i'm thinking that even though John is playing the riff, McCartney initially came up with it, you see in the Get Back movie John and Paul merged their song snippets. And you see Paul aggravating George telling him how to play the big guitar string descending bend. Plus this is a huge staple in McCartney concerts which reinforces his big contribution to this song which btw I love and is underappreciated

I've heard about Lennon playing the solo on this, it's great to see how it's done.

Always thought it was John who play the solo since it was his song.

Way late - great chaos... and wouldn't the planet be a poorer place without what those 4 Liverpool guys cooked up ?

The lyrics make me miss my late girlfriend being gone 38 years. 😢 I had dreams to do things with her. Bittersweet song in it's entirety. Those 4 from Liverpool really put together music we can all relate to.....most of it centered around LOVE.

My uncle was a bassist and me a guitarist. He used to have a yearly bash where his old band would reunite and play. He would have me join them onstage for a handful of songs. One year we had planned on this tune but unfortunately he was diagnosed with cancer and passed only a few short weeks later. I never got to play this song with him. So now my band plays this song in his honor.

I have a Gretsch Guitar and I tried many things to come as close as possible to the beatles songs. And one of them ís ''Tell Me Why''. It sounded like the original. I would say John played his Rick and George played his Gretsch.

Unfortunately the guitar is really buried in the mix and I wasn't even sure there was guitar on it until Anthology 2 came out and it had a take where you could actually hear it.

The best thing about this last ever Beatles song is that it closes with all four's playing being audible. You can clearly here Paul's bass, George's lead guitar, Lennon's rhythm guitar and Ringo's drums to the very end of the song. Oh yeah, and the 3 part harmony. I don't care how many "last ever Beatle songs" they release, this for me is their perfect final hurrah.
