god, the season 6 king's landing arc was so pointless. you can tell all of it had no purpose except to set up the "grand" finale where margaery, the other tyrells, the high sparrow and a couple other characters get eliminated at once. either they didn't know what to do with the tyrells, or they just got tired of writing them, so they just killed the entire family (minus olenna, but she's a redwyne either way), but it's just so cheap and falls flat. people call the sept explosion in 6x10 a great scene, but i disagree. the music is great. natalie dormer's acting is great. the visual effects are great. but the writing really isn't all that good, especially with hindsight - you can never feel the impact of the scene afterwards. it is almost never mentioned the following season. no consequences are faced. such a lazy resolution. take away the music and the scene instantly loses most of its power. a pig with lipstick and a dress on is still a pig. the dress and lipstick are pretty, sure, but beneath it all is still a dirty animal who rolls around in mud and shit.

The white savior memes with Daenerys are pretty funny, but the scene is a pretty good one. Also it makes sense that Davos would not hold Tyrion, his wartime foe, responsible for the death of his son. Tyrion was doing his duty to protect Kings landing.

This episode is a great example of something they did throughout Season 6 became so frustrating with time. They would dip their toes into the lore they essentially abandoned in Season 5 but do it in such a superficial way. I remember feeling excited that certain things finally got screen time, but very disappointed in how they handled it.

GOT Season 6 Episode 6: Jaime can’t solve the High Sparrow problem by killing them all because of how the public would react GOT Season 6 Episode 10: Cersei can solve the High Sparrow problem and her Tyrell problem by killing them all and some of the public. The King’s Landing public will support her the rest of the show

37:00 It’s a shame because some courts have allowed people to claim damages for frivolous DMCA takedowns that don’t consider fair use, but the steps to get there will hardly be worth it and have no guarantee of success. There really should be a better system for all of that

It's too bad. I was slightly excited. I downloaded the character creation and got more excited. Then I saw gameplay and... Nope. Not for me. Fights are fun but I need more. Then I heard they had micro transactions and decided I won't even pay for the game when it's on sale. Maybe I'll play some if it drops on my doorstep for free.

They did the same with Arya. One moment shes all about family sticking together the next she leaves Winterfel by herself to cross one last name of her revenge list. The next moment (after leaving her family for revenge) she doesn't care about revenge anymore. Then we get that pathetic scene of her almost dying 30 times only to point out to Jon that Daenerys is a killer..

One day you two will get that invite to GRRM's ranch, and when you get there you'll be jumped by Elio and Linda, who'll tie you to chairs and force you to watch as they and Geroge rank every gag you've ever made at his expense...🙄

19:00 she insulted him so hard here. “You think I’d leave for a bushel or oranges!”, like, you didn’t have to be a jerk about it. If she had played this better she might have been able to keep cristan from confessing and falling into his downward spiral.

Tristane being killed for literally no reason was so colossally stupid that I legitimately forgot it happened until I watched this video. I thought the guy who appears to represent Dorne in S8E6 was supposed to be Tristane, and I'm still not convinced he wasn't - D&D probably forgot they killed him off too

Much like how Davos died and was replaced with Dave when Stannis died, Littlefinger died in Season 6 and was replaced with Petey. All of his power and influence came from his loyalty to the Lannisters so it made no sense for him to betray them and go to help Jon, who doesn't like or trust him, at the request of Sansa, who doesn't like or trust him, with the Lords of the Vale, who don't like or trust him. It seems pretty clear that the writers just wanted a cliched miracle saviour scene at the end of BotB and didn't think about what Littlefinger would gain from it, which was nothing. Then they forgot about him for half of S7 until they realized Aiden Gillen charged too much for them to keep him around for S8

People seem to fail to recognize that writing an episode is a lot more than spitting out ideas and central plot points. The best example of this is GRRM. He's known and knows where his story is going, yet here we are over a decade later and he hasn't completed book 6. Ideas don't take the time, it's the dialogging and filling in the gaps. I assume that's the bulk of the reason why directors like Stanley Kubrick based all of his movies off of others writings. No one wants to do the dialogue and the filler in between the ideas. As much hate as D&D get. They had to write the material from scratch once they passed GRRM's written work and they were the sol writers (most shows have a dozen writers). They had to do everything themselves and they had to showrun and put it in cinematic format in a matter of months. Give me a break! Those poor bastards didn't sleep for years down the stretch. It was an impossible task. They did good considering everything. And I didn't think the later stuff was the greatest, however when taking everything into account, it's impressive with the little time they had.

Most people were depressed upon watching the final episodes or perhaps the final two seasons, but I was depressed when we found out the GRRM wasn't going to be finishing his 6th book and the show was going to surpass the books, because I understood exactly what it meant. D&D never signed up to write GRRM's novels and it boggles my mind that the public expected these two individuals to do it at a lightening pace including putting it in cinematic form.

1:05 littlefinger might have been confident it would never get back to him, and wanted ned to figure out half the truth that way ned would be honor bound to call out jof and create more chaos littlefinger could take care of, and also probably lead to neds death which would free up cat for littlefinger. so he could def still be helping ned figure out part of the john aryns death mystery.

1:09:37 I read that as Aemond didn't actually think it was worth it. It wasn't a trade for Vaeghar (no idea how to spell her name) his eye was taken by Lucerys as a RESULT of him taking the iguana grandma. It wasn't like she took his eye and surviving that she lets him claim her. It was taken in a moment of passion and anger and the only reason he says it's ok is so the adults around him will stop squabbling. This little boy is forced to bury his own trauma for the sake of the ADULTS around him. That's why when he can finally, maybe take that vengeance he takes the opportunity. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk :)
