He was my 1st Indian captain when I as a kid first started understanding cricket in the mid to late 90's. What a sight it was seeing him do his magic. Unfortunate end to his illustrious career !

I imitated his bowling action as a kid, and got a lot of compliments from coaches through my schooling career. It was his intensity that set him apart, even when off form, you still felt like something could happen with every delivery

Sunhil wasn't the most attacking stroke maker but he faced down the most hostile bowlers wearing a floppy hat, was hard to get out, and was hard to stop the runs flowing.
