@@warai9039 it's kind of hard to explain everything I've coded but I can give you a very surface level explanation: - Inventory that has all the ingredients you want - Drag/drop from inventory to an area (the pot), the way I do this is I have a sprite that is constantly set to the position of my mouse, and i just toggle its visibility on and off on drag/drop - Once dropped, add this ingredient to an array - Once cook button pressed, activate mini game(or whatever you want) Hope that helps :) (This is all based on my most recent vid btw)

@@DaShizi I use canva to make all my thumbnails and it has a built int outline thingie but I'm sure most photo/art softwares come with something similar :)

This is my first devlog of yours I've seen, so I don't much about the goal of the game but I thought it would be cool if after a 100 (or whatever is a large amount of recipes completed for the game) you could make the perfect or good bar bigger to show how the player is getting better at cooking.

I also agree, but my original vision with the game was to have it be a worthy successor to neko atsume, and implementing a moving character would basically require me to rebuild the game from the ground up, but maybe in a future game I make >:)

I have a question... What if you can go onto adventures? Y'know like other mysterious islands unusual ethnicities, new food, and new ingredients? There'll also be enemies fighting you as well and some major inconveniences causing you to have to stay on an island whilst building a boat. The longer you sail into the seas the more food you need to store, but this might seem way too far off from the cozy frog game we all like and love...

I remember when you're just 2 months development in the game wayback on 2023. That time, I was only dreaming of making my own Stardew Valley chef rpg game. Your devlog coped me that I can do it so I immediately make my own on Scratch, the basic child development software But it's too laggy.... Too sad my progress for 1 year is ditched. But this month I remade it on Godot! An actual game engine and so far it looks and perform even better and I will credit you as one of my biggest inspiration!!!!!!

Hey hey! Did you remember me? I commented here back on 2023! I remade my conjurer isle project from scratch to Godot! And soon maybe next month I'll make my own devlog! Thank you for one of the KZbinr who believed that I can do it! Remaking the entire project from scratch is hard.... But I managed! Btw, I learned so much on your cooking mechanics released wayback on 2023 and I made it a central focus for my potion Crafting feature in the game. So, Can I use your game as example for my devlog? I can't wait to do it now.... So I would like your own opinion!

I love all the new changes! This devlog really highlights all your progress as a game developer :P If am allowed to nitpick on something, I believe the clouds around the map being a frame of the camera spoil the intended effect. The clouds should be a frame for the map, not the camera frame, so you know those areas are "unknown", they might even hint new islands in future updates if you wanted to do so. Really nice work!

Great video! But drag and drop is SUPER unfriendly for players with repetitive stress injuries. Makes my arm hurt just to watch the gameplay. Constantly needing to reopen the inventory menu (with a click?) would be uncomfy, too. What about bulk gathering ingredients and then depositing them all at once?

Thanks! Players can bulk/auto cook a dish once they master it, and since many others also mentioned how tedious the extra click might be I'll definitely update it so the inventory will just stay on screen instead of popping down :) I'll see what I can do about the drag and drop, I do still think its a nice diagetic touch, but maybe I could add an option for tapping to add in settings :0

The only thing that doesn’t really look right to me is the way you access the quests, like isn’t that a gear? The gear usually resembles the settings? That’s really the only thing I would change. Also, that new cooking sistem looks amazing, just like the map! Awesome work, as always

The rehaul looks wonderful! I'm so glad you kept the engravings on the pot, they were so charming. The floating ingredients you use now is a welcome overhaul I didn't know was needed until I saw it! I still hope you add a reduced difficulty option for the cooking mini game, as that purple "perfect" bar is very small, to encourage players with disabilities or poor reaction speeds. In regards to 4:59 though, you throw in the entire sugar and flour still in their glass bottle and bag, which is very funny to me. I'm not saying it needs overhauling though! I just think it's funny. In regards to the map, I think it being dark at night is a GENIUS idea. However, you say you want it to be shrouded in clouds for mystery on its location (very clever I think) but then when you zoom in, the cloud border is still there. Surely the cloud border should vanish when you've zoomed in? All it's doing is blocking some of the edges of the map. Even at 7:36 when you zoom in, Flower Fields becomes obscured by those clouds and you have to scroll the map to see it again. Overall I'm so excited for how it's coming along. The visuals, as always, are superb. The title screen is phenomenal. All the visuals are amazing, from the food icons to the little hanging charms on the side of the houses. The blurriness of the food boxes to show depth of field when you're looking for chef frog are a brilliant touch. I will say though, that the teapot on top of the chef's house looks... Incomplete? I think that's because it's plain, unlike the tiles of the roof. Perhaps it, like the cook pot, needs some kind of engraving? It just looks like a different style from the house, which is a work of art just by itself. Very excited for the next update, whenever it comes along! Take care and take your time!

you should put a scroll bar on the side of the cooking inventory. right now when i first saw it it wasn't immediately obvious that you had to scroll down to see the other ingredients

I mean, are we another frog, are we a human, a disembodied entity? Sorry if you already mentioned it in previous devlogs! Also, I know you probably already have a full list of dishes, but I kinda hope there are lily-patties of some sort ^^
