When I retired I changed my previous 2020 BMW M340i for a cheaper to buy and run 2023 Honda Civic e:HEV Advance (first registered in Sept. 2023). I have been blown away by the tremendous ride (better than the BMW), handling and build quality (equal of my BMWs and much better than the AMG Mercs I had before). The Honda just seems SO well engineered and, with the instant torque of the electric motor, it genuinely feels virtually as fast as the BMW on initial pull-away from a standstill up to about 30mph. Various testers in the U.K. have achieved 0-60mph times of 6.8 seconds (0-100kph 7.3secs). Even at higher speeds the Honda, whilst slower than the BMW, it isn’t THAT much slower; I suppose it is about 350kg lighter after all!

My poor E92 320i 170 HP aspirated with short gear ratio (4,1) is as quick if not quicker than this. And my M performance exhausts sounds much better. Shocking! I guess the main difference is aerodynamics, the G42 being shorter can't have such a streamlined profile as mine.

Danke für den Test! Ich persönlich fahre den 250 PS DS9 und halte diese Version als die harmonischste. Man merkt die Mehrleistung gegenüber der 225 PS Variante.

Das jaulen vom 16er Ritzel auf originalen kupplungskorb ist absolut grauenhaft! Hab die Tage auch eine gekauft, wo das umgebaut wurde. Werde ich wieder zum originalen umbauen, das hört sich total schlimm an 🙈

this is fast, but you can just sense how much happier everything would be if it had a supercharger, or some minor/moderate turbo setup. Or some engine porting would help bring out the potential.
