At first I was thinking that seeds/ingredients should have guaranteed availability at certain times of the day, but I really like the tip jar solution. It's so cute, and in a way it makes the game more immersive. Absolutely following this adorable project! 💜

I think it would really add to the feel of the shop if the shopkeeper would dive under the counter (like the product information sign) and come up again when you press the bell, only to wear an extra hat, for now they are selling decoration! You could even make the shopkeeper hold the product information sign to emphasize that they are working for you. Loving the style so far.

When you mentioned the toys as "hard" and "durable," or "soft" and "squishy," I thought it would be interesting to use those as tags. I think I remember you saying you wanted different frogs to have different preferences, so maybe one frog could like soft things, another one likes hard things, etc. And also, maybe you could add hats for frogs, since I know a lot of people like to place a hat on their frogs lol

I can’t believe you’ve done so much in just 2 months! I absolutely LOVE the new shop. I’m losing patience every new devlog.The shop is amazing, I think you could make it a bit more prominent comparing to the rest of the area though, just so it looks like something important. It would be so cute if the longer you game goes on, the more at home the NPCs make themselves in the area. Like having furniture and things outside the Merchant’s cart that makes it feel more home like! 😊

The frogs and them cooking is cute. It's cool people share about them making a game. 1:32 It's cool you add other people's art into your game. 1:56 I kinda like there being walkway paths. I prefer devs give people as many options as possible. Like if they want paths or not. 3:30 cool toys 4:22 Clutter doesn't necessarily mean cozy. Clutter means mess to me. Which I don't like. I think clean is cozy. I think your aesthetic is simplistic yet that's cozy. Things like wood cabins are cozy, even if they're clear and not cluttered. 4:27 Some tasteful additions like curtains are good.

Really love the visual aesthetic of the traveling cart- both internal and external. The shopkeeper is a little small (which I suppose makes sense, since they're a wee froggy), but they're super cute as well. It was also a really smart workaround you did with the seed and produce sales.

This is looking so good! One ridiculously small thing I noticed is that at the location where the shop is, one of the trees just barely overlaps with the shop when the wind blows, creating a tangent. Super small and unimportant but it should probably be skootched to either look to be intentionally covering the shop or to not cover it when the wind blows.

There could be lighting in the shop to make it more cozy, like light rays and seeing dust particles in the light, also lighting should be in game overall, you can see clouds that shadow the sunlight and you can see the shadow of the cloud slowly moving. Think that could add to the ambience. I also think that the furniture and toys could be rotated like the seeds, similar to tsuki’s odyssey. And, if you weren’t already planning on doing this, I think decorating should be a big part of this game. I’m a big fan of decorating in cozy games.

That's a great suggestion! Dust particles/rays would definitely make the shop cozier :) And yes, decorating will be an important aspect of the game!

i have some random ideas: - i think it would also be great if the items on the right side of the shop would only rotate dayly. it would give the day system a bigger impact on the game and with the tipping jar it woulnd be super frustrating if the seeds you wanted didnt show up that day - for the surroundings of the shop i think it would look very cute, if it would stand next to a little path. It would also give the general visuals of the game a bit more variety - and last i think it would be cool if the shop would close at night :) I really liked everythink I saw it the video. really looking forward to what is coming next! :)

Lovely looking game! I really love the idea of the frog merchant getting happy with every purchase, I wonder if it was possible to give him animation where he looks like in a rush to switch the seed/produce display everytime you tip the refresh jar. So at the end of the day he would be happy but tired from all the work he put into his awesome display! It's always the little things like these that make games look alive in my eyes. wow this episode made me all the more excited to play this!! it’s just getting better and better. i LOVE the little details like how u click the bell to switch between toys and deco, and that sparkle particles pop out of the merchants head when u buy something🥹 just keep adding little details like that, like maybe if u click a tree, leaf particles fall, just little things like that. it reminds me so much of zelda in a way!!

I love the shopkeeper! I think their the best character yet. I don’t know how hard this would be to implement but I love the idea of the hanging things in the shop having physics and being able to interact with your cursor. Also, I love the idea of a decoration that you could buy that’s a frog sculpture, and you could do something (idk what) to make it into a gargoyle frog.

You could add achievements and goals. Although that's something you might want to add later in the development of the game You could also add weather, like rain and thunderstorms. Also a cool king frog walking around would be cool. Also great job on the game looking nice so far ❤

Ahhh this is so cute!! You're doing an amazing job! As someone who has seen a LOT of games have issues with inflation and money, one thing to potentially consider is breaking the prices down. For example, if everything is in multipliers of 5, it might be simpler and help contribute to the idea of a simple, cozy world to have very simple, low prices. E.g.: 25, 30 and 50 becomes 5, 6 and 10 coins, and a 300 cusion is now 60 coins. Winning coins becomes a much more important and significant event, and having items *feel* wildly expensive (even if the ratios are the same) can affect the "vibe", if that makes sense. The idea of exchanging a coin or two for a warm meal feels a lot cozier than shelling out 50 bucks for it, at least imo. c:

It would be pretty cool to see time-bound shop items. Some items, say, that are themed with stars, would only be sold at night. Or maybe some rain-themed items would only be sold during rainy in-game days. This is just something I thought would give the game more life. Anyway, loving these devlogs. The only thing that I can think of to improve the shop is to have a way to communicate to the player that the bell cycles the deco/toys shelf so that the player knows that the bell does something at least. I love watching the progress on this game and really enjoy the vibes. Keep it up!

