Happy new year! This one is really good. I have had a look at the e46 units. Make sure you read all the spec. The 8 inch screen i think is the one with the best processor and resolution. Which should make it much nicer to use even tho its a similar price to the other models.

Here's a quick tip about your old system. If someone else is having the same problem with Android it's very fast to correct it. I will say you will have to do this every time but when you do it once or twice it comes so fast to you that you already have it pulled up and connected. Click on settings scroll down to connect written in smaller letters it will say Bluetooth under the connect button. Once you do that you hit the one for the car and in less than 5 seconds it's hooked up. I had the same problem and I bought some Bluetooth headphones that I wear at night to sleep and they do the exact same thing. I do it so quickly I had to leave the video to remember exactly what buttons I was hitting. I think I'm just going to do what you have done for a few different reasons almost exactly all of yours. Man i love this thing. Laura got it December 2022, but it will be my daily once i get my licence back. Another dude that works at 8speed has one and with a tune it freaking hauls. Can't wait to wind this one up. Oh and the fuel economy is crazy. Used about half the fuel the old e53 v8 petrol used.

I have an F25 X3 with N57 and 8HP as a daily too - same size as the E70 X5 too. It’s doing 4.7s 0-100 with 850km/tank with just a flash tune. Awesome daily 👍🏽

Hi there, Thank you very much for this video! 👍 I really appreciate it simply because I‘m looking for a headunit now for almost two months now. I thought I‘d buy a headunit from XTRONS, but something kept me off buying it. Now I‘ve watched this video and I‘m pretty sure that THIS is the solution for my „problem“, because: I do want to use Apple CarPlay in my 2010 E70 X5M. Simple as that. I don’t want necessarily an Android headunit cause I‘ll never use it (like you). I ONLY want Apple CarPlay in combination with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I had a 2017 F31 330dA xDrive LCI before the E70 (I didn’t need a Diesel anymore) and of course I always and only used CarPlay in the F31. Since I own the E70 I‘m so sad cause I can’t use CarPlay anymore. So now I‘ll click the link in your description and will buy this headunit and hopefully I‘ll be as happy as you are. Looks way better than those Xtrons units that don't come with shit for instructions and they expect you to figure out the installs by yourself because they admit they don't install these in cars before selling them. None of the literature, customer support, or quality matches anything made in the West or by other reputable countries like Japan S Korea Germany US Canada and so forth. Told them about all the extra work I had to do and they had the nerve to ask me to document it for them. I bought the product from you not the other way around!

you can purchase a Matte screen protector, that will solve the glare issue.

The glare is no issue for normal use, mainly filming its a killer. However i do like the gloss screen look. Its looks more like an iphone, than the factory g series screen.

Well thanks for following along for so long. A lot of the zeroto60 cars have been sold to pay my legal fees over the last 18 months. Nearly everything is gone unforuntately. However we have a lot of parts which will be going to some fresh builds this year. The OG 17T turbos from the eBay build have been fitted to a new car, so we will see how they last soon.

Lovely Update, I have an E71 and I am intending to do an update, the question I have is, Like the stock system, does it have an audio delay? I’ve noticed that even the newer versions have an audio delay on stock units.

So, when you pause spotify for example it takes about 1 second for the audio to stop. I think a bit of that is the wireless carplay.

So it basically adapts the stock systems audio delay feature. You see it very obvious when playing a video through Bluetooth.. you’ll see the lips move before the audio. Even so, I’ve ordered a unit for my 2012 E71 X6 35i, I’ll watch your older installation videos to see how to install. Thank you for the review and the discount code.

So I purchased and installed but there’s one thing bugging me, the wires on the aftermarket harness, ie power cord, has 3 loose wires labeled (back, 360 DET and acc) DO these wires need to be spliced onto the factory harness? I have a 2012 X6 that has cameras under the left and right side mirrors. I tested the camera and it’s just a gray area where those cameras are, in other words, no 360, just rear camera. If they need to be spliced, which wire do I splice the 360 DET onto?

I didnt need to splice anything. You will need to set the unit to switch to the original factory camera. So basically this android screen is hidden when the factory camera is actuvated. you just see the original display. That is how i set this one up.@@Mr77Trojan

I installed mine yesterday and love it, All tho my version seems a bit different than yours, I don’t have the top scroll down menu and a bit different software. I got the seicane 12” screen on my e70 but I didn’t order the top model from them. Do you think that could be the issue on why it’s not the same options? I have this screen setup using RealDash and OBD2 and it’s just so laggy, there are so many nice skins to be used but useless as it’s so damn laggy..on your previous video you have used a dongle to connect the canbus to your laptop ..would be nice if you can connect it to your android screen ?

great video fella, you nailed all the points i was interested in and will be grabbing one of these 12" bad boys next week...i have a 2009 x5 35d with what i believe to be a CCC stereo unit, can you tell me or share any advice on maybe upgrade's for that unit and should i need to any advice on the need to program that upgrade, i have a otofix pro which i am hoping will cope with the reprograming, or even bimmer code...many thanks once again, in your hands ian..P.S just to clarify, i meant stock stereo upgrade then do the 12" display screen upgrade..

There not much benifit to updating the software on the CCC. As long as it has aux input, thats all you need.

It's good. I have had to restart the unit a couple of times. It just wouldnt connect to carplay. However the reset takes a few seconds and it connects straight away.

Some cars will require the aux connection, some do not. Depends on the factory stereo config.

New to your channel, thanks for sharing the Seicane E70 video. Few questions please, 1. If using CarPlay can I have the OEM DAB radio playing, will navigation audio mute OEM radio? 2. If in CarPlay and I select reverse, does the OEM camera automatically select, or does it require manual selection? My E70 is CIC with all cameras and rear entertainment (not used really) and AUX port RHD UK car.

Hey mate, I have a x5 e70 3.0sd, 2008, ccc, I have Bluetooth for phone calls but not for music. I use my aux cord for that, you said yours has Bluetooth from the factory so would my install be a little different ? And once installed can I use my aux or will it only be Bluetooth? Really keen to get one. Especially with the 70% off sale they have going on right now. Also on the link it says for 2011 2012 bmw x5 but when I scroll down it then says compatible with 2008 e70. So this connects to aux. However the e70s have multiple different aux inputs. So it can be complicated. However if you don’t have mulf or combox it will just connect in the supplied harness. Once this is sorted you then only connect the phone to unit via Bluetooth. Regarding the dates. The only different is ccc vs cic factory units. You need to make sure you get the one to suit your car. Let me know what you think of it once you get it.

easiest way is probabaly physically check for the modules. Being CCC it will likely be mulf, so google e70 mulf and see where it is normally in the car.@@Kenny-vr1dx
