Im trying to assist my uncle and currently his car is not starting at all. hes not only adjusted the mixture screw but the 4 individual screws on each injector. is there a standard setting for these as well? His is K jetronic

@@sebastianryan8429 No, just tighten them but let it not be overtight. Replace the injectors, if that doesn't help then check the warm up regulator.

Има разлике - један иде на компјутер, а други на комутатор ако причамо о сензору са 2 пина. Минус је било који део на шасији или најбоље на средини где је изведена браон жица. Што се тиче сензора са 4 пина може било који само да буде у "Х", тј. у крст.

Hi. I have a w124 200e m102 with the 3 pin ICV. Cold starts are below 1000rpm with no issue but lately i have high idle about 1200rpm on a hot engine. Also, the electromagnetic fan engages all the time even on a cold engine. I cant seem to locate any leaking air hoses. What else should i check

Hello! Another fantastic video, I have a question, on my w126 the kilometer counter and the radio have stopped working at the same time, I have checked the fuses and they seem to be ok. Any suggestions? The mechanic examined it and the gears are OK. thank you so much! It's 560 SE 1990

Thanks a lot. As for these things, I can't say really. I don't see what a radio and the km counter have in common! Maybe the gears fell out and they don't touch each other but don't get this for 100%!

Well, that's a thing for a gas analyzer but if you have pin3 then you can set the duty cycle according to the % or voltage!

@mercedeske so basically by doing it by the plate you are getting the maximum vacuum out of it instead of duty cycle percentage.

As I lift up the plate I force the central piston in the fuel distributor(the plunger) to drop to its zero position and therefore I close the fuel passage and at the same time I reduce air, so - NO AIR NO FUEL. When I deflect the plate I add fuel more than required for idle and the engine starts dying. Concerning the duty cycle - that's just voltage in time measured in milliseconds. As I called it "Non existence in percentage". That's just a Mercedes formula which says:"Divide maximum voltage on pin3 to the battery voltage. What you get you subtract from 1 and multiply by 100" Example - the maximum voltage on pin3 is 7.33V and your battery voltage is 13.8V(7.33/13.8=0.53; 1-0.53=0.47x100 makes 47%). Duty cycle is simply 30%(on time) from an entirety(100%) the rest 70% is called off time. I made it a bit longer but I think you get the point!😉

@@mercedeske by doing it this way , my engine hg vacuum increased from 16hg to 19hg which means the engine is getting the most power at max vacuum. The duty cycle though is off the scale now to the point where it's not fluctuating. Rpm in park increased from 750 to about 850 by adjusting by the plate. Rpm in drive pretty much stayed the same at 650. Idle in park is silky buttery smooth.

Thanks a lot for this video! Gonna try the trick on my m102e23. I've seen changes as I've gently touched the plate. Also those that will adjust the plate (by CO screw), any adjustment brings with it the need to recalibrate the potentiometer! I've also heared someone that Bosch said in some manual to make the fuel pump running (with a wire instead of relay) and injectors lines removed and with the screw almost maxim tighted down and unscrew it bit by bit. Once fuel slightly comes from the fuel distributor ports for injectors, then turn CCW half a turn and that's how you find the right CO. Would this be true?

Yes, that's the initial mixture adjustment I have been speaking about. That is being performed for the car to start, under those conditions each car should start. Then you can fine tune CCW until the car starts shaking(remember how much you turned CCW) and then find the average value where the car neither shakes on idle nor it will "flood" the cylinders(too rich).

Mine is a bit confusing, as when I replaced the fuel filter, it started stalling more and stalls in particular making a right turn. Replaced it with the old filter and stayed bad. So now after a minute or so it stalls. Going to attempt to adjust the eha. Becuase now it also stalls when pressing the gas. Weird how it go worse when i replaced the gas filter

Hi. Some things start happening suddenly, I believe it has nothing to do with the fuel filter. Check the EHA, clean the idle control valve. Check the pressures to see what happens.

question, m119 engine if i unplug the air filters and the hose behind it, the car should start anyway or not, cuz i dont know if i messed up the mixture or just plug back the hose

Always remember how many turns you made when readjusting something or for how much so that you can always get everything back at the position 0. The car should start, it won't just if you removed the rubber hose leading from the idle control valve to the airflow meter.

On the EHA miliamps are being measured. In global between -3, 0 up to +3 when the car is warm.

my friend purchased a W124 Coupe with a leaking EHA valve, He purchased a 2nd hand EHA valve - we replaced it and it now doesn't leak but the car runs like a dog (almost sounded like a misfire) it was very smokey and rich so we turned the adjustment screw 1/4 turns anti clockwise and it got better so we did another 1/4 turn and now little to no improvement. we put the leaking EHA valve on and it ran perfeclty (but still leaks unfortunately) have we purchased a broken EHA do you think? thanks great video!!!

