Antibiotics are still available without a prescription online if you do a quick search. I would provide links, but YT deletes them. Pain can me managed by combining Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen. Those two work almost as well as the narcotics. Dr. Joe Alton has a great book on using antibiotics during austere times.

@@zombillaicecream1099 Also, I'd mention that with your wife being a dental assistant, it would probably be well worth investing into a set of dental tools that are relatively cheap in places like Amazon or Ebay. There's a book titled Where There Is No Dentist that was designed as a handbook for dental workers doing fieldwork in 3rd world countries for missionaries, non-profits, etc. I find that one, along with the others in the series on basic medical and women's health to be very valuable resources and can be found inexpensively used on Thriftbooks or Ebay. My friend helped me choose what tools are the most useful to have for my prepping supplies, so your wife would know exactly which ones she would prefer. If times got real bad, she would become your neighborhood's new dentist by default because of her knowledge and experience. Might as well have the proper tools available just in case.

For all intensive purposes the chamber pressures are very nearly identical between the two, maybe a thousand or two more on 22-250, which is not much difference. It's not the pressure that erodes a barrel it's the volume of super heated gasses generated which is obviously more in the 22-250. 223s generally all have a much faster twist rate than a 22-250 which handles longer heavier bullets that have much better ballistic coefficients which makes it actually a better performer than the 22-250 for very long ranges.
@TheBackwoodsHermit
@TheBackwoodsHermit 10 күн бұрын
@@randyphillips559 Just curious, because I'm not aware of any, but are any of those heavy, high BC ones actual varmint bullets or just target bullets? I'm in the camp that doesn't agree with using target bullets on anything with a heartbeat. Most 22-250s I've seen have a slow 1/14 twist which should only stabilize up to about 60grains. Figured that wouldn't matter since most .22 caliber varmint bullets I see are 55gr or less. If the goal is extended range target shooting, then I'd agree an appropriate twist .223 would be better.

I know we all were taught not to judge a book by its cover, but people also intentionally present themselves a certain way through clothes, their walk, their attitude, the look in their face, etc. in order to convey something about themselves to the world. As a woman, I’ve had to be VERY discriminatory about who I’m near in a parking garage or who I’ve let near me at past jobs. Safety depends on it. Especially now that I’ve got kids. If someone’s acting weird or has intentionally presented themselves in an intimidating manner, it’s my job to keep my kids safe and stay away from that person. Personally I love lever actions, including the 30-30. However, one scenario I was in has happened at least once :) A friend of mine wounded a deer, it was his first time hunting. So we track it and the trail disappears near the water. Then we see the wounded deer swimming across the forest lake. Pointless to shoot it in the water, so we wait until it reaches the opposite shore. By that time it's 300-ish yards. We did fire a number of shots and then proceeded to walk around the lake to that spot. At which point the deer swims again. We walked to that spot again and never found it. Sometimes you do have to make shots a bit farther out, even if the woods in general don't let you see past 100 or 150. Likewise with hunting fields in the Midwest/Northeast. You might think my friend made a poor shot, but he had already killed a deer the day prior. Things happen. I'll still use my 30-30, but I like having other options.
