Hey Sonya 🥰! I absolutely love this mall, and Bangkok is full of them, making it easy to find all my favorite stores and more. I'm not sure where I'll settle down permanently, as I'm enjoying exploring different places and living in each for a while. I've lived in Malaysia and Vietnam, so why not add Thailand to the list? 🎊 I want to have homes with connections all around the world. I'm open to wherever this journey takes me, and I don't feel the need to commit to just one place indefinitely right now. I was committed to one place for over 30 years, but now I'm free from commitments!💃🏽🙌🏽💕

Wow! Thank you for sharing your 15 years of insights - that's a long time, you're a resident. I love the food as well and have noticed the language barrier, which I didn't recognize during my first visit. I enjoy everything the city offers, especially its walkable design. The parks and green spaces have become my favorites now that my "partying" days are over but I can still get it in 😆. The metro is first class! Additionally, I appreciate the access to quality, affordable healthcare and have heard great things about Thai healthcare. Malaysia's healthcare system has also been amazing. I appreciate you sharing your experience; these are definitely reasons to consider moving here.🥰

@@QueenofDC I've actually moved around quite a lot over the years, each major district is like a whole new part to discovering Bangkok. 1-year contract on apartments and a fairly minimalist, comfortable lifestyle Popular places are on nut Phra Khanong bang sue bang na etc.. near a mrt or bts staion so u can go anywhere conveniently. I prefer to live in middle class Thai streets/areas where there are quite a few westerners and the menus are often only in Thai and the streetfood is superclean and cheap(thais are extreme picky about the food..tourists are not) There are 50 different districts in Krung thep as Bangkok is called in Thai and each district is different and unique Best way to explore bangkok and find YOUR place is "to get lost" just go to a random station or take a random old city bus for 8 baht (yes they cost 8 baht)and get lost and wander around

@@QueenofDC you should try the old smoky citybusses that cost only 8 baht.. they are soon gone now after rolling the streets 50 years.. Just go for a random trip without plans..if u get tired go for a 30 min-1 hour footmassage and rest in aircon chair or even as a friend does when he explores..wander into a small cheap hotel and book a room for 10-15 $. even a mere 2 star hotel or guesthouse in Thailand is cleaner than most higher rated hotels in the west.

We almost hopped on that old bus to see where it would take us, but it was too hot and crowded after walking what felt like a country mile! 🤣😂 However, it's definitely on the agenda for a day of adventure. I really enjoy exploring local neighborhoods; that's my preference.

Air pollution is certainly a big issue here. We're all walking around with herbal inhalers 😩.I understand, and living in Southeast Asia, I don’t go out until after 3 PM unless I have appointments. I can get whatever I need, feels real comfortable, and I like how the city is designed for walking. Kuala Lumpur is next in line for amenities and city life. Both excellent cities to call home. Initially, it was shocking 😆but now I just eat when my food arrives! I noticed they do it in Thailand as well. Yeah, traffic is bad and it's frustrating trying to cross the street because as soon as the light turns they are speeding through, it's so rude and I've seen the aftermath of accidents in the city ugh. I wish I could say that was true for this case but it's not. I travel with charcoal pills and normally they work to a certain degree. This strain of bacteria was potent, I probably should have went to the hospital that's how bad I was suffering. I've had food poisoning abroad before. I'm never eating Bahn Mi again so it doesn't matter what they are serving 🤣. She wore gloves and I've eaten at this place before, they just got me bad this time.

If it's not a long-term stay, not having windows doesn't bother me; however, on a cruise, I would prefer a window. I agree about the gym. The hotel isn't big, but at least they have the basics.
