They already had blue screens back in the 80ies, but they didn't use it because they've choosed to invest in stunt workers not in nerdy video game scientists. lol
@jimmilton45432 жыл бұрын
@@toughguyver6986 The “nerdy video game scientists” also never had the technology to make the stuff look believable like stuntmen which they have now and of much less risk for the people involved.

I find this and the ski sequence opening in Spy Who Love Me. Filmed by 2nd Asst Director Peter Hunt. Because of this sequence Hunt got the main Directors gig for the next 5 films. So cool.

I think it is the best footage in cinema history.

I can still remember pulling my jaw off the floor when I saw this in the cinema. Nothing quite like it had ever been attempted before and the results were truly stunning.

Superb work...great effort, incredibly dangerous, but the result was a stunning sequence, no CGI can match this kind of realism. Congratulations to all for an unforgettable piece of movie history. 👍🏻👏🏻

This one of the most impressive sequences in cinema, let alone Bond. It's a shame that people don't appreciate this scene more.

As a team member of BJ Worth, a friend of Randy de Luca and Jake Lombard I was honored to help with this project in a simple roll. When they went up to shoot part of the sequence I jumped from the aircraft on a first pass over the DZ. This allowed the cameraman in the camera to see the angle of the exit. It was super cool.

Thanks for the details. Great to know. And glad that everyone was safe from this.

Michael G. Wilson is a legend in his own right. He did some fantastic DVD commentaries (now likely ported to Blu-Ray) for some of the older Bond movies and they are great listens. A respected figure in the film industry and knowledgeable of a franchise that has been a part of his life since he was 20. May his narration of a subject for which he loves be forever immortalized.

THE BEST BOND FILMS OPENING EVER !!!!
@James-007511 жыл бұрын
it was an amazing sequence. apparently it took 5 months to film it. Jake Lombard and BJ Worth carried on through to Licence to Kill. BJ Worth even doubled Grace Jones for Mayday's jump off the Eiffel Tower in A View to a Kill

Terrify team and brilliant stunt work for the time. The only bit I dislike is the slapstick element when Jaws rips the cord and starts to flap his arms, bit silly and spoiled the tension.

I'd use digital equipment if I were you. Less chance of damage, higher framerates, but most important less weight and bulk
