Is a 15 plate approaching 80,000 miles Worth the cost of changing belts or would a new car make more sense.

I suppose it’s all down to your lifestyle and the condition of the car. It is a serviceable item and would be a shame to not extend the life of the car. Just my opinion!

It’s got full dealer service record and touch wood other than some leaking oil showing on top, and a replacement thermostat housing, nothing else mechanically gone wrong.

@ there’s a few videos on KZbin stating that Ford are doing a recall on these engines. I don’t know what it involves but maybe look into it. You might get it done under warranty. Let us know what you decide and how you get on.

I will. Yes. But I think you need to be showing a fault or failure to get it. Could be wrong. Don’t know?
