This is a great video! Thank you for sharing. My dad (Bob Unterseher) moved our family from Montana to Jamestown in 1973. I was 3 and my sister was newborn. He began a position of associate pastor at the Assembly of God church and also with Si Liechty at Liechty Homes as the Winnebago pickup cover division manufacturing and selling the pickup covers around a 5 state area for the next 5 years. During his time as associate pastor, he and my mother Sharon built a successful children's ministry which eventually involved bussing the kids from around town to the church every Sunday morning. Some still remember the 5 or so Peptibismol pink church busses that transported about 130 kids to children's church every Sunday. They also drove a hollowed out Blue Bird bus around town with a piano in it to present a Children's Bible Story Hour program in neighborhoods throughout Jamestown. In 1977, I attended first grade at Washington Elementary in Miss Inger's class. I was class of 1988, ironically. In 1978, We moved to Colorado where I continued school in the second grade. 1983, we left Hettinger and lived on the road for nearly 7 years during which time we spent time in Jamestown often. To get our financial feet under us, Dad worked for Jon Liechty out at the Montpelier farm moving dirt with a tractor and scraper. Your video brings back lots of memories from my childhood.

Good job! I bought one just like that for a couple hundred dollars many years ago in running but scruffy condition. Planning on putting a 350 Sebring engine in it. I also have a Diana and Sebring, both of which I've put a lot of miles on and both run very well. The NC singles are great bikes! The YT site Back to Classics has a series of videos on rebuilding a 200cc NC single. If you haven't seen it, it's filled with good info.

Use the original shims if you are able. On matched bevel gear set you will see a grind mark. When they are flush to each other the shimming is correct. otherwise you need to use a blueing agent to see how the gear teeth mesh togather and backlash should be nill with no binding The original factory workshop manual is the best source for this information. I think copies of it is available. Shimming the bevel gears is not easy. Especially the first time doing it. The gears should not have slop. But it Is not perfect . Get it as close as you are able with no binding. look at the grind mark on the gears . The factory did this to make it easer to set them. This was not mentioned.

This riding mower cannot discharge the grass properly because its outlet is too small and the fan is not efficient. One solution is to mow your lawn every 3 days (2 days in the spring) in order to mow a very small amount of grass. If you wait one week, the grass outlet will be blocked all the time. Conclusion: this machine is made to mow when you have no grass, a machine to mow in the desert!
@49ProRatStreet2 жыл бұрын
Hardly the case. We mow long and sometimes damp grass with no issues other than the bag gets heavy. I suspect you don't have the impeller belt routed properly or you've done other things wrong. We're 100% satisfied.....
@Red.Hot.Chili.Beans635 ай бұрын
Daniel you seem not to know your machine. Here's how to avoid plugging the discharge tube. First off, if you wait for the bag full light to come on the bag is full and the tube is also plugged. Wear hearing protection and listen for the air whirling throught the tube. The deck is loud and you should here it no problem. As soon as the whirling sound tapers (harmonics pitch tones down/changes) disengage the blades. After you dump the bag, pull up a few feet and reengage the deck. If it's whirling air again, the tube is clear. I cut heavy grass and cut grass that's still damp. I rarely plug the tube. I love my machine.

Does the bell weight between the two pulleys give you a longer run time? Does it require twice the weight when compared to a single pulley system? Thanks
@49ProRatStreet2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it gives you twice the run time based on there being more string to wrap and pull. Another yes. It takes twice the weight because half the weight is supported by the anchor and that leaves the other half to pull the wheel. Good questions.

The idler pulleys were ok? They seem to have bearings in them that don't hold up real well. Good job on the video and I agree video or take pictures as you go. Something may look so simple when its together but once apart you question yourself on how it goes back together.
@InTheShopWithDoc5 жыл бұрын
Paul if I understand you are using a relay to power your lights, You would need an amp fuse large enough on the wire going to the battery but the wire from switch to relay only needs to be I believe a couple amps as it doesn't carry a load except for the trigger coil in the relay. Plus your switch also does not carry much of a load so it could be a switch rated much smaller. But anyway looks nice I'm a bit surprised LED floods draw that kind of amps.
@49ProRatStreet5 жыл бұрын
That is correct that the switch could be lower amperage rated. I selected this switch mostly because of the illumination, size and apperance. As is John Fossum surprised these 8 LEDs draw 2.5 amps each at 12 volts. My bike coil outputs a little over 13.5 amps so my 5 amp draw shouldn't starve the bike for power.
