I BEEN playing fighting games and the only game ive learnt combos on is MKX, exclusively with Scorpian 😅

When teaching someone how to play fighting games I have resorted to screaming "HOLD BACK TO BLOC, YOU BLOCK BY HOLDING BACK, IF YOU MOVE BACKWARDS YOU WILL BLOCK, BACK IS BLOCK" and many more examples of different ways of saying hiw to block because everyone forgets that so fast, but they still forget :(

I suck at motions so I used modern, but I got a hitbox and motions are way easier now so I’m gonna try to transition to classic.

here's the thing with me specifically and the thing a lot of fighting game videos fail to accomodate videos like these are great for people who are familiar with fighting games and how to improve your habits but what happens when you're talking to someone like me who is struggling at the base bottom of the barrel level of the starting point of a game "Uh...how do I do that motion input?" "why isn't this move coming out?" "the game's not telling me how to do it" "this combo trial is too hard!" ...execution how the hell do I "pilot" this game? I'm a guy that plays mostly platformers or 3d action games like zelda and the only fighting game experiance I have is either Smash, ARMS or the occassional arena fighter so I'm used to moves being tied to a button and a direction but then say I sorta get the feel for the inputs and controls once I'm finally in the heat of battle, all that practice I did is now suddenly out the window and I'm just button mashing moves and hoping they string together I need help with THAT part of getting good at a fighting game how do I learn how to CONTROL the game? for you it's second nature and you know to punish something but for me it's all "which button did what again?" so I'm trying to figure out how to fix that, with no luck so far

Ironically, I love them for some reason despite naturally playing "slow".

I recently picked up axl, I am not new to the game nor bad or stuck at a mid level. Man has it been wakeup call for me to start slowing down and working on defense, this video will hopefully motivate me to get better at defense and slowing down.

4:18 neutral is fun, but that’s partially because my character is very good at winning it, except with actual zoners, then I have one neutral skip that ain’t very good without meter and a great poke that really only works against one of them (asuka, I feel bad, but get absolutely thrusted) axl’s pretty darn hard for me, because even though I figured out I have to block, my approaches get pretty predictable and my usual divekick strats do NOT Work

I laugh whenever someone says “I didn’t pay $60 to block” No I didn’t pay $60 I paid nothing. I was gifted the game. And I am going to mistfiner to get you off me after blocking for two hours.

Wait... people deadass hate neutral? It's one of my favorite parts of a fighting game match. Jumping and dashing around each other, trying to measure and bait each other out, attempting to close or open up distance, attempting to get in on the opponent and initiate an interaction. It's like 50% of everything in fighting games, how can you not like it let alone think it's boring? I dunno am I crazy here?

Well hey neutral isn’t that bad proceeds to be bad at neutral because he thought it would be a good idea to switch to a controller that professionals use and it’s fancy and looks cool and omg it is so weird to use but I love it at the same time and now I’m stuck at mid to low tear because I’m learning this whole other style to play because game pads are hard man so hard like why are they like this and allso yes I’m crazy I love ggs neutral I don’t know why but to my dyslexic brain it’s satisfying and fun why is it that fighting games do this to me like come on sorry I went on a went rant what are we talking about right neutral it’s ok I guess

I quit Tekken because the game does not really rewards you for defense. Also, once the opponent got you with launcher or a sweep, you can brew a cup of tea and empty it, because meanwhile your opponent will perform a long ass combo you cannot break by any means Shit, this is the same feeling as getting a headshot in CS right at the beginning of the round, so you have to wait the next for a very long time, and I hate it very very much