I can't tell. The broken EHA is when you get extremely lean mixture and you can't increase the differential pressure. That's what you must see on the pressure gauge. Try to remove the adjustment screw completely and to replace the little O-ring. At first screw the adjustment screw to the max and count the turns so when you get to the end you know how many turns you have to get counterclockwise afterwards in order to be on the mark 0. Remove the screw and replace the o-ring. If that helps then it's okay, if it doesn't then the EHA has to be replaced. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2Sblq2AZ8utepY

Nice video! I have a question regarding the CO screw, as this one was a new AFM unit. How to set it correctly on a car that we don't know how messed up it is? What is the right procedure to find the right tune. Especially on a nonKAT with no #3 pin on x11 and TSZ firing. Many thanks!

Once you connect a tool, you could in a glimpse just show on video: This comes here, and this one here. On multimeter check and pressure gauge I mean. I know we both know, but new followers could find it useful.

Great video Ivica, few understand CIS these days and it's important as this information is made public so these cars can be properly cared for. I've been working on CIS equipped cars for about a decade now and while they are tricky to wrap your head around at first, when an 80's/90's Mercedes is running properly, they are some of the most enjoyable classic cars to drive out there. Hello I noticed the cars idle was at 1,000 I have also noticed to have plugged the vacuum line that would go to the auto transmission. I have recently swapped my auto m102 190e with the 5speed 411 and my idle has now increased to 1,000 is this normal? I did plug the same line with a cap

Hello. Dial 20V, if you have the option for 2V on the multimeter even better(more acurate). It should fluctuate between 0.2 and 0.8V twice per second. If you can't achieve that replace the lambda because it can't be readjusted.

Hello - check the OVP and the fuel pressure regulator. Mount the pressure gauge and monitor the pressures - you have to get the nominal value for the system pressure, it must not be over 5.7 bar or below 5.5bar. Then check the control pressure and see the differential pressure.

The point of this video is to show that it's very important not to get a negative sign on the multimeter when you measure current on the EHA(electro-hydraulic actuator). When you measure voltage on the car on any component it's not a big deal if you reverse the polarity but when you measure the current in mA on the EHA you must make sure that you obtain the value with the positive reading otherwise the ECU(the computer) is going to understand it wrong and it will show LEAN instead of a RICH mixture or vice versa. The point of this video is to show you how to do the measurements on the EHA the proper way! Happy Mercedesing!

Hello. In essence there are no differences between the EHAs because their working principle is the same, their components inside are the same, just a bit different setting for a specific model which varies from universal EHA adjustment. People should buy a brand new EHA only if the old one is toasted. That's where dealerships take advantage of people and sell them this part for up to 1000$ US depending of the car they drive!

Нађи одговарајући шрафцигер, ударни одвирач или одвијач што може да се монтира на њега рачна, узми бит 6 или 7, он ти је ширина за тај шраф. Имам видео кад сам показивао такав шрафцигер. I'm only getting 2.9 volts at idle when engine fully warmed. The clicking sound happens on mine at about 5 seconds after ignition is turned on.

Well, you will have to get at least 4V, in the range 4-6.5V, that's how it is in the specs. Try with another ICV, if same thing happens, then check either the OVP or the ECU as well as the wires towards them.

Hola tengo un problema con un 190. Cuando esta el coche caliente empieza a ir mal y se para. Cuando esta frio el coche va perfecto. Y un taller mecanico me ha dico que puede ser la inyeccion pero el coche solo va mal cuando esta caliente. Gracias

¡Revise el acumulador de combustible cuando el coche está caliente! Debe mantener la presión al menos durante 30 minutos cuando el auto se detiene. Este de aquí es mal. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXOTlaWJqs-HhNk

I followed your advice, i got a new EHA, tuned it correctly got the 0.4 bar. Then i rebuilt fuel distrubutor and tuned it with you guides and the was running very good. Then while reinstalling the fuel distrubutor to check something, the wrench slipped! I cracked the mixture screw tower (CO screw tower). This is giving me a massive airleak, the smoke tester confirmed it - and i don't know how to fix it. Car wont idle or anything but is super happy when it's running. What do you think? I have an m102 Australia 180e

The hoses differ on the pre-facelift models, it's got a different connection to the airfilter, a metal part to the intake manifold and a differnt part to the idle control valve, the icv also being different and adjustable. I am currently learning about the KE on my car and while you provide videos no one else does, I do think that you could explain a little more. Like the way the air travels through the piping here, where it comes from and how the oil from the engine ends up in most air filters etc. I think you have great knowledge about these systems, so maybe you could elaborate on various methods to improve the engineering and improve these common failure points of the KE with mods (makeshift mods even). Thanks for the video.

@@mercedeske I fixed my car, it was the idle rpm screw, someone had tried to ''fix'' it before me thinking its just another carb screw. Car runs perfect besides a small tick. thanks a ton, your videos helped me so much
