Hi Just followed your guide Taken all bolts out but the starter is stuck solid won’t come out any ideas of how to remove please
@How2FixIt12 күн бұрын
Presuming all bolts removed. Lightly tap until it lifts, then get a pry bar in and hit the bar with hammer and keep working it until it’s loose.

It helped me. But from experience I would change the seals in the pipework first. You can get a seal kit (4seals) from dealers or eBay.

Yes it’s like a rubber sleeve. It was OK in my case but knowing it there now, I would change it next time.

Ensure it’s in park/neutral and all doors and bonnet closed and try again. If not check for fault codes. These can stop it working sometimes.

There's another resistor video looking at the right panel, passenger side. Which one should I use? One deals with fan only working on level 4 and one deals with all 4 fan levels. Which resistor should I install? Temporarily I added a fuse which seemed to work, no problems. But eventually I have to add resistors to deal with the overheating

May i ask what's the point of marking the teath on the old belt and transfer it to the new?Guess so we don't skip a belt tooth?
@How2FixIt120 күн бұрын
It reassures you have correctly fitted the belt. If it’s come off that way and goes back on the same it just reaffirms you that it fitted correctly. But always do the two crank revolution check. This is in my opinion is paramount.
@dimitrisbizakis698620 күн бұрын
@How2FixIt1 if something is wrong, when making the cranking Revolution there must be a resistance on turning?
@How2FixIt119 күн бұрын
@ there will be some resistance. You will feel no resistance at stages and it will go tight (compression) when turning. If the timing is significantly out it will lock. This is what you don’t want Valve to piston contact. So you will experience both free movement and compression, but no lock! Hope this helps you.

Great video. Thanks for uploading. I'm now subscribed. I'm planning to follow this soon. My engine coolant never gets up to 4 out of 8 in the indicator bar on the dash, so I'm pretty sure the thermostat is stuck open. In this case, is it enough just to replace the thermostat and gasket, or would you recommend changing the housing too at the same time?
@How2FixIt124 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment and subscribing. New content uploaded every week pretty much! If I was honest i would just change the housing with the thermostat.

Is a 15 plate approaching 80,000 miles Worth the cost of changing belts or would a new car make more sense.
@How2FixIt124 күн бұрын
I suppose it’s all down to your lifestyle and the condition of the car. It is a serviceable item and would be a shame to not extend the life of the car. Just my opinion!
@melsagelord399124 күн бұрын
It’s got full dealer service record and touch wood other than some leaking oil showing on top, and a replacement thermostat housing, nothing else mechanically gone wrong.

@ there’s a few videos on KZbin stating that Ford are doing a recall on these engines. I don’t know what it involves but maybe look into it. You might get it done under warranty. Let us know what you decide and how you get on.
