If you look back at Only Boys Aloud videos from 2012, 2013, 2014, you can see so many of the same kids here, but growing up. It's awesome to see them sticking with it.

And to think that the Welsh language almost died out. I'm an Australian, but with Welsh heritage (Davies from Carmarthon) and Only Boys Aloud has brought me to tears since I first saw them on BGT. I can only express happiness that the UK has matured to where nationalism, whether English, Scottish, Northern Irish or Welsh is not only allowed to exist, but is positively encouraged.

Clive Glover - thank you for your very kind words, I think we all experience the haters in all walks of life, but, I guess it’s their opinion that I suppose they are entitled to express whether we like it or not. I’m all for free expression but I do think some comments are better kept in the haters heads. Thank you so much for your support.

On behalf of those around the world who don't speak Welsh, it would be wonderful if translations were available. I love the passion and pride in the voices of OBA, as well as the audience, and wish you'd share the words with us. Love and peace to us all!

O Land of my fathers, O land of my love, Dear mother of minstrels who kindle and move, And hero on hero, who at honour's proud call, For freedom their lifeblood let fall. Chorus: Country! Country! O but my heart is with you! As long as the sea your bulwark shall be, To Cymru my heart shall be true. II O land of the mountains, the bard's paradise, Whose precipice, valleys are fair to my eyes, Green murmuring forest, far echoing flood Fire the fancy and quicken the blood Chorus III For tho' the fierce foeman has ravaged your realm, The old speech of Wales he cannot o'erwhelm, Our passionate poets to silence command, Or banish the harp from your strand.

There is a translation but the Welsh National Anthem will always be sung in Welsh because the English Translation would not fit with the music. Thank you for your lovely comments on this version.

I understand why some are saying about the comedy aspect of this rendition of our National Anthem but the whole show was about Wales, its history and culture. Tommy Cooper was a fantastic comedian from Caerphilly, his statue stands tall in Caerphilly Town which was unveiled by Sir Anthony Hopkins another Welsh Great.

Chris C - Sorry but if you research into him then you will see he was Born Philip Anthony Hopkins 31 December 1937 (age 82) in Margam, Port Talbot, Glamorgan, Wales. So he is indeed Welsh and he has British and American Citizenships.

Somehow I'm not convinced by this performance. Too much mucking about. I think i prefer renditions by traditional Corau Meibion really. And are they singing the "LL" in "gollasant" properly at 1:17? Sounds like a plain "L" to me.

I am Welsh - but not Welsh speaking. A national anthem is a national anthem, and I do not approve of rather pathetic attempts by some who think they are being funny to turn a national anthem into something that they think will further their career. Comedy has its place - but this was misplaced, in my opinion.

Thomas Skipton I was sad to hear you don’t like the Welsh Language and you don’t like the melody but I totally disagree with you. It’s a fantastic language with a melody that is deep rooted in ALL Welsh Hearts. If you are not Welsh (and I guess you are not), firstly I’m sorry but then you will never understand what it means to us passionate Welsh. It is also loved throughout the world with many commenting how beautiful the Welsh National Anthem is. Generally I find it disrespectful to comment on a language in the way you have. It’s not only disrespectful to the Anthem itself but it’s disrespectful to every Man, Woman and Child in Wales but obviously you are entitled to your opinion. I am all for free speech in this country but your comment would have been better kept in your own head and not shared. However, thanks for your comment.
