There are things that you are missing I think. Wyatt died and did get out. He got to the same place that the naturalist was and is. I don't think this is about "snapshots". I think everything might be happening all at once. This feels like we're looking at higher dimension events but without the ability to actually see the higher dimensions. He experienced both events at once, which is why his arm is hurt. Not having reception doesn't mean he's not from this world. It means he did not make it back "home" any more than he did when he died. He's been dispersed. He is many places and times at once, like the botanist, who may exist in the Giant, the past, and elsewhere at the same time.

I have a theory that the drving part us not the giant in a way i think it is the car but we are seeing what the main character sees his warped version if the world

I don't have the time to fully go into this, but I feel like there's also a strong theme of nature vs man-made objects. Julien was a botanist with a deep appreciation for love and nature. After his death, he was recreated as a piece of art only to then end up in arguably one of the most soulless places: a dying mall. Fluorescent lights, tiled floors, and large halls. And he would be stuck there, until the very end. I think it is reasonable to assume he is also stuck in a similar way in the mall in the story. A very important detail people brush off is how Wyatt mentioned he studied botany before switching to business. It could represent a turn from humans loving and caring for nature to instead building sprawling buildings to make a profit.

With regards to Wyatt's injured left arm. There was a brief moment where he slammed his right arm into a wall during his sprint through the hallways. If he is a mirrored/flipped version of himself, that injury would now be to the left arm.

I still find the giant on the road at the end strange. Sure, his viewpoint might not move up or down, but we see him looking *sideways* while still moving forward. We can hear his typical rooling too. We have never seen him be able to twist, and so far he was only able to move forward and turn, not swerve to the side, so I don’t know who that‘s supposed to be possible.

So the spirit of the forest allows JR’s spirit to live on with it as the mascot of acceptable humanity.
