Morning Ian, good to see you out on Scorpion again.🙂. A few points to comment on with this one: MPG - I'm regularly getting 74 - 75mpg out of my Guerilla, quite happy with that, as you say they are great bikes to ride and that's what its about. Rides in Wales - have you done the "Hell Fire Pass" yet. From Lake Vrnwy to Dinas Mawddwy? That's a good run if little challenging over the mountains. Alternatively turn right to head towards Bala rather than left for Dinas, that's a superb ride also. De-Cat pipe. There is one already a available from India, think its 45 quid with postage and saves around 3kg in weight. Can't say I noticed to much difference in noise levels though. There is a KZbin video on the fitting of it and a decibal sound check. I'll see if I can find the channel again. 2 bikes down to 1- I always asked myself the same question and whether the Meteor or Classic would go could never answer that one😅. Now that ive swapped the Classic for the Guerilla I'm missing the Classic and considering swapping the Meteor for another Classic. Decisions, Decisions. Anyway, looking forward to the Welsh adventures, all the best mate.🙂👍

Afternoon Jonathan. I think, if I had covered more miles, the average mpg would have increased. I will make a point to check next time out in Wales. Talking of which, no not done the Hell Fire, so will definitely check that one out. I saw that chap fitting the de-cat on the Himi 450, but unsure whether it is compatible with the Guerrilla, as for some reason (don’t know why), they look slightly different. I really would struggle to let Clementine go, apart from that, Ann would probably divorce me. She was heartbroken when we said goodbye to Honour (Interceptor) 🫣😂 Cheers

A lady in Miami a few years ago made an illegal 90-degree right turn in front of me from the left parking lane and said when I was on the ground that she didn't see me--so sorry! Bike totaled and I was in the trauma center. Happy New Year! I love how you pass everyone in sight to get clear😂! You sure mutter along and bicker. Reminds me of my grandfather from decades ago. Nice to see that we still have free speech😉.

We call them “SMIDSY’s” (Sorry mate I didn’t see you)……absolutely no excuse in my humble opinion. I have had a couple take me out over the years, one on my bike, and one in a car. I dislike having anything in front of me, so they have to be despatched asap 😂. Unfortunately, our right to free speech is being restricted, we have to be careful what we say nowadays, in case it offends someone. Here on KZbin, as a content creator, if you say the wrong thing, your channel could be taken down, as quickly as a click of the fingers. 🤬 All the best.

@ I fully agree on dispatching of obstacles that throw muck and are unpredictable. Good to lead. I see that the British (incorrect) use "despatch" and Americans use "dispatch "! I like that SMIDSY acronym! I see that you ranked highly on TAYM poll of KZbin channels 😉! Good job.

Belated Happy New Year and congrats on your Taym ranking, Ian; well deserved! 👍 Re the MPG, I reckon that you're doing ok, given the way that you like to ride. Back in the early '60's my Jawa 250 single used to get about 65 mpg on the 75-mile run to my military base, though I didn't hammer it, as it was my sole means of transport. I'd cruise at around 60 mph down the A423.

Thanks Chris, and all the very best to you too. Yes, the TAYM poll result really did take us by surprise, especially being quite a small niche. As for the mog, I don’t think it was a fair average, needed to have done more miles to get a proper idea, so will try and remember to check on it on future rides. Cheers

On a side note have you tried that product called Dry Spark-cal , I used it for the first time and it’s fantastic , it literally takes seconds for your bike to look like new infact better . It’s so good I’ve decided to buy the one for cars . It’s excellent for taking with you when you go away. Amazon has them all at a good price.

