You could create an event in the ai blueprint, which does the attack. You would then also have an event dispatcher, which would be called when the attack ends. This event would then be called in the behaviour tree. This works especially well when using blueprint interfaces.

if i change the mesh and pick up a different mesh it works, but as soon as i put it down it loads the Item ref. How can i pick up different mesh items and make them keep their mesh when i push it down?

Hi there, this solutiion has some problems. First the character only gets blown into one specific direction. Rotating the fan to the side would still blow the character up when jumping on the collision volume. This can be fixed by adding an arrow, pointing it to the collision direction and using its forward vector as launch direction. The second issue is that the characer cannot walk past the fan wind when the fan is sidewards. You will get blown to the side without being able to walk through it. Basically, you cannot walk against the wind/fan. Any ideas on how to solve that issue?

What version of unreal are you using? I believe that in prior versions to 5, you go to settings and add and input there.

Thanks a lot! I am new in Unreal, so I tried to make such mechanics of a pressure plate with a door myself, thinking that it would be very easy, but it turned out to be very buggy, also with the event tick... I am really bad at blueprints

Hi there, thx for your stuff! Do you know what is wrong, when whatever new input I add I always have it flickering (like I press the button and the engine switches back and forth) and why it only works 100% in one way? (only fully scroll in and no scroll out) this bothers me for month :/

Thank you, but there is one thing to note: if you click New Game, then press P and open Load Game and press P, the Load Game menu will not hide. The same thing happens if you open Save Game.

Hey, great video, but im having some issues making the AI attack me at all. Its for a university project and i cant seem to figure out why it wont attack me. It gets super close and up in my face but doesnt perform any actions. Any advice would be amazing

Check if the animation blueprint for your AI has a 'Default slot' node before the output pose.

Hello ! Your video is amazing but I got a problem ; when I press R it just switch my gun from the hip to the hand, without animation. Is it because my gun is a static mesh and not a skeleton mesh or is it something else ? Thank you !

You need to add a 'default slot' node before the output pose in your animation blueprint. This allows animation montages to be played.

First of all, thank you very much for all these tutorials, they are helping a lot. I have a question : I would like to know if it was better to do the whole menus, let's say all the interface things in a single widget asset or not ? It seems you do it like that, but I am not sure. I saw some devs make a new widget for every new "window" of interface. So what is the best in your opinion, and why ? Thank you again !

I think it really depends on what menu you're making. Having everything in one widget is generally going to be more performant, but having different widgets for everything can be more modular. For my hud and "inventory" screen I use one widget blueprint that contains other smaller widgets I have made. That way I don't have to store references to every different widget, just one, and I can retrieve my other widgets from that one.
