The sex pistols could play. Glen Matlock great bass, cook highly underrated drummer and jonesy superb guitarist. Just watch them touring with Frank Carter last month. Brilliant. Anyway, I highly recommend Fulham Fallout by the Lurkers from 78. The Ruts were the last great band before punk imploded. Album is called the Crack.

LOL, there was a band I did live sound for from '84 to '86 that I brought onstage with Sensoria. Larry, that band's drummer, was a big Thick Pigeon fan.

My guess to average most people's favourite albums : 1. Violator (1990) 2. Music for the Masses (1987) 3. Black Celebration (1986) 4. Songs of Faith and Devotion (1993) 5. Ultra (1997) 6. Playing the Angel (2005) 7. Some Great Reward (1984) 8. Memento Mori (2023) 9. Sounds of the Universe (2009) 10. Exciter (2001) 11. Delta Machine (2013) 12. Speak And Spell (1981) 13. Construction Time Again (1983) 14. A Broken Frame (1982) 15. Spirit (2017) It's just my guess, I don't have a ranking of my favorite albums, because I take it that every album is good at something ☺️

I love Bleach too :) Kurt's maniacal screaming in Negative Creep is so awesome and funny at the same time--it feels freeing in a weird way haha. Sometimes though, it's hard to listen to Nirvana because I feel really connected with Kurt as so many do and it gets depressing if I stay steeped into the music too long. However, everytime I take a break, I inevitably come back because his empathy and sincerity hit a chord like few other artists have for me. Unplugged in NY is one of my fav all-time records. Cheers and hope all's well :)

Power pop is one of my all-time favorite styles of music! It’s often written off as passé, but I love it, and I’ll take it over stuff like SWANS or Death Grips or any other kind of hipster music any day of the week! :3

I enjoyed this early entry of yours. I specifically checked this out to see if you made mention of an album from my high school graduation year, but I sheepishly admit to having just 'discovered' recently, and that is "A Trip to Marineville" by Swell Maps. I had long heard of the band, but only just listened to, and loved their two albums, especially Marineville. Great upload, and hope all is well.

Just seen your vid! Spot on! Agree with 99% of your choices, especially Gene Clark compositions and the weird tracks from 5D and Notorious BB. And that top choice wow! Only niggle is position of 8 Miles High (never liked it!) sustitute it with 5th Dimension (greeeeat song). Love love love your top 3 albums ... I have never come across anyone who has the same taste in The Byrds ! Oh, love Power pop and Jangle pop to bits ...🙃 Like seanhutton2849 below, I have been a fan of The Byrds for 40+ years Special mention for 3 Chris Hillman songs on YTY

Very happy that I stumbled across your KZbin stuff...Some great choices HERE..If I was to suggest one album that IMO you should have in your collection from this year I'd suggest Killing Joke's debut..KILLING JOKE.. just for their huge influence on Nirvana alone they deserve a place on the great albums of 1980 :) ...keep this great work up, please..Even tho I'm old and seen many of these bands I have still picked up some artists from your lists ...P.S. if you would like a more modern band that deserve your attention ,,They have post punk/dream pop/shoegaze /dark lyrics going on..Especially in their last 8 albums,,try out ..BLACK SWAN LANE from Atlanta ...They have worked with ex Chameleons members and I was lucky enough to witness Dave Fielding over at their studio to add guitar to their 8th album Vita Eterna..1ST listen should maybe be "Under my fallen sky" only available on cd tho sadly

Hey hannah, enjoyed this one. That Lemonheads is a great if slightly messy album. I'm hoping they release 'Car Button Cloth' soon as I think that one of the most underrated albums of the 90's. Any chance of another video soon, your output is making My Bloody Valentine look like workaholics! Hope all is good! 🙂

Interesting list Hannah. Love your Geno mentions, what a songwriter. I love Sweetheart but get why others find it a jolt, but in my honest opinion Hickory Wind is a song for the ages and One Hundred Years from Now is not too far behind. Those albums up to and including Sweetheart are brilliant and I would argue the Byrds influence on later generations of musicians was greater than the Beatles.
