@SlipFitGarageКүн бұрын
That information is already published on the Maxpeedingrods website. I am sorry my video did not meet your expectations. I'm sure there is a video somewhere that contains the information you're looking for. Or, you could just go by what the manufacturer claims on their spec sheet for this model.... "Use Eco mode to extend your run time up to 8.3 hours @25% load (750w load) or 4.5 hours at 50% load (1500w load)"...... Sure, every situation is different and these numbers may not be exact.... And even my test numbers (if I did a fuel consumption test) would probably be different from YOUR actual experience. These number from Maxpeedingrods will get you close enough.

I got one because of a few things. A good warranty At least 3000 running watts. Good customer reviews. It has weather protection (Real big bonus in my opinion. Not required but happy to have) It uses a 30 amp plug, not the twist plug. My complaints are few. The spark plug is a PITA to work with (I am planning on replacing the spark plug with an iridium spark plug. Absolutely overkill but I like Iridium spark plugs). The improved models fixed this problem but it remains a problem on this model. The conversions are weird.

the problem here is when you do the cutoff you lose all your radio setup, seat memories, ..., can you try an other setup ?
@SlipFitGarage13 күн бұрын
Well, those are not problems for me.... but I can see where those might be problems for others. You can always try using a battery maintainer. They work, but they're not perfect either. They can eventually kill a battery, too. Not to mention, maintainers are plugged into a constant 120 volt A/C outlet and run on constant power for months/years at a time. (potentially) I do not like the idea of having cheap consumer grade electronics plugged into a wall outlet and leaving them unattended for extended periods of time..... yes, battery maintainers HAVE been known to cause garage fires. I don't need that problem. A battery disconnect works FOR ME. You could also try a solar charger that gets it's power from the sun (instead of a wall outlet) or you could try a smaller battery/solar charger in conjunction with a battery disconnect..... this way you can still shut off the main battery, but maintain radio and seat presets via a cord that back feeds 12 volts to the vehicle's computer through the cigarette lighter. There are options..... I personally like the battery disconnect. Thanks for the question.

Will it work for 2017 charger pursuit and 2011
@SlipFitGarage15 күн бұрын
They are designed to work on all "OBDII" vehicles.... Which is ANY vehicle manufactured to be sold new in the USA from 1996, until today. ALL functionality is 100% dependent upon the specific year/make/model that you're currently plugged into. Not all vehicles have the same functionality even if you're using the same scan tool.

@SlipFitGarage some people say security system changed for 2018 and above
@SlipFitGarage14 күн бұрын
Yes, that is true. But you asked about 2017, and 2011 vehicles... All 2018 and up Chrysler vehicles have a secure gateway module. These scanners WILL still work but you will need an additional "12+8 cable" to access the vehicle's computer AFTER the gateway module. Or, another OBD2 scan tool with an AutoAuth account, a current subscription, and an internet cloud connection..... So, in basic terms, you need either an Autoauth account OR a 12+8 cable to access 2018 and newer Chrysler (FCA) vehicles. (plus the scan tool itself) The 12+8 cable plugs in directly after the module. These connection ports ARE NOT the same as the typical OBDII connector under the dash of every vehicle, known as the DLC. (Diagnostic link connector) The ports for the 12+8 cable are located usually in the center console, or behind the dash somewhere, like behind the radio. They are NOT easy to access but if you want full control with your scan tool, the 12+8 cable OR a scan tool with a paid AutoAuth account is the only way to do it. Otherwise, with none of the above, you'll only be able to check trouble codes.... no bidirectional control.

@SlipFitGarage17 күн бұрын
Have you tried the scan tool on more than one vehicle? A lot of those issues CAN be dependent upon the vehicle itself. For example..... The scan tool does not determine if a vehicle is misfiring, it simply displays the data that is provided by the computer in the vehicle. If the computer in the vehicles is having problems, it will certainly LOOK like the scan tool is having problems, when it really isn't. I'm not saying this is 100% happening in your case, but it is a possibility. Remember, the computer in the vehicle determines pretty much everything you see on the screen of a scan tool. What was the original complaint with the vehicle? Thanks for the comment.