You should add advancements that will help you to unlock many new items like a magical fairy lamp that will decrease the time of the crops so they will grow faster

Some little ideas/recommendations: A little animation from the frog merchant when you enter the shop, maybe a wave? Fertilizer that instantly grows crops Upgrades ti the farm that allows for more space, larger harvest or faster grow time The little frog guy looks like an alchemist so maybe some jars and bottles in the background would be nice?

Hey, I really love how this shop looks and how cozy it feels. I have two small suggestions. the first is to make the whole house clickable to enter the store, not just the window, I'm sure people will figure out that they have to click the shop window, but if there is no reason to have to click the shop window specifically (like maybe you can visit the merchant at his house??) it would streamline and be a quality of live thing, c: tiny thing but it adds up. Also, I love the glass door in front of the seeds shelf, what I would do tho, is to make it open automatically as soon as you go over it with your mouse, it again is a small thing but quality of live for the player c: Pls keep making those amazing cozy game!

Consider it wishlisted... I really like the new lines, I've found that making the lines similar colors to the object, really helps smooth it out, and makes it look cleaner. Works great for cozy art like this. The shop feature looks great so far, I like how many things the shop has that you can interact with, and I can't wait to see all the toys and decorations that will be added in time! the merchant's adorable :O Keep up the great work! 👍

you should add a toad. a secret toad. obtainable by interacting with a rock 10 times. acheivement: "Rocky. You blinked!" and the 1st time you interact with it thr frog says "Rocky. lets play dont blink." and random things as th 9 more times. then the toad comes out behind the rock and says "howd you know i blinked? anyway heres the acheivment" its a great easter egg.

This game is shaping up to be so adorable! One thing that struck me is the proximity of the bell and the tip jar in relation to each other. Since you are developing largely for mobile, i wonder if people may accidentally tap the tip jar when they are just trying to hit the bell, and then they would be out 100 coins unintentionally. Maybe you could add an "are you sure?" Prompt to the jar to reduce accidents or spread them out a bit more? Some peeps have fat fingies lol 😸🐸

The shop and merchant are so cute! 🥰 I like the art for each unique location and building, and using the map to jump there. I'm glad you slowed the cooking mini-game. Quick-time events in general are an accessibility issue, and i personally have a lot of difficulty with them. I do okay with the oven timers in Overcooked2, but I have trouble when multiple other factors are added: skewers and bellows, for instance.

I see that those decor only be decorated on the outside, but what about inside of the room? Right next to a cozy fireplace? You van add the outside place for decorating and also go inside of the player's cozy room. (It's a fancy way to tell that you should have a cluttered indoor room filled with books, plants and anything cozy in it. Even more cozy if it's raining or stormy and the player get to sip a warm drink right next to the fireplace. Those toy cushions would fit perfectly indoors) also played with lofi beats on the background Few decor ideas: lantern with a frog plushie, stack of books with a frog, cushion with a frog on it, ect.

It would be very cute if when cooking, there is a little frog that stirs the soup, sorta like the app Cats and soup, o or a recipe book with discovered recipes, you could even buy the recipe book from the shop

Thank you! Frog accessories would be super cute, but I think each frog will instead have a specific theme (ex. Pirate frog, santa frog, etc). However, maybe there could be a unique frog that players can customize!

Your game is so cute! I'm excited to see where it goes. You've inspired me to take a shot at creating my own cozy games! The shop is so unique! one thing i would add is some kind of shopping cart so players can review what they've already purchased. Especially for the seeds, since they don't sell out, players could forget how much of each seed or produce they bought! The other option would be to make their inventory easy to access so they can check what they've got from there.

Great devlog yet again! 😊 I like how you solved the problem with the amount of slots available in the shop. I thought you were gonna add a scroll bar to see more than 15 items, but instead you added a fun mechanic with the items available changing every few minutes. It really feels like this idea came from this problem so that's nice, very clever! The jar is great idea to give the player more control. Random idea: I think there is a day/night cycle in your game right? Maybe you have items in the shop rotate every day. This way it's less "gamy", more coherent within your world and give weight to you day/night cycle even more.

I love the look of this and am super excited to follow development. One suggestion I have is adding tooltips when you hover over things to show the name. In some places you can click on them to see it like the shop but for example in the cooking or planting you don't see the name of the item just the sprites. Tooltips would be nice QoL and also probably helps with accessibility :) Keep up the great work!
