I had a banks twin ram , when I had four inch exhaust my transmission wouldn’t shift, but when I went back to the 3 inch I had power and the transmission shifted normal .

Also i see a problem with all that oil cooling fins ( fine in summer ) but what happens in winter really cold weather when the oil cannot get at the optimal temperature and i have been driving class 7 trucks since 06 also had a ram 1500 eco diesel 3rd generation had hard time staying warm in very cold winter with grill closed now ad the oil cooling that you designed that could cause the engine never getting optimal temperature and faster engine wear This is over engineering On the flip side the oil pan not that expensive if you live in hot area like florida arizona texas or middle east africa

Their "certification " is actually a certificate for 83 shares of Amsoil made out from and to this mythical inventor of ScAmsoil. Never trust a peddler with the stones to sell oil at thirty bucks a quart
@doncarlson839112 сағат бұрын
I hate to point this out but by letting the pan and the pick-up tube drain, when the engine is started after the oil change, the oil pump pushes a "bubble" of air through the oil passages while the pickup tube fills and the pump reprimes itself. Lake Speed's "Ask the Oil Geek" channel demonstrated this by instrumenting the oil system and showing what happens when you don't prefill the filter. Pushing air through oil galleries on a running engine is never good. Maybe GM chose the lesser of two evils?

I don't have a race car, but I do have a Jeep with a 5.7 hemmy, and I often do accelerate hard off the line and hit higer RPMs than the average driver. Would this be suggested for my use situation? And I will be eventually towing a camper trailer that's pretty close to the seventy two hundred pound towing capacity with materials added to dry weight.

My 98 12v has yall entire air intake kit some diff parts a bult stage 3 trans and yalls exhaust i just got my turbos refreshed. And hoping to oneday get a newer slightly bigger turbos and the p pump is from fass along with the injectors and fuel system but from watching yall ive learned so much and my truck that i can pull cattle trailers and tractors everyday and use it as a toy hauler without any concerns of failure or not having enough power and maybe oneday i can just completely have all your products and pass this truck down to my son

This isn't anything new!!! I'm still running a 6.0 when I bought it and did the bulletproof it took 18 quarts to fill from empty! A normal oil change is 15.5 there is always some oil left over! Same with the trans. You cannot remove all the fluid from the torque converter. If I buy a used truck I have it flushed and then drop the pan and replace the filter(s) (Provided the manufacturer does not have a tsb stating otherwise)

He just showed the ideal gas law. Whats that got to do with power of an engine?Your turbo doesnt create boost buy heating the air like the experiment, it compresses the air and in tern gets hotter. Different phenomenon.
@davidleonard836919 сағат бұрын
You don’t actually believe that nonsense Gail . Honestly, the turbo when one cylinder is on its exhaust stroke and the back pressure from the turbo is pushing against that particular piston there are more piston’s connected by the crankshaft so all cylinders are affected by the back pressure of the turbo.

This all comes down to air velocity at both intake and exhaust valves for a given engine. The intake system before the intake valve and the exhaust system after the exhaust valve have an effect on each other. I am an engineer and I have done CFD simulation on intake systems. To be honest it takes a CFD (computational fluid dynamics) analysis tool to predict those delta P's. Everything else is just guessing and trial and error. Banks is doing CFD and validating their presumptions. I do that very thing for a living and it's time consuming and tedious work.

I see this with all vehicles the pick up tube is always slightly submerged to stop the oil from draining out of the pick up tube and ultimately the oil pump. This is likely to wear the oil pump and the engine upon every start up. The oil filter is perfectly capable of cleaning the oil left is unlikely to effect the engine life

Every oil change in every single car results in residual oil left in the engine… I think what’s more important than these gimmicks like lower nuts or fancy oils is changing the oil frequently and using the OEM filter.

Question: why does the injected fuel burn up the piston and or cylinder wall? I have never understood why it does that bc in my mind it would do the opposite as its a cool liquid. The only thing that would make sense to me is if the diesel fuel is turned into what i would consider a flame thrower in essence and is concentrated in a direct line to the piston and or cylinder wall, but that would mean the fuel is instantaneously ignited which i didnt think happened. Basically, is whats causing the piston top and or cylinder wall to burn caused by this "flame thrower" i described? If not can someone explain please?

I drove a ford excursion with a 6.0 for 325000 miles. Changed the oil every 5000. The engine held at least 3 quarts that would not come out with oil changes. Not a problem with regular oil changes.

Just say the pan looks cooler and and has passive cooling .. This test is a waste of everyone's time. You didn't pull the oil filter which would have allowed the oil to drain back into the pan from the pickup tube in the clear pan test... every time you do an oil change you should replace the filter so that's a non issue. so after that the amount of oil left in the pan is going to be a non issue... dirty oil... gets filtered immediately and as you saw in the video the clean oil was dirty the moment the engine started. The oil is "clean" for a split second. Also if you let the engine drain overnight you would have less "dirty oil"

What does it matter? The old oil mixes with the new oil every time you get an oil change, so it's very diluted.
