Too gimmicky. Would rather have a Federal roof mounted sealed beam beacon with a 80fpm gash rate and a Federal dual tone mechanical siren. That combo is proven to clear traffic quite well.

You don’t want your siren mounted on your roof we tried that and it was so loud in the car your ears a sulky Rand and you couldn’t hear anything else but that

Das ist die CORE Sirene von Whelen. 2x 100W Lautsprecher + Howler wurden hier vebaut.

A friend of mine who is a Volunteer Firefighter here in New Hampshire (USA) has that exact same type of GMC Sierra 1500 Truck for his Fire POV, except his is painted Red & black with Red/White Lights in the front & Red/White/2 Amber Lights in the back.

The howler and rumbler are just horrible and ridiculous. Cant see what purpose they serve, and just distorte every other tone. The best bar far is the Martinhorn or high-low sirens as in European countries.. Much easier to locate when driving and much more of a 'get out of the way' sound for drivers. The wail and yelp variants as on US vehicles sound like theyre playing an ice cream van tune.

The Howler/ Rumbler has 3 advantages. You can feel it up to approximately 70m/ 210ft around the vehicle. Apart from that the deep sound is very distinctive and some drivers (especially old people) may hear it before they recognize regular higher pitched sirens. Plus the Howler speaker is facing the ground so the siren tone travels into all directions (not just straight forward as normal sirens do) which is great for intersections. Most European countries use wail/ yelp sirens which are better than 2-tones/ martin horns and offer more options. If 2-tone sirens would be better, why is everyone using wail/ yelp/ piercer instead of 2-tones? Why have fire departments in countries like the Czech Republic moved away from Martin horns to wail/ yelp sirens? There are just 6 countries where 2-tone sirens are mandatory. If those wouldn't be mandatory, a lot of agencies would also use wail/ yelp there and some already do although it's illegal.

Gibt es das Fahrzeug in Bardowick mit diesem programmierten Blaulicht-Pattern/Muster schon? Mit Wail wäre halt echt alles nicer. Gute Arbeit.

Das Fahrzeug ist ganz normal als KdoW in Bardowick unterwegs. Die gezeigte Programmierung war allerdings lediglich zur Vorführung verschiedener Funktionen während der Florian. Danach wurde wieder die reguläre Programmierung eingestellt.

Would be cool to see some Swedish and Finnish tones added. Though I don't think it's legislation, just the manufacturer Sarco I believe it's called is the sole supplier there. Although I remember an ambulance in Northern Finland having a Whelen with a Swedish hi-lo similar to the Martin tone, around 2006. One of the Kemijarvi paramedics had a KZbin and posted some videos of it.

Ist natürlich ein wenig übertrieben, soll ja auch so als Demo-Fahrzeug, aber viele Rettungsfahrzeuge, egal ob Feuer, Politzei oder Rettung, könnten langsam mal modernere Lichttechnik gebrauchen. Mit immer besser isolierten Autos und schlechter werdender Übersicht in den Fahrzeugen, können Rettungsfahrzeuge gar nicht genug auffallen. Je mehr Licht, desto besser Und verdammt cool aussehen tut das ganze dazu :)