Yeah a benefit of using a relay for high amp accessories is to take the load off the switch...its also nice so that you don't have to run heavy gauge power wire inside your vehicle you can locate the relay closer to the accessory that its controlling.. saves money on heavy gauge wire too 😂 because you're not doing a long run inside the vehicle
@SlipFitGarage23 күн бұрын
You are correct. There are many reasons to use a relay. Your example is just one of them, and probably the most common reason. This video was about a using a relay for a different reason. Thanks for your comment.
@MarcusSandoval-kx2th23 күн бұрын
Very good job explaining how relays work in an automotive application. I have shaved door handles in my old Vette and I was wondering if my expensive door popper control module craps out could I replace it with a cheap eBay keyless entry kit ...I suppose the "lock" feature would be a positive trigger and the "unlock" a negative (I did install such a kit in my ex girlfriend's car but long ago)...the door popper solenoids are both positive trigger because theyre grounded thru the mounting bracket so I wanted to make sure I could use a relay wired to be negative triggered 😊👍 and energize the passenger solenoid ...so, driver's door will be popped by hitting the "lock" button on the remote and smashing the "unlock " button would pop the passenger side door ?

Ok so if theer is air in the system how did the auto bleeder getting it out without opening the bleed screw? Or is it not necessary.
@SlipFitGarageАй бұрын
No, you still need to manually bleed the brakes the traditional way. This isn't magic. This process simply moves the stuck air bubbles out of the ABS module and into the brake lines where the bubbles can then be easily bled from from the system through the bleed screws. I'm pretty sure I cover this in the video. (it's been years since I watched my own video) Plus I have answered this question probably 300 times in this comment section. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. I purchased the Foxwell BT705PLUS partially on your recommendation. I have 7 automotive type batteries and including all the neighbors I thought it would be a good addition to my tool arsenal. Everything was going good until I had to add a little water to one of the batteries. My 3 ball hygrometer that I used to add water showed one of the cells completely dead. I charge it at 15 amps over night, dead. I charged it with a 800ma charger for a week, checking it every day, dead. What did the FOXWELL say? It not only said 100% SOH,SOC, but it said that the MCA was higher than new. You can't contact them by phone. Email takes days. It's been near 2 week. They are giving me the runaround. In the first email I gave them all the info I thought they needed. I wrote down everything on the battery and everything on the Foxwell display. The next email they ask for PICTURES of everything I previously told them. I also gave them a picture of my charger and a picture of the Hygrometer and all the reading of every cell. There 3rd email they ask, in broken English, what tool I used to determine that the cell was bad. (in the last email I took a picture of the tool and all of the readings.) THAT'S ALL SENT IT BACK! Advise anything you buy must have real person customer support.

So the 30amp on the generator is 120v not 250v? Why not two 15 amp receptacles there are very fee 20 amp 120v items?
@SlipFitGarageАй бұрын
Well, it would never be 250 volts because in the USA our nominal voltage is 120/240. And yes, the 30amp receptacle is only 120 volts because this generator is only setup to produce 120 volts. As are almost all generators in this size range that are sold in the USA. We typically do not see 240 volts offered on a generator until right around the 5000 watt range, or larger. As for breaker/receptacle configuration, you'd have to ask the manufacturer why they decided to produce this generator with that setup. Personally, I prefer 20 amp breakers. Just because you have 20 amps available at the receptacle, that doesn't mean you have to use a device that requires all 20 amps. You can plug in any 120 volt device, regardless of amp draw, as long as it's under 20 amps. But on the other hand, if you plug in a coffee maker, or a slow cooker, or a pizza oven, or a toaster oven, or construction site power tools, etc... those higher wattage appliances can easily trip weak 15 amp breakers.... With 20 amp breakers you don't have to worry about running those higher draw 120 volt appliances.
