The trick to carter's sound are the ghost notes to his sound. It makes every song way different.

you are missing the other bass pedal which Carter uses and adds even more coordination and structure

Love this video. Missed the ghost notes and double pedal. Carter also plays open hand left hand dominant instead of traditional right hand crossed over.

good video. Carter is one of the best drummers in the world. Although you forgot in your video the most useful fill used by Carter, the Herta Fill.

Thanks! I didn't forget the Herta fill here are a couple 3:58 6:45

Personal opinion, but these explorations of professional drummers, rankings of their music by difficulty, and examples of what make them unique are my favorite content on your channel. Not to say the original/other stuff is bad, but you're analysis of drummers I'm familiar with is really engaging. I like learning from you in a familiar context. Would you be able to look at some metal and hardcore drummers in the same way? Matt Greiner (Daddy Good Posture) from August Burns Red, Thomas Pidgeon of the Mars Volta, Brian Lada of Belmont, Jake Massucco of Four Year Strong, and Kevin Otten/Kevin Kaine of Knocked Loose. not all of these drummers are exactly "legendary" in popularity or recognizability but all of them are excellent musicians with music of varying degrees of difficulty. Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback, I will consider your suggestion, for some of them I may do a video in the future. It may take time thou.

Yeah it's kind of a must in a DMB top 10

The funny thing about Carter is: I hear DMB and see him play and am like, “Everything this dude does is cool. I wish he would stop it.” I don’t care for his playing song wise.

Beau master of odd time signature right?
@Pietro.Valente Жыл бұрын
Well...there are other drummers more specialized than him on odd meters but he's definitely good at that!

In terms of influences on Carter, you missed Billy Cobham (open handed!); Dennis Chambers; and Jack DeJohnette

Missing Carter's second pedal is noticeable to hear. An error and an oversight in making this video/demonstration.

If you think DMB is “cliche feel good music” you clearly have not listened to much of his catalogue.. lol Listen to Halloween, The Last Stop, Madman’s Eyes, Raven, What you are, Don’t Drink the Water, Shotgun, .. I could go on
