Very nice video and well explained. I liked you calculator too. however you didn't take into consideration broker fees/commission. Most brokers take commissions on close and open of any trade and it is also related to the size of your trade. I would be curious to know how did you manage that and will this method still works?

As much as I like the guy, having played with this "trick" for some time I think it is a bit of a dud. You need winning trades to make it work, so if you can get winning trades why bother hedging. It's a slow realisation. When you've spent a few days/weeks towing a loss around and paying swap and spread on the extra trim trades and debt trades you'll begin to wonder what the f$ck you're doing. This is the low down. If you trim, you reduce your lot size exposure but spread your debt over a larger area and debt will still increase. If you increase to capacity the extra lots will reduce the debt "distance" bringing loser and winner closer together but the size of the debt will still increase (commissions, spread and swaps). Brokers are not stupid they love this stuff. Its good for them. The only way to make it work is to have a winning trade of sufficient size often enough to reduce the debt down. I have never seen a video of Chad doing this on a live market, its always on a replay where you can glance at the action beforehand and perform all the tasks in your own time. Try that on XAUUSD or GOLD, US30, DAX, GBPJPY, USDJPY etc. It's a dud for me, not saying it cannot be placed in your toolbox but I couldn't find a consistent way to make it work that didn't detract from making "winning trades". The squeeze side of things can be a nightmare too, often ending up adding to the debt even more. Sorry Chad, didn't want to say any of this but left with no other choice. Where are you by the way? Peace.

I really like your strategy but feel like it still have problem, usually hit buy order and sell order for 20-30 pip, only the time you actually can squeeze can narrow the space down, like 2-3 times hit buy/sell order + profit always bigger than 1 time you can squeeze, unless when you wait to squeeze and you are lucky that have a full bar go to the profit way, and of course it not much :/

Try arbitraging it you will find more success. The game is about problem solving, not being right or wrong which you have established well. If I gave you my computer would you be able to manage your way out of my trades by maintaining balance, while collectively closing out groups of trades and adding more to rebalance. I may have 100 positions would you be able to exit them all flat for a profit, by using the volatility and lower paying per pip currency's and utilizing higher payout currency pairs to close the various banks or groups of trades. If this is the case, will you be ok with going on holiday for a month to return to find your bank is still balanced regardless of which way the market has gone. Thats the game nothing else

This is very helpful. Thank you sir. Please help explain why you place your hedge 20 or 30pips away. I thought a tighter gap say 2 or 3 pips is much easier to wiggle out since it doesn't allow a huge draw down before it is triggered.

Hedging is for suckers and people who cannot take a loss. Went through this early in my trading journey, after failing to build an edge many times - and being a constantly losing trader. Hedging is not an answer. Build your edge, build your psychology, your ability to take good losses (losses that occur when you have executed your strategy flawlessly) and your risk management. You cannot be awake for all the moves you need to fix hedged positions, and the swap fees will destroy you. Nick Shawn used to pimp hedging - even he stopped after getting destroyed on a USDJPY never-ending run with no workable pullbacks. Do the hard work. Face up to your psychological weaknesses. You'll win. It is so freeing to simply day-trade Forex and be out of all positions before the close - with a peaceful mind.

Hedging is a very good strategy as long don't use it on XAU or BTC & their friends that cost high margin. it just works only on currency pair w/ the largest leverage setting. 1: unlimited if possible.😊

Your calculations are wrong ..after taking the first profit below at 40pips... And set a sell stop 30 pips below.. What if market triggers the sell stop and goes back up....

Very good videos. Too much to take in on first view. I will be studying it. I am stuck in Gold right now with sell at 2504 and buy at 2565. In your video you set the stop loss 40 pips below and TP 40 pips above - moving them as price moves (I think). What boundaries would you recommend for XAUUSD? Please help.

Hi Chad, thank you for all your videos ,they're great! One question : usually you pocket 20% of a profitable trade and use the remaining 80% of it, to trim the most distressed opposite trade. my question is why not use the whole 100% profit to trim? After all, the 20% you pocketed ,don't increase your equity at all. It increases only your balance. So why not use all our profit to trim? - that way we'll have more lots (units) on the sidelines ready for action. I hope that makes sense... Cheers mate!

your probably not going to win very often ...clean trade ....so if you keep a little bit then it doesn't feel like your waiting forever ...plus if your using big size then those small keepers add up to a nice chunk of change ...plus if you want more action trade jpy pairs ...big movers
@dorongronski23282 ай бұрын
@@icemannn5453 Thanks for the reply, Ice! buy still, this chunk of change, those keepers, they only increase the balance of the account which is not the real worth of your account (doesn't take open p&l and fees under consideration). The real worth of the account is the Equity, which stays the same even after you take a portion of a profitable trade. Cheers

Some questions: (1) can you do the hedge on same account or need another account? (2) when you trim, it is at a loss on that account, it will incur a wash Sale since you have a position on same. after multiple trims through the year, wash sale calculations will be a mess, or you need to be mark to market trader status?
@СергейГромов-в2щ2 ай бұрын
Perhaps in such a trade, where you do not use the indicator signals, it is better to make an initial entry using pending orders, rather than entering immediately.I want to say that based on the current price, set the buy stop 15 points higher and the shell stop 15 points lower and let the market choose the direction itself.If it gains momentum, then there may be fewer false entries.

I have since recovered 1K and just slowly working my way back 'to infinity and beyond' I hope all is well and you are just silent due to not keeping up with YT and nothing more than that.

Are you waiting for price cross? If so then false break will enter position which is not confirmed by closed candle. Or if you wait for price close then you can't limit the 30/40 pips .theoretically it is working but running EA won't work.
