I understand that in our secular liberal societies, something like this doesn't seem bad to many of us because we have been inspired by various schisms, cultures, and sub-cultures. The Scholar is holding the man to a higher moral standards. To truly understand why he is studying. Why knowledge is valuable? It is to remember Al Haqq, The Reality.

What the student did fell more so in the "grey" area of haram, wasn't appropriate for the sheikh to literally lose his mind. If he was genuinely flirting, then ok, good, but it was definitely undeserved. Since it was in private dms, the female student clearly notified the sheikh, the sheikh could have advised her to block him to keep everything excellent. But no. He lost his mind. I have a question when We say humans have hand so Allah can't have hands because nothing is like him but then why we don't say that humans have knowledge or humans can see so that's why Allah can't have these. Why the rulings are different
@HasanYusufzai2 ай бұрын
Allah’s Sifat are unlimited; His Knowledge is not limited to the happenings of the universe, it is beyond that. His Sight is not like our sight because it is not limited by the use of eyes, which require receptors to understand the light bouncing off objects. Additionally, Allah’s sight is not limited to seeing physical objects; He sees everything: what is in the heart, what will come to pass, etc. Like so, His Yadd would not be limited by space, shape, texture, etc; this by definition is not a hand, as a hand is a limb that has appendages called fingers. So unlike Existence, or Knowledge, we wouldn’t translate Yadd. We affirm it as a Godly Attribute, but negate it being a hand.

According to the 'logic' that you Ash'aris use, you would be led also to think falsely that affirming the Hearing and Seeing of Allah ﷻ is likening Him to His creation, when that is not the case. فَاطِرُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا وَمِنَ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ أَزْوَٰجًۭا ۖ يَذْرَؤُكُمْ فِيهِ ۚ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِۦ شَىْءٌۭ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ "...There is nothing like Him, for He ˹alone˺ is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing." - 42:11

I think its a blessed day to propose expecting a beautiful marriage life. Why this teacher is treating it as some sin? in a world where Haram is literally on the finger tips, I think that brother reaching for her for something Halal is applaudible, given he says "wife" not "friend" of "girl-friend". This is normal as a man, and I dont think he violated any Adab there. To curse him for that like that is insane.
@luce36192 ай бұрын
It isn't beautiful. He was distracted in the middle of a lesson and disturbing someone who went there to gain knowledge in the blessed nights of Ramadan not to flirt. If he wanted to approach her for marriage, he'd have asked her for her Wali's number outside of the lesson time and during the day. The Shaykh is right.

@@drev3801 I don't think the Shaykh went overboard. This is not the kind of thing to have patience for as this can cause societal issues (normalising haram, etc). Therefore there should be harshness involved when dealing with these situations. The student didn't demonstrate proper adab for the month of Ramadan, for the knowledge he was seeking, for his teacher and towards the woman he messaged. How would a woman feel if a random man messaged her directly? You may disagree but just because haram is easy doesn't mean the shaykh should tolerate the disrespect the student showed on multiple levels. I think this lecture probably took place in a muslim country so that might also be the reason why he was so harsh.
