Guts and Sonja being violated as children. Do we know if that is a coincidence, or is that a direct inspiration too?

Ray probably used a mix of petrol and diesel which eliminates the big bang and gives a more controllled burn...... not that i am an arsonist but it is a better way to get a fire going.

I think it's the Moonlight Child's influence that protects Griffith from guts as well - like it won't allow itself to be destroyed by Guts. There's got to be something to that link that will decide Griffiths outcome in the end. Like the Child can affect reality through Griffith as an alter ego.

This game would have been a million times better if we played from Abby’s perspective to begin with, without knowing her motive or final plan. It would’ve let us sympathise with her and her group. They would be likeable and we’d be invested in their story and path, obviously assuming the writing is good. Then once we do find out and they kill Joel, we’ll feel conflicted. After that another sequel of Ellie going for revenge would be the icing on the cake. Alternatively, I just wanted to mention that the fireflies including Abby’s father, experimented on people without their consent in search of a cure. This is found in the first game. Abby’s father is a killer, and Abby supported this. Why do they get a free pass? But Ellie and Joel don’t? I honestly don’t mind the idea behind the story line, but the execution of it was just terrible because of the hypocrisy in the storyline. Abby is made to look so human when she and her father, I would say, are much worse than Joel and Ellie. Joel didn’t consent, nor did Ellie. But the fireflies and Abby’s father were happy to kill her in a desperate attempt at a cure that is practically impossible to manufacture even with the sample taken through the death of Ellie. Aside from that, the one great thing about the first game is that the ending leaves you to draw your own conclusions. It’s vague and doesn’t force the developers opinion down your throat and force you to think one way or another. Is Joel good or bad? Hero or villain? On the other hand, Neil duckmann forced his opinion and beliefs on you in the storyline of part 2. Joel and Ellie evil. Revenge bad. Abby good. Abby right. It’s almost as forceful and uncomfortable as the unnecessary sex scene. The plot is so rigid and inflexible. You are forced and caged as a player to have a specific view, unlike TLOU1. I think a great addition to this game would’ve been if we had found out Abby was actually immune as well, and her father spared her but wanted to kill Ellie to experiment. This would’ve led to a lot more ambiguity about the morals of all parties actions. Especially if Abby found this out after she killed Joel, and then introspected to show some sort of remorse or compassion towards Joel, as a way of letting the audience forgive her as Ellie does. Aside from everything else, making Ellie age by 15 years and making her so ugly and lesbian is surely just woke propaganda, and once again feels forced. There was no build up or indication of Ellie being lesbian in the first game when she’s already 16. Surely she would have figured it out by then? But oh wait I forgot were in 2021 so we have to make it woke. And Abby is built like an Olympic wrestler for the same reason I’m assuming. Entirely unnecessary. It really really is a shame. I remember buying the last of us for my 13th birthday. Playing and replaying that game was honestly the most fun I had gaming in my childhood. To this day it is my all time favourite story game. It’s honestly really sad how they ruined it. I think the only way to fix this is by having the next game set as a prequel to explore Joel more before meeting Ellie.

I watched the first season when it first came out. Because of this review, I went to watch it again. I still have no interest in the future seasons. It's a shame they didn't keep the same people for the next seasons. It feels unfair.
