@@SpencerScottPugh Macs now a days have more power than iPad Pro (ever since 16gb became new standard). iPads can only take you so far (depending on the kind of work you do) even with the new pro apps. The more “pro” you are the more features you may require. iPads can provide you with probability, ability to do everything you want to do [stream games notes simple tasks] and almost everything you need to do ( again depending on the type of job you do). Although expensive, Apple is right. iPads and Mac/Macbook combo is the way to go.

Also not considering video editing, that is more like everyone else that’s not a content creator. I always laugh at all the KZbinrs that say no way can you switch to a iPad because of video editing. Well 99% of people are not video editors. So I appreciate your view.

While the iPad is an incredible piece of tech, with powerful capabilities - 2 factors remain a pain point: the *software* still does not allow for the same desktop-app experience you get on MacOS. 2. A base-model 13 inch iPad Air with Magic Keyboard is $1,148 USD. A base-model 13 inch MacBook Air can be had for $1099.00 USD. That comes with more storage and RAM compared to the iPad. Unless your work is specific to the iPad, most people will choose the MacBook Air.

Correct! However, you can’t be one sided here - can you draw on a Mac with an incredible tool like the pencil pro? Can you control a Mac with touch inputs? It all depends on personal use case and preference!

I’ve been using my iPad 4 since it came out as a replacment for my Mac and I can do 90% of the things that I can do on my Mac, I then upgrade to an iPad Pro 13 M4 with 16GB RAM for the power and to truly replace my Macbok M1 but it still misses the mark for me for somthings like running Virtual machines, Video editing film which are not for KZbin and most importantly while you can do coding on an iPad it’s not the same as on a Mac/Laptop. However I am with you for the 90% of the time, for the average user doing average tasks an iPad can be a replacment for most people.

I think not really, at least not for business use as many profession requies bespoke software. However, the iPad is a great addition to the devices and may help to create a better workplace. A support for Mac apps would definitely help.

Indeed not for everyone! Many professions require more than the iPad can provide. Even more than Mac (or vice versa pc) can provide!

Apple needs to get Stage Manager to size windows better. Just have 3 preset sizes for apps, but have them all work.

@@SpencerScottPugh from what i understood , u dont want apps to be sitting their at the left corner and u want them to pop when u drag your cursor their , u can do that by going to settings , stage manager and turn off recent apps . ( feel like i got it wrong tho)

And about the resize you can directly resize the apps by dragging their corners ( look at the corners of the app you can see small white outline , drag it and resize the app the way you want

honestly I don't agree with your assessment of the air, the pro is a must with the 120 refresh rate. it feels so slow because of the no refresh rate. I ended up selling my iPad Pro m4 and got a m3 MacBook Air 13 inch. I can watch content as well as send emails and day to day. best of both worlds. I travel a lot and find it convenient. maybe a video on the perfect slim travel bag for our MacBook?

Idk man maybe if you had the pro and went to the air you would notice the refresh rate difference. This air has been a joy to use and has had zero hiccups with my workflow… I would love to compare it to the pro, but from where I stand it’s the better value!

Hey spencer, would you mind testing out paperlike vs cheap no name matte screen protectors (like ESR paperfeel or KCT mattte screen protector etc) to see if paperlike is actually worth the price or just an overpriced matte screen protector and there’s no difference, so you are better off with the cheapest matte screen protector

I recently got an offer iPad Pro M4 256GB for £759 or MacBook Air M3 256GB for £783 I opted for the iPad Pro but I have an old gen MacBook Pro. But now I’m tempted to go back and get the MacBook Air as well 🫣