Have been down the south of Cumbria, it’s not a national park and not so many people go there , it’s harder to find places to stay and harder to get around as some places don’t have proper roads . as far as the car having a wide windscreen pillar is concerned , if you can't see what's coming you hold on for a second and move you're head and look around it , and he lazily cut the corner as well ! that's an agonising question on which bike to part with ,that's why I held back on getting rid of my Vstrom and my SV , but yes sometimes you have to bite the bullet and go for the best all rounder , and the Guerrilla has some of the character of the classic but more of the speed for the faster roads and "spirited" riding eh! 😉

Another great video! I do love the Rpyal Enfields (Interceptor 650 owner) When you say your audio is clipping, mine does that. I've started using Davinci editing software, huge learning curve and lots of video research, but it has an excellent sound editor built in. There is a free version that does mostly everything the paid version does. There's a setting in it that you can edit the sound clip attributes and also you can normalise audio levels for KZbin. Seems to work ok. Apologies if you already knew this! Roll on the decent weather 😃
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 күн бұрын
Hi Paul, yes, all my vids are created in Davinci. The thing is, I prefer the audio to be raw, so hopefully I can sort it through the mic position, and in camera recording volume. I haven’t messed about with audio editing yet, but might just have to start looking at it a bit more. Thank you, and all the best for 2025, let’s hope we have better weather this year.
@paulkiley46673 күн бұрын
@ianhughesroyalenfield all the best for 2025 mate. I've just upgraded to the Osmo action 4 and along with the mic transmitter I also bought the DJI lavalier mic. I've only tested it in the house so far so it remains to be seen how it is when on the bike. I know what you mean about raw sound, I like to hear the engine and my voice on my videos. Trial and error getting it right I guess!
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 күн бұрын
I have recently moved from the OA3 with DJI mic adapter and a wired mic, (I did try DJI’s own lav mic, but found it too hot), to the OA4 and Mic Mini. The physical size of the Mic Mini, makes it ideal to place in front of the cheek pad, but as my helmet is getting on a bit, it isn’t the quietest, and plenty of wind circulates around the chin area, which is perhaps why I am still getting the clipping. With the wired set up, I was getting clipping at 50-60mph and even less when riding in the dirty air from other vehicles. At least now, it usually happens over the National speed limit, or on gusty days, and when following in dirty air. Yes, it’s all a learning curve, one which I weirdly find frustrating and satisfying in equal measure 😂
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 күн бұрын
Ps, I have just subbed 😉
@paulkiley46673 күн бұрын
@@ianhughesroyalenfield I know exactly what you mean😂. I find the editing process extremely frustrating and to be honest I thought I'd never get to grips with it. Fast forward a few months though and I can get by, I'll never be a pro editor or film maker but I don't need to be. I want my videos to be good enough to watch and to be heard, also I want the sound of the bike. I'll see how my new set up fairs next chance I get to use the bike. I placed the DJI lavalier into the cheek pad, buried into the foam and covered with the fabric hopefully it'll be ok, we'll see! The helmet I use is an Arai Debut V.

Last month at Jolly's I met a guy who has a meteor and he said he removed the cat himself, I asked how? And knowing him to be a mechanic I waited for a technical but well explained and detailed explanation, he replied "he took the end bit off, got a long straight crow bar and rammed it in the end several times then hit it with a lump hammer and then tured the exhaust upside down and all the bits fell out" simple he said and then asked me if I would do that "I said no" 😂😂

It's an A-pillar issue plus laziness, as drivers refuse to move in their seat for a better view. To prove this to myself, I went to a local right hand bend whose radius eliminates all the oncoming traffic from entry to exit. Unless you move your head forward, you wouldn't know you'd approached 5 or 6 cars until they're alongside, never mind a motorbike. I've sounded my horn on too many corner cutters who are shocked there's anyone in front of them.
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 күн бұрын
I do accept there could be a blind spot on his car, but if he had driven properly, he would have seen me. Instead, as you say, laziness, and a poor decision kicked in, when he decided to just look left, pull out, cutting the corner. Definitely a knob head 😂.

Strangely enough, I ride more “confidently” when I have stone walls either side of me, than when in open moorland. It is a bit like the difference between those racers who compete on “The Roads” (like NW200 and IOM TT) and those who compete on the tracks (like Silverstone, or Donnington Park). Rarely are riders good at both. When I watch footage/vids from the USA, I can’t believe how many riders don’t know how to take a bend, or worse still, a section of bends, as wide as they are 😂. Consider this, we don’t know any different, so we hone our skills accordingly 😉 Personally, I purposely seek out these gnarly/twistie “dangerous” roads, as they give me such a buzz 😂
