bibisco Free Community is..... to put it as kind as I can, Junk! I worked 7even hours and produced less than 500 words. Zero Documentation. Before I could start, there was a set of wickets to go through without any explanation of why. Formatting? What formatting. The process of actual writing content was like writing in a basic text document, I have not seen in more than thirty years. Seven hours of intense effort produced less than 500 words! I tapped the "export" button - nothing happened. I installed the program on my Windows 11 Desktop with the programs' instructions to match my current Windows system. Don't know why I had to do that. If I wanted to insult my worst enemy, I would recommend this piece of junk.

I asked AI this question about re-ordering: on amazon kdp, can i order more than 5 proof copies, if I order once and then reorder? No, you can't order more than 5 proof copies of your book at a time on Amazon KDP, even if you reorder. KDP limits the quantity of proof copies per order to 5. This is to prevent people from using the proof copy system to get a large number of cheap copies of their book to distribute as advance reader copies (ARCs). Here are some workarounds you can consider: Order multiple times: While you can't order more than 5 at once, you can order 5 copies, then wait for them to arrive and make any necessary changes to your book. Then you can order another 5 proof copies. Hope it helps others!

Sanderson is not the writer we ll remember in 20-30 years His writing isnt at all something that martin or Tolkein is able to do There is that lack of personal connection it's just a story teller style The characters are over blown and aren't iconic Their emotions are held back Personalities aren't rounded He is mostly explaining personality instead expressing through their action this it's not convincing But props to his slogging

There is no chapter break that I can find. it looks like you put in a page break, correct? Also, you move very fast. Please slow down a bit.

If they only want the first three chapters, is there a different way to format? Do I include the acnkowledgements and stuff in the beginning or do I just put tile page and get right into it?

Hey Iasmina, thanks for all of your open and honest vids. As a non-fiction popular science writer, I am often distracted by all of the plot and character tools in writing software and underwhelmed by the tools offered for books intended to explain complex concepts. In particular, when I write I want to be able to write notes in the margins, notes not only to myself but also to my readers. I imagine my book's layout to have the main body text only occupying a column perhaps half or 3/5th the width of the page, with the large margin space available for me to populate with asides, explanations, pull quotes, figures, graphs, illustrations, photos, maps, portraits, step by step guides, side projects, historical notes, biographical notes, experimental data, and other ephemera related to the main body text beside it. Yes yes yes of course there are professional book layout experts who I can hire to do this after the fact, but I'd like to do so as I write, as I work, as I think. I can not find any writing software that allows me to do this both for notes and figures I want to include in my published work, but also notes to me and to to my editors and publisher. Do you know of any software that I could acquire and use in this way? I have of course tried layout software, like affinity publisher and apple iBook author, but these applications aren't flexible, don't easily allow me to make changes to my text or margin notes without screwing up the entire rest of the book. Thanks for your help. Randall

I'm a young writer in the beginnings of my first novel (yay!) genre is ya fantasy. Based on how long my chapters are and how far I am through the plot it looks like the word count will be around 50,000-60,000 words which is kind of short. Although I am not concerned about publishing (my writing skills are far from it, i write as a hobby) I would like to get the word count around 80,000-90,000 words. What are you recommendations to make the book longer? I am planning on going back and adding more details about lifestyle, setting descirption and fleshing out transitions, however I don't think it will significantly add to word count. I just don't want to add any unneccssary and boring scenes that disengage the reader.

Do you think your technical experience as a software engineer drips into your writing? Do you find yourself thinking as sentances as logic or the book layout as code structure?

For the text on the Title Page, go to the Layout tab>Page Setup>Layout and on the page section: Vertical Alignment select center on the drop-down. This will make sure that the text will start at the exact center of the page. Then you can finish by center align your text on the Home tab>Paragraph. This will avoid issues with your text later due to extra returns. 😊 It is also a good habit to always show the formatting symbols on the page while you work with the document as it helps to minimize formatting issues later.

One of my favorites it The Light in Everything by Katya Balen. It’s shorter than a lot of those, true, and it may be aimed for a younger audience, but I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that made me feel the characters feelings so vividly.
