I think it's a good way of story writing you are choosing. In japanese shonen manga, I never really feel like shipping characters because, let's be honest here: a lot of the mangaka su*k at writing romance storys and especially in writing great female characters. Most of the time they are rather boring. They are trying to cover that with making them super cute, hot or super strong, but in the end they are not very interesting. Honestly, it's a problem many action story have, no matter if movie, comic or video game. I'm always happy when I don't have to read any forced romance because sometimes the writing so horrible bad that it kinda ruins the intersting part of the story. So I understand why there seem to be a lot of shipping fans for opal (or neona), she already looks interesting at first glance and her character is not one of those *"we need a cute side character who's actually just created to make the main characters look more interesting"* objects. It feel like she is diverse enough to tell her own storys and combined with emotional storytelling and relationships it can be even more exciting to read. Therefore I think it's a great thing that you don't want to give the potential of some nice love storys away.

This is precious and hilarious, Ryuzaki reminds me of Bakugou from My Hero and Raichi from Blue Lock but he has Sanji and Zoro vibes, maybe because he was threw a hissy fit when he heard out of pocket bs and had that brotherly attitude or maybe his vibe, but I was immediately drawn to him 😂

Man, I love shonen manga. But I also love shoujo manga. But I always wanted to read a shoujo thats kickass with fights and powers like a shonen, or a shonen with romantic canon relationships like a shoujo! But I have no idea what has that, and as of right now, I still haven't really found much(If anyone could recommend me some, I'd be so grateful) I think SatAM's Saigami is the only one I know that comes to mind from the bit I read. But it's def nice to see shonen main characters that doesn't shy away from romance or do very little in order to make everything shippable(to only serve the fans)

"Colleen's manga recs" Chanel has a lot of good stuff if you try to find a shojo like that. Qq sweeper or queen quality was a highlight for me.

In terms of shoujo manga, Akatsuki no Yona would fit the bill. It's an adventure series with great characters, some nice fights and a pretty good romance on the side. On the shounen side, if you don't mind sports series, there's Baby Steps(tennis), where the main pair start dating fairly early in the series and their relationship plays a big role as they help support eachother. For a more traditional battle shounen, I hear Twin Star Exorcists is pretty good. Haven't read it myself, but I'm aware the main pair actually get together early and I hear their relationship is even plot relevant. The same author made Binbougami ga!, that also had a pretty good romance side-plot, but that one's more of a comedy series.

Well I am all in for lily and sano. These two characters together actually complements each other . They can also also egage the plot of the story and freshen things up a little. Although I also like Opal but I will ship her more with the other guy who was with her during the rescue arc.

The thing I noticed in Shounen, at the least the main stream ones, is that they make the female characters be the one in love with the main protagonist. Her feelings are almost always explicit. At some point she will have her iconic moment where she confesses her love. The main protagonist on the other hand looks at first glance to be aromantic with how disinterested they are in girls and are more focused on achieving their goal. Eventually he forms a bond with said female character, is often protective of her, and his feelings for her are ALWAYS implicit in subtext and the fandom always accuses the relationship to be nonexistent or one sided. Personally I don’t mind this dynamic. Because two of my biggest Shounen manga OTPs follows this formula to the T. However with that said I would love to see a shounen manga where the main protagonist is just as explicit in his feelings for the girl he loves and to see them actually DATE in the manga itself rather than say how they got together off-screen and do a time skip where they are married and have kids.

Im not gonna lie, romances in shonen anime and manga like Naruto , DBZ and so many others are not very good as most of those relationships happened off-screen. And there's hardly any reasoning on how or why they got together. So mangaka attempting to write Romance in a battle manga/comic is a little tricky but interesting. Sano and Opal's relationship has gotten to a point where I am really rooting for them to get together. Because they do have a lot of good chemistry so I wonder how you are going write romance in your book.

StarGazer(Lily + Neon) StarGazer is a lily flower that's pink and Neon's last name is Mercury which goes with the stargazer theme. RoseQuartz( Ruby + Lily) Pretty self explanatory Glacier Magic(Lily + Opal) Glacier Magic is a white rose. Ivory(Symon + Lily) I couldn't think if anything.
