motor through my phone. Real good numbers on compression. I’ll be running the Weber like you have set up with headers as well. I also have an oil cooler that I will have on it. On the 2296 cc engine the oil cooler seemed to bring down the oil pressure. Great job Jere. I am over the moon!

Words cannot describe how excited I am to get this engine back and into the Midget. Looks and sounds fantastic!

Howdy sir, do you happen to know what kind of horsepower these are pushing out after you've redone them? I've got a 1300 that I gotta get rebuilt soon
@mundanestuff2 жыл бұрын
Good demo, very instructive. I suspect this is very similar on the 1275 and A series engine in general, if not exactly, it's got to be close? My 1500 is going to need rebuilding at some point in the next few years and I hope this video is here when that time comes!

what does this go into?
@jmacengineshop29133 жыл бұрын
It is an MG Midget (1975-1979) or Triumph Spitfire 1973-1980) engine. It will fit either one.
