007 James Bond Spectre movie reaction first time watching

007 James Bond returns in Spectre and this is an interesting one following up Skyfall.
Badd Medicine here and it Spectre movie reaction time! Daniel Craig again does a fantastic job (in our opinion) and the addition of Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, and big Dave Bautista (former WWE superstar) were great! It was nice to see this story pull from Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall. The big reveal of James Bond and Blofeld growing up together of sorts. Blofeld take down of the double 0's was an interesting take with the technology and Blofeld claiming to be the one behind all of Bond's darker days. And Bond ends up with Mr. White's daughter?! That was an interesting twist. Not as much action in this one compared to Quantum of Solace and Skyfall.

I remember when they shot that movie here in Austria the fire brigade from my hometown was there to help the crew. In a small country its really special to be featured in such a big movie xD. btw that building on the mountain top is now a James Bond museum.

I’ve never understood the amount of hate this movie got, it was a great Bond film; I really like the slower plotting spy movie that was the set up for No Time To Die. I think just because it wasn’t another Skyfall (which I think gets a little a little overrated) people think it’s awful. I really like the love story in this one, I always thought it brought everything full circle that the man who was responsible for Vesper’s death and Bond’s heartbreak is the father of the girl he ends up truly in love with. I can understand why some people complain about the “lack of chemistry” but I never saw it that way, I saw it more as Bond falling for Madeleine but also still trying to keep his guard up because the last time he fell hard and fast for Vesper and got burned by it. Also the fast love story is similar to the one in Casino Royale; both Vesper and Madeleine go from hating/despising Bond, to flirting with him, then after going through a traumatic experience they’re in love with him. I’ve always really like this movie and it’s a lot better than some people make it out to be. Really looking forward to the No Time To Die reaction!

Ah yes, the typical, "You just don't dont like it because it's not Skyfall" defense. In your post defending the movie, you lump every single critic of it in the same boat and brush them saying they ONLY don't like it because of Skyfall. What does skyfall have to do with Waltz being a mediocre villain? What does Skyfall have to do with the reveal that Bloefeld was somehow behind every previous event being a terrible reveal that makes no sense? Whats funny is I agree with you about the movie overall. Its not a terrible movie. It has some big flaws, but the movie is still entertaining and well made. But to just give the weak excuse its only disliked due to skyfall, thats just absurd. If anything, youre the only one basing your judgement of it off Skyfall.

Really love this movie. 🥰🥰 Little insider information that might be good to know, Daniel broke his leg in the beginning of shooting. He had a choice to make get an operation and pause for 9 months or do the movie with a kind of leg splint. He did the movie with the splint, cause he didn't want to stop the production and because he thought it would be his last movie. The whole production for this movie was quite difficult, they had a lot of problems which is maybe a reason some scenes weren't as good as they could have been. Because of Daniel injury there weren't so many action sequences and a lot of scenes were rewritten. I still really loved this movie and I think with this knowledge I'm even more impressed with Daniels performance in this movie and in general all his work.

I always felt like Daniel was a bit vacant or distracted through this one. He didn't seem as "on" as the previous films, and then I watched the Being James Bond doc where he talked about this and it made so much more sense! He was distracted because he was acting with a broken leg!

My favourites are Skyfall, Spectre and Quantem of Solace. I had to laugh at your reaction to the train fight sequence. Watching Daniel Craig fall off the ceiling after setting fire to Daves character was like watching a slapstick movie. Lol. This movie was so good. I'd say the only too little things that I found a bit over the top is when James and Madeline landed on that net in the old MI6 building and the helicopter fight at the beginning in Mexico. Its a risky stunt over so many extras on the ground.

You guys should watch Layer Cake, considering you're currently enjoying Daniel Craig as Bond. It's a British gangster movie. (Made by Matthew Vaughan, the guy that makes the Kingsmen movies, as well as Kickass) I watched it a few years back, and I've gotta say, it's very well shot and has some cool moments. Looking forward to No Time To Die next week. I actually missed the entire opening scene of the film when I first saw it. I live in China and when I went to the cinema I didn't know that they don't actually show any trailers of other films beforehand, so I made the mistake of going to the bathroom thinking I'll only miss the trailers. When I came back I'd missed most of the opening scenes so I was completely in the dark.

2 important things about this entire scene in case you interrupt it. 1) this is a one shot continuous cameras shot, which means the Director yells action and a camera stays on bond (various cameras) without ever leaving him until the director and scene end where they say cut. 2) before this scene there were no Day of the Dead parades like this one, this movie inspired the entire concept of having real life day of the dead parades.

Maybe I'm too old, but for me, after Sean Connery, there were, more or less, disastrous 007 successors with very average plots. Daniel Craig is the first and only Connery successor that I can put on a par with Connery. For me, Specter is an outstanding 007 film reminiscent of the old, good times remembered. Top cast, an extraordinary atmosphere, an extraordinary plot and finally a boss (C.Waltz) who reminds of Gert Froebe (Goldfinger) due to his outstanding quality. Casino Royal, Specter, Skyfall and No time to die are, for me, absolute milestones in the Bond film series.

