I'd want more period appropriate wheels, though I've no idea what those would be, and could fit those tires. One of the many cool things about computers and CAD is that you can try out different looks in wheels. I dunno Would wire wheels work. And what wheels did the Bugeye sport? GREAT, great job. Kudos.

My Dad put a 911 (air cooled) Porsche engine in a 72 Kombi, (Exact same wheel base as a Beetle, just a different body) with a dual plate clutch and a straight tooth transmission. It was amazing. He could do wheel stands on camping trips! :D

Because of the low visibility, I would have put a camera on the front bumper feeding into a screen somewhere in the dash just to be a bit safer. So like an always on feed of what in front of you so you don't run anything over by accident.. Then maybe make it nightvision so you can run at night like some kind of mad max rat rodded batman..

There are no brakes in the world that would stop the car better than the stock brakes.

Staying with the L-series is the best part of the car. Everybody puts KA24 and SR20 engines in 510s and its not like you can't get plenty of power from an L-series. You technically can put a KA head on an L block so theres interchangeability between the L, Z, and even KA motors. The L being a wedge reverse flow, the Z being a cross-flow semi-hemi, and the KA being a pent-roof 4 valve. Its pretty Interesting.
