@MarceloDruck you should see the smoke increasing from the exhaust. It's mean you are burning the oil in the gasoline plus the oil on of the mixer that has started to be added. 😊 If you have doubt make 5 liters of fuel 2% oil instead of 3 🫠

Thank you. I have an old px125 and I had a minor fall on it. After that it began to lose all its fuel. The old owner told me that it was the hose and that it was “easy” to fix and that it has to be done “from the top”, “just remove the screws and reconnect the hose”. I did that and it still didn’t come out. Thanks to your video now I know about the oil meter and the gas lock that have to be removed to be able to lift the whole thing up. Thank you very much. I have 2 questions if you don’t mind. 1. In the video you mention to put “2% oil in the gasoline”. Should I be doing this every time? And what’s that for exactly? 2. Since my gas tank is now empty and it dried out, I can see a little rust inside. Is this a problem? If so, how can I clean it up? Thanks again for such a clear video.

Thank for Your feed back. Questions 1. Since You empty you oil line there the risk that You will have some air bubble on it. To be sure the Vespa will run with oil you put it on the fuel. After 3 liter you should have ingested all possible air bubble. Note, You don't have to leave air bubble on the oil line, just in case you have a backup of the fuel oil premix and Piaggio say to do 3 liters. Questions 2, If rust is few spot never mind just program a tank rebuild using some product ( in Italy we use Tankerite) The only risk id that some fuel may leak or some rust dust may clog the fuel jet or carburetor fuel passage. great video thank you! I have a question for you. My '93 Px200 leaks fuel into the engine and exhaust. what could be causing this? Even if the fuel tap closed almost half a litre of fuel leaks in one night!

Thanks for appreciating my videos. Remove the fuel tank anche check in order fuel line, fuel shutoff valve, fuel tank. If the fuel tank is rusted you may consider to fix it or buy a newone. It is also dangerous this huge amount of fuel leaking. Let me know if You need further advice 🙂

Thanks, On Vespa You only need basic tools. just for few jobs You need some special socket (clutch and flywheel) and the torque wrench if You want to be sure for the tightening torque ( better never screw too hard, you may still screw again but once the nut is loose you have to to fix it)

You mean that the lever was moving full scale without braking? You may have old brake fluid. This cause vapor in the brake line due to hot braking and the air compress it self instead of compress the brake pad

Vespa mechanic here. First, while SAE 30w NON DETERGENT oil will work in the gearbox, it is not a good idea to use it in warm weather. It tends to lose its viscosity when really hot. Piaggio recommends SAE 75w85 GL4 (NOT GL-5) gear oil. 75w90 works fine too, as long as it is GL-4. DO NOT use a homemade gasket on the drain plug. That plug is not supposed to use a gasket. It uses a compressible washer. The fill plug uses the same washer. They are very inexpensive. buy a couple dozen of them, and you will never have to worry about it again. Before removing both the drain plug and fill plug, clean off the plug and area around the plug thoroughly. I use spray brake cleaner. I also clean off both plugs after removing them. You don't want dirt in the transmission. You can use any number of ways to get the new oil in. A syringe works, a tiny funnel, the spout on a gear oil bottle, whatever fits in the small hole. You DO NOT need to measure it. You are supposed to fill it up till it is completely full. The way you did it, you didn't have enough oil to start with, and some of that ran down the side of the case.

Appreciate Your comment. For the gaskets I was missing the right size and I did it just to fix it temporary, and I showed just to show how to do it in case of emergency. The tip to clean the plug and the surrounding area is a great tip I will do it from now on Thanks 😃 About the different from synthetic and mineral oil i agree with You but some older Vespa with still some original equipment may experience a shorter life in clutch and some gaskets are in cork and the glue may be deteriorated by the detergent power of the oil (the oil "glass" of the oil tank ha a cork o-ring). As the fill up Your still right in the Italian video I specified, in English I forgot. I will make a new video soon with the some correction. @@GnarledSage Are you talking about the oil injection system tank? What year and model is your scooter? If you are talking about the transmission, it needs either 30W non detergent 4 stroke engine oil, or if you can find it, 75w85 or 75w90 gear oil. It needs to be GL-4, not GL-5. GL-5 oil contains additives that can damage the brass and bronze in the bearings of older vehicles. Don't put 2T oil in the transmission. It is much too thin.

Thanks for taking the time to explain this. Now I know that it’s the gearbox oil the one I should be changing; though some mechanic I asked, said it was not importan to change it if the bike had not being in use, once I told him that the bike had been stored for years. I’m not sure if I trust him on this. I found online the 75W90 GL-4, sold for cars. I hope this is not an issue and it’s the same oil. The 30W is cheaper, but, there’s just 30 and a bunch of 30W”X” with different number at the end. What difference does putting one or the other make? It’s a 1995 Vespa PX150, that was neglected, but, seems to work ok. I’m not sure if this should be taken into consideration too.

@@GnarledSage If you found 75W90 GL-4, use that. That's actually the best oil for an older Vespa transmission. Straight 30W will work, and is what Vespa recommended decades ago. It works ok in cooler climates. But it has to be NON DETERGENT. Regular 30W oil contains detergents that can damage the bearings in the transmission. All 75W90 GL-4 is the same, and is just fine for older Vespa transmissions.

If Your Vespa has the battery the fuse should be located above or behind the battery. If You don't have the battery You may not have even a fuse. Due to different regulation depend of Your country May be some differences. In my Vespa with the key in on position Lights and turn signal doesn't work. It just work only the horn. I have a Vespa with electric start and battery.

Your vespa is 125? If it has stock engine should be between 20 and 25 unless you go very fast. What do you mean that the petrol go very speed engine Crack case? Looks like a carburetor problem. The engine run smoothly at all rpm?
You mean that the engine stall at low rom and you need to keep rom above 2000rpm? Start to clean the carburetor specially the minimum jet. I made a video on carburetor cleaning on a Vespa
