I just a manix it’s nice but my is so hard to pull back to close on mama have to call Spyderco to see if I can get this life straightened out if I could take it apart I would just cut the spring a coil or two to make it easier but there’s definitely a problem I should’ve never left the factory like this very disappointed Spyderco
@The_commonman19 сағат бұрын
That is disappointing, I’m surprised about that as well. From what I’ve heard Spyderco has great customer service. I expect they’ll get it all straightened out for you. Thanks for watching!

How comes it keeps the edge really well and easy to be sharpened at the same time😮
@The_commonman3 күн бұрын
I’m guessing the edge geometry has something to do with it? It surprised me just how easily it strops back up.

Dude IDK what you are talking about with the outside tools and pliers being hard to use one handed. I can easily use eveything but the internal tools one handed. Before posting this comment i had my wife try and she could also. So my large hands arent the deciding factor.

I got a set of RGT blue canvas micarta scales for my Spyderco Lil Native. I had no issue replacing the scales. It was easy, and the scales fit perfectly. While apart, I cleaned and lubricated the pivot. Even with the small blade and the pivot screws properly tightened, when releasing the compression lock, the blade drops shut easily. I have no complaints about function. And I much prefer the look and feel of micarta compared to G-10.

@The_commonman i also dropped my knife today and the tip is ever so slightly chipped... going to have to resharpen the entire blade since microtech refuses to disclose the sharpening angle... going to sharpen it at 20° want it to be slicy. 😅

My ramlock button is rusting after 2 weeks... smh such a bummer... can you recommend me what to do?
@The_commonman19 күн бұрын
That’s surprising.. I’ve had no issues with rusting. If it’s not easily removed I’d contact Microtech to see if there’s anything that can do to replace/clean the rusted part. And I would just be consistent about oiling it and cleaning it regularly. I use tuf glide to oil and lubricate my knifes, seems to work quite well. Hopefully that helps!

Three minutes in and all i know about is the looks. I can tell by the looks of your hands you don't work anyway so you wouldn't know about tools
@The_commonman19 күн бұрын
This hobby is completely subjective. None of these tools are the perfect tool for any job, they are the most convenient tools for almost every job in a compact package. To me, looks play a big part in what I want in my pocket, and I’m confident that goes for others as well. The looks are the initial thing I noticed about this tool when I first received it. I like to give my honest review of all the tools I showcase on my channel, therefore I focus on what stands out to me. Viewers are free to agree, disagree, like, or dislike anything I do. So please feel free to select any button you’d like. Thanks for watching!

My KJoy Slysz Bluie is perfect. ‘Course, it’s got upgraded all-T8 hardware and a Ti clip from RGT, a custom silver twill CF backspacer, and the scales have been stripped, then reanodized to a much more attractive shade of blue. NOW, it looks like a ~$500 knife. 😁

@The_commonman22 күн бұрын
With so many knife options out there, I’d just rather carry something that better fits my needs. A small detail for sure, but it shows just how competitive this market is. There’s the perfect knife out there for just about anyone. I try to focus on small details the best I can, hopefully I can help someone who looks for the same things I do in a knife. Thanks for watching!

No Cold Steel knives either.......yet! I want one of these and the Recon 1 Tanto. Also the compact version of this one too. That's 3 I HAVE to have. I'm currently caught up buying Benchmades now, but I'm gonna pick these CS knives up soon. They look great!

I have 2 of the 3 (sorta).....except my Para 3 is in CruWear with smooth G10 handles. It's a great knife that I paid around $124 for 6 years ago and has been my most-used single bladed folder (although I do prefer SAK's for carrying around). Fast forward to this year, picked up a Native 5 LW in SPY27....while I love the knife, the $160 price tag for cheap plastic handles and barely any hardware on a really small knife is a little ridiculous, but unfortunately that's the world we've moved into the last few years. That being said, I want the Native 5 in CruWear w/ micarta handles - waiting to see if there's any Black Friday deals before ordering.

Only thing this knife needs is a smaller choil for more cutting edge and much smaller blade window. In other words I want this big knife to stay big but more usablee for my small hands.

First thing I do when I get a black multitool is soak it in hot water with dawn dish soap to clean off the excess coating so I don't blacken my hand every time I use the thing. As for the Arc, I have two. Both have major frame flex, both won't hold or take an edge worth squat, and both have had wire cutters fail on wire that even Gerber cutters cut like butter. I'll take my Surge, Swiss Tool, or Charge over any other multitool
@The_commonmanАй бұрын
I’m surprised about that.. maybe I’ve just been lucky with my arc.. no issues at all. And washing the coated versions first is a good idea, I was surprised at how much of it comes off

My stitch is kind of stiff and doesn't flip out like yours. Did you tune your knife at all, or loosen the pivot ??
@The_commonmanАй бұрын
It came like this right out of the box. I’d recommend just a slight adjustment to the pivot. Might be best to remove the screw, apply loctite, then tune it to your liking and let it dry.
@akanwells4845Ай бұрын
How thick are these compared to the SAK scales? Did you use epoxy?

I don’t have an exact measurement, but just a hair thicker. Hardly noticeable. It is slightly heavier now as well. I didn’t use epoxy, its a pretty tight friction fit

@dualsportoutdoorsАй бұрын
When you get stiff pliers, just keep using them. They loosen up over time. My Signal, ST 300, amd Wave all came stiff like that and after I used them for a couple weeks, they loosened right up
@The_commonmanАй бұрын
I assumed that would be the case. Thanks for confirming!
@michaeljaekels6479Ай бұрын
Just got one. Overall not bad. But to me it feels SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper and not as…solid in the handle as the Bugout. I like the wharnie but I would probably give this one up for a Magnacut Bugout. To me, this thing’s saving grace is the advertised 62-64 hrc. I don’t think Benchmade would run a Bugout that hard.

Great knife. Magnacut was done right. Super slicey and light weight. Only bad thing was the Omega springs sucked. Action was terrible, blade opened in my pocket everyday, almost no detent. It was unsafe to carry till I replaced the springs with after market from eBay and completely changed the knife. Bugout size springs worked great.
@The_commonman2 ай бұрын
Since you’ve said that, I did notice the detent is quite weak. Not so bad that’s it’s an issue, but something I didn’t recognize initially. Thanks for sharing!

Great review. One thing I wish manufacturers would do is coat the clip to match the scales and not the blade. I think a black clip on this particular specimen would have been a homerun. Thanks for the content. Love the knife.
