That's cool how the whole thing is machined from bar stock. No need to rivet the trunnions or spot weld the rails.

The funny thing is that the AK was originally designed to be manufactured with stamped parts, but there was a problem getting tooling setup for production, so Kalashnikov settled on a milled version for the first 10 years. The AKM was really his original intent for the AK-47.

Good work man, AK Milled receiver is the way to go, I own 12 AKs and 4 of them are milled and all 4 of them shoot more accurately than the stamped AK, even the 2 American made ones with a green mountain barrels shoot as good as any AR-15.
@simone.Lmo.639-28 ай бұрын
I assume it could be for the heavier barrel profile rather than the receiver itself

2:05 in the gost drawing format revisions are the top section. You are pointing at people who have drawn, checked and approved the document.
@WingZeroGWO3 жыл бұрын
Yea, that's good information. I just recently figured out the actual standard for these drawings, along with the ANSI equivalent of their material specs. I have a few other prints with revisions, that show the block directly on top of the title block. This this receiver drawing does not have any revisions.

It was. However, if you break it down into small chunks, it's not such a big deal. I think the hardest task is prioritizing your features in the proper order so that you don't have to double back and cut something twice, or extrude something twice.

honestly it works great and the edges are smoothed, not to sure about the advanced tools, i'm just a beginner. but it even said files can be compatible with multiple programs and it seems like it has high quality end products, but also i checked out the retail solidworks. The salesmen for solidworks kind of made it sound like all the other programs where obsolete in end product speed and comparison.
@WingZeroGWO7 жыл бұрын
I know he's a sales guy making his pitch, but I would have to agree with him on speed. The software is definitely not catered to an independent designer though. The upfront cost is huge.

+Tugawave I just removed them today, as they were all being flagged for copyright claims (due to the music playing in the background) by a company called tunecore. I will most likely be remaking all of them, but in the mean time it was easier to remove the videos instead of allowing this company to profit from my work because I happened to be listening to music while I was recording.

Hey, first let me thank you for this great video. I'm a hobbyist gun modeller myself and i also have that drawing lmao, problem is it's hard af to read compared to anything I've seen. Probably because it's hand drawn. The quality is really bad either lol. I wish there were some HD drawing of an AK entire blueprint just like how there's a good quality M4/16 drawings spreading around. So many ak manufacturer nowadays makes me wonder how there's none high quality blueprint going around on the net lmao.

Hi, thanks for checking out my video. I'm actually in the process of creating hi-fidelity prints for the AK right now. I have almost all of the drawings done for the AKM. My friend and I started a business and we're going to launch a website soon so we can sell them.
