It is very important not to merge faith with science, in Islam, there's no other side of the spherical world, and in science, there's no seven heaven or the throne, any attempt to align the two is futile and destructive to the very foundation of both, however to remain a Muslim and a scientist at the same time is possible, not in the sense of one leg in and one leg out, rather in the sense of knowing when Islam is talking and when science is talking. Generally speaking however, the direction at which things fall down firm to earth (gravity), like our feet, suggest the earth, the pointing opposite like our head means the heaven, telling us that our creator is not affected by the gravity and ultimately the time that is affecting us. Therefore if the Quran say Allah above the heaven, I believe that and I'm fine, if science say the universe is heaven I'm fine.

What prompted Jake to discuss aqida is that he was scheduled with a fellow Muslim to debate non-Muslims. Jake decided to drop out from the debate because he didn’t know the aqida of his colleague. Jake said in a video that in the field of dawa, one must identify his aqida in order for the opposite side to be able to address you based on your belief system. It’s also necessary for when you team up with another Muslim to debate non-Muslims so your team member doesn’t get blindsided during the debate. Jake referred to a debate that colleague had where the topic of his aqida was brought up. In fairness to the concerned colleague, the debate could’ve continued without him identifying his aqida and in fairness to Jake there will be some instances where the debate hinges on identifying one’s aqida. I am not in favor of these topics be handled on YT. Especially on channels geared towards non-Muslims. Jake could’ve contacted the concerned person and shared with him his thoughts. Or he could’ve just made a video stating the need for those in dawa to identify their aqida without going into discussing the aqida of other groups. I’m a Salafi and believe that these topics are necessary to be discussed. Of course I want the other groups to adopt the Salafi belief. However, they should be discussed by scholars and on channels dedicated for a Muslim audience and not channels dedicated to debating non-Muslims. Brothers (owner of this channel included), I believe that we should be focusing on getting this message to Jake rather than feeding these arguments between the aqidas of the Ahlus-Sunnah. Even if some may believe that others are not in Ahlus-Sunnah, leave it for the scholars in Muslim channels. If we make it personal, both sides will be stubborn and no one will win because this is not the venue to discuss these things. I’m a Salafi, but I think that there’s confusion caused from the two words “garath” and “illah” which may be understood as “purpose” or “need”. Depending on their understanding, the discussion yields different outcomes. If the correct intent in the Ashari belief is that they mean “purpose”, then Jake has a valid point. The “purpose” of doing something is intertwined with its “wisdom”. The “purpose” doesn’t mean a “need”. For example, the purpose of creating man is to worship Allah (سبحانه و تعالى). That doesn’t mean that Allah needs this worship. If the correct intent in the Ashari belief is that they mean “need”, then it’s correct to deny this as Allah is not in need and is not obliged. However, the opponents of Ashari claim that when studying the Ashari belief it is apparent that they do in-fact deny “wisdom” and “purpose”. I am not in a position to weigh-in on whether they do or not. I’m stating that even if we take the Ashari explanation in this video, the meaning of those two words are not clearly identified and they maybe causing a problem. The other thing is the claim in this video that the Tafseer was done by the Ashari is misleading. Even if they had Scholars that did Tafseer, this line of scholarship was not exclusive to Ashari. Now, what do the non-Ashari accept or reject from the Ashari Tafseer, I don’t know.

Dim witted slafis cannot understand the structure of the universe. To salafists every thing is literal , so when the quran says every thing will perish except His face ( Allah SWT ) what do they say here ??? . They still insist the earth is flat like bn bz and uthaimin and faawzan.
