It's weird how in order to get an HDR upgrade, the movie has to go on the 4k format. We are already seeing movies that don't deserve the 4k label and Im okay with it because I am more concerned with getting HDR. 4K UHD needs to rebrand to something less specific.

I have to admit I'm kind of tired of looking at film grain in 4k. I love 70s films, and many of them do not look better at 4k.

Love my dvd slipcovers... I use them in place of the paper covers when I place my discs in discsox sleeves. They look fantastic !! You carefully cut them down the right side to perform the same as the paper covers when placed in the sleeves. Works and looks amazing when sleeved this way !! Love snapper cases for same reason... Looks premium in discsox dvd sleeves. 👍🥰

I have several films on VHS because they never made it to DVD, much less blu ray or 4k.

I stream, no cable for many years. I started buying g Blu-ray Discs at Bestbuy when they were on sale under 8 dollars. Started liking it, now I look for deals in eBay or Amazon. I buy the movies I would watch again. I care about sound effects as much as picture quality.

Got the bourne identity on dvd in a special edition slip case with bonus extras for 10p in a charity shop. That film was watched last friday and thoroughly enjoyed again!

In Japan almost all Blu-rays are region-code free, but the DVD version has a region 2 code: very funny. There are also "all region code" DVDs but it is less common. For 4K Blu-rays, we see that they are readable by any 4K BD player. It seems that 80% of Blu-rays are region-code free. So I wonder if these region code locks still make sense when you can buy a player that reads all region codes of DVDs and Blu-rays.

For 3D movies there is no option but Blu-ray.

VHS tapes never left in my home..I have hundreds of them..and several working VCR`s to play them on.

I had this player. I then bought 2 Panasonic DP-UB9000s, one for my bedroom the other for my living room and gave my Sony away to someone who had never had a dvd player. I can't believe there are people that have never owned a dvd player.

I use 17 liter really useful boxes. Moving my relatively small physical media collection was a pain when I moved out my parents house so I want to make it as easy as possible when I eventually move again.

I don't agree all the time with you but THANKS for being the only one so far getting this straight! Salute. Everybody saying otherwise is dumb as faak, sorry. People are so annoying with all this fear mongering. And if you think about it a little further, what poeple don't understand is this: as a business model streaming sucks! Just look at all the streaming platforms and how they struggle to maintain their business. Even crApple gave away 5 months of free membership for Playstation players. And believe me, crApple doesn't do that because they are so nice. crApple has estimated (third party guess work here) 25 Million subs cashing in 250 Million a month. Actually noone knows how many subs they have as crApple doesn't reveal numbers. The crApple show "Foundation" Season 1+2 production costs is about 90 Million + adds. Additionally they have to pay their staff and maintain infrastructure every month. With 25 million subs they might do good enough to maintain this product but they'll never know how many subs they have next month. And considering how many streaming platforms we already have subscribers are running thin, that's why various platforms offer their product in bundles. Movies on discs will be there forever, period.

I just heard that Sony will just discontinued making g bluray. Is it true? Are they pulling off from movies too?

i've only had disk rot happen on some CDs but that's because i stored them in a very humid room and did NOT use them for so long.

The Top 10 Best Selling DVDS Of All Time (With DVD Menus!)

I got a few 4k discs for the first time so I'm looking into a 4k player. But I also have some region b Blu-rays. Is there 4k player that is also region free? Or do I need to convince my wife that yes, I do actually need two disc players? 😂 The only info I keep seeing is that 4k discs are region free, but nothing explicitly about the players. Thanks.
