The old Bond had a very dry humour and Craig just doesn't have it.
@Frserthegreenengine2 жыл бұрын
I disagree, while the old films are indeed very fun to watch, they are pretty detached from Ian Fleming's original character and storyline, Pierce Brosnan's portrayal in particular (even though I do like Pierce Brosnan as James Bond). Daniel Craig's James Bond doesn't have a lot of humour yes, but that's because it's pretty close to what Ian Fleming originally had in mind for the character. To me only two actors have really come close to really nailing Ian Fleming's character, those being Daniel Craig and Timothy Dalton. Sean Connery was somewhere in between. But then again I guess everyone has their own opinions. This is just mine
@martinanaya388 Жыл бұрын
That’s because Craig’s 007 is underrated and wasn’t fooling around with women like Sean Connery, Roger, Moore, and Pierce Brosnan himself. Daniel’s Bond started as an immature inexperienced and vulnerable 007 from blowing an embassy, falling in love with one woman who sacrificed herself for him, seeking revenge, getting to the bottom of it only to find out his foster brother Blofeld was the mastermind of all his suffering, and sacrificing himself in a nanobot factory run by Blofeld’s nemesis Safin

With every actor that has taken the role of bond Desmond had great chemistry with them every single time even if they were for a few moments of scenes, my favorite was probably Desmond and Dolton where Q had a sorts of fatherly attitude and attachment to bond. Whether one likes it or not, isn't it fair to say that Arnold's score is derivitave of Barry's work -- often from many decades prior -- that it has no fingerprint at all? These scenes are a great example: it's simply the most generic, bombastic Bond Theme one could imagine. More to the point, there is no ingenuity or imagination present. A real step down from what Serra brought in GoldenEye. In fact, the worst piece of scoring in GoldenEye was a last-minute rescore which replaced Serra's retrofitted-future synth of the Bond Theme with a 'normalized' version of that theme that sounds utterly generic and predictable. It sounds like temp music from an unfinished score, in fact. A real shame, as what Serra provided was a coherent fit for the film, and commentary on Bond's place in a shifting world. Yet the removal of Serra's theme and replacement with such poor work was very predictive of what Arnold would bring, and also what's wrong with the Brosnan movies (with the very notable exception of GoldenEye): they function as compromised products that do little other than providing a kind of checklist of Bond Tropes. Arnold fit right into that thinking. I'm very thankful that GoldenEye had Serra to score it. And Campbell to direct it.
@yrooxrksvi71422 жыл бұрын
@@anen9332 GTFO With your hipster nonsense. No one liked Serra's bland, "aVaNtgArDe" score because it hardly sounded like something out of a Bond film. Deal with it, even others like George Martin, Marvin Heimlisch or Michael Kamen, while doing their own thing, never forgot they were scoring for a Bond film and their soundtracks adapted accordingly. Because Bond's music CAN be bombastic as it can be quiet.

Most bond movies, although not very deep or smart in their writing focus, are somewhat intertwined with the vibe and feel of their time. You can feel the oozing cold war in early Connery movies. The tone changes into space and super technologies more and more in time. Brosnan's era was filled with random individuals threatening the West in a different way. More terrorism than a war And Craig's time was gritties, where lines a bit more blurry and no one is entirely clean.
@Drummr88 Жыл бұрын
"Fake news" is a catch-all phrase that is basically code for: anything that the authorities don't want you to look into. If the establishment is desperately trying to muster to use all its resources to convince you that something is "fake news", you ought to exercise a healthy amount of skepticism. Not that something becomes true by default, but you would do well to investigate it with an open mind. By the way: the biggest purveyors of propaganda and truly fake news are almost invariably official sources. But aside from that, this was indeed a fantastic movie! Have a great day, sir!