Just FYI “C’ surname Unt.. with the punchable face appeared in a modern remake of Sherlock Holmes starring Benadict Cumbabach and ‘C’ was Moriatti.. well worth watching, if my memory is right there was 9 episodes made, 3 per series, 3 series in total + xmas special, all remakes of the original books but with a 2018 modern twist.. Highly recommend it, i cannot remember the actors name who played C but i do remember his vivid green underpants.. watch the series, it will make more sense then..

It may be controversial, but I think that No Time to Die is basically a masterpiece, on par with Casino Royale. Spectre is probably a 3/5 for me because the final 30 minutes (villain base and London epilogue) are just so hastily written and the action scenes disappointed somewhat. Always got the feeling Craig didn't want to ski so we got that plane sequence instead of the obvious. Edit: You'll have to explain OHMSS (the music and the 'All the Time in the World' line) to the boys before watching No Time to Die lol.

I did always wonder why they picked that location (a clear homage to OHMSS) with perfect terrain for a ski chase and then decided to go with the plane sequence. I heard rumours when they were filming Spectre that Craig didn't want to do the skiing but I suppose the injury makes perfect sense since that fight with Big Dave was filmed early on and every other action scene in the film, if you look close enough, is clearly accounting for the injury; especially the escape from the lair, and the fact that he walks after Sciarra instead of running.

The thing about the action and espessially the plane scenes are call backs to the originals. The last 2 films were serious call backs to the original Bond films. To me it felt like they were trying to take the originals and modernize them but not try to copy them.

For a second when I watched this review...I remembered: they had the chance to write an "age- appropriate" love story for once...breaking with the cliche of the "young, innocent" girls. Monica Belluccis character would have been perfect. Someone that has lived and experienced stuff and maybe could have been a real partner. As many cliches as DCs Bond broke - I as a woman would have loved to have seen that.

A lot of truly hardcore fans hate on this film. It's far from the best Bond film but it's far from the worst, too. Yes the third act is a bit of a mess (honestly it shouldve ended with a big battle at Blofelds lair and him escaping), but I still think there's lots to enjoy, and it's for my money the best looking Bond film *ever*!

Compared to Casino and Skyfall, it's a serious downgrade. But there are some good things in it. It's not A View To A Kill or Die Another Day or hell, any Brosnan movie not named Goldeneye at least. The biggest mistake No Time To Die made wasn't its "controversial" ending. It was bringing back all the same themes that didn't work in Spectre. Lea Seydoux is gorgeous, but after the tremendous chemistry Daniel Craig had with Eva Green, it just isn't there here. Makes me more frustrated that the franchise couldn't get Monica Bellucci in her prime to at least play the Teri Hatcher role in Tomorrow Never Dies, the "one that gets under his skin." For every Eva Green, Honor Blackman and Diana Rigg, there's a legion of miscast or badly written Bond girls. Both apply to the Paris Carver misadventure. Here's an idea: in order to pass your audition to become a Bond girl, you have to demonstrate some semblance of chemistry with the 007 actor. But these "flavour of the week" casting choices of just bringing in the hot, new, young hot chick rarely works. I'm thinking of Denise Richards and Halle Berry, specifically. I don't know if the Bond people know this, but there are many beautiful women in the world. Some of them might have chemistry with your leading man. Throwing in Shailene Woodley just because she's popular - oh wait, that's a scenario that might work with the right Bond actor. No pretty boys and more Daltons, Connerys and Craigs, please! Get an actor who isn't just a one-liner in a suit who can pose with a gun like he's doing a Gucci photoshoot. I admit, my pick Idris Elba is probably a bit too old for the role at the moment, but his demeanour in Luther is very Flemingesque. He's cool enough to wear a designer peacoat, but he can play a real person.

How is Bellucci "not in her prime"? Bit ageist honestly. She's 4 years older than Craig. She would have been a worthy partner for Bond...her scene with DC had more chemistry than with all the other Vesper replacements. I would have loved that - Bond in a relationship with someone of similar age/life experience, a true sparring partner. It's about damn time there's leading ladies/love interests in that age range in the big blockbusters as well. Women don't all just become invisible and undesirable once they've crossed 36.

I like it, but I don’t love it. C is a 2D villain from an actor who is so much better than what he got to do. I found Madeleine declaring love after under a week a bit silly. I also found Blofeld disappointing, but great action, great performances from Bond, Q, M, Moneypenny. It’s 4th out of Daniel’s Bond films for me, but I don’t think it’s not as bad as many say.

I don’t think either one of them are “old enough” for the roles, and I think they’d stay clear of them just because so many people know them from Harry Potter. I do think they’re going to go for a Bond with darker hair this time around since we’ve had a blonde Bond for a while. I pity whoever they cast to follow Danielle Craig because he’s been a damn good Bond.

I really disliked Spectre. The set action pieces (car chase, train fight) had no purpose because Hinx was not going to kill Bond. That was to be Blofeld's delight. So those scenes were just there for the thrill factor. And why did Bond and Madeline walk right into Blofeld's lair? They had no master plan to stay alive. Made no sense to me. Also, I thought Lea Seydoux looked too young for Bond. I rank this the worst Daniel Craig Bond movie.

Bloefeld being Bond's foster brother that's somehow behind the events in every previous movie is genuinely a horrible twist. Remove that nonsense and it automatically makes the movie better. "It was me James, the author of all your pain". Ugh.
