What a scene, it's overflown with tension, the lines are not overt, the acting by "Halle Berry" the way she's a bit under duress, but is still maintaining her composure trying to appear strong and Pierce just nonchalantly and confidently swaying her. This scene is so incredibly terrible (it MUST be meant as a parody!), but Pierce Brosnan is completely at ease here. Like he knows what kind of crap is surrounding him and, having given up all hope, he decides to have fun and roll with the flow. His best Bond performance. But "Die Another Day" is atrocious, of course; one of the absolute worst. That dialogue... Purvis and Wade should have been fired immediately. if possible, however, I find their first effort "The World Is Not Enough" even worse; it doesn't even have that trash factor entertainment value.

The whole movie was a tribute to then 40 years of Bond. A little bit from all that came before from Dr. No onward. A small bit of not-well-known trivia was Bond got his name from a friend and neighbor of Ian Fleming. He wanted the blandest sounding name for his fictional secret agent, said neighbor said try mine: Dr. James Bond, professor of Ornithology. Obviously, Fleming went with it with early drafts and the final product of what became Casino Royale and sent it to the publishers. The rest of course, is history.
@onthetracksof0073 жыл бұрын
@@chrismc410 The ornithologist never 'offered' his name. Fleming always had Bond's bird book around and just took the name, because it sounded good. The real Bond wasn't too amused at first.
